Unexpected timezone issues
Hi, my server in Melbourne Australia is getting weather forecasts from a few places around Australia. When I look at the daily timesteps that I get back, they might be something like this: "days": [ { "forecastStart": "2025-06-25T00:00:00Z", "forecastEnd": "2025-06-26T00:00:00Z", "daytimeForecast": { "forecastStart": "2025-06-25T07:00:00Z", "forecastEnd": "2025-06-25T19:00:00Z", "overnightForecast": { "forecastStart": "2025-06-25T19:00:00Z", "forecastEnd": "2025-06-26T07:00:00Z",} It doesn't matter where I ask for - Melbourne, Darwin, Perth, it always comes back the same. The documentation says that daytimeForecast is 7 am to 7 pm local and overnightForecast is 7pm to 7 am local. However, in a place like Perth 7-19Z is 3 pm to 3 am, not 7 pm to 7 am like advertised. I can see that for any given date, there are 3 maximum temperature forecasts, a 24 hour max, a daytime max and an overnight max and they differ from each other. Can anyone help me understand what's happening here? And furthermore in the example above, the 24 hour forecasts that have, for example this: "forecastStart": "2025-06-25T00:00:00Z" ... Can the 00:00:00Z be trusted literally? Or is it more the case that it's "2025-06-25" but the HMS got tacked on in a conversion?

How to create a dylib for iOS project?
I want to create a dynamic library for my iOS project, which would be loaded at runtime. In Xcode, there are templates available for creating a static/dynamic lib for MacOS. But under the iOS tab, there is only a "static library" template. So, I used the "static library" template and in its build settings I changed the Mach-O type to "dynamic library". Now after building it, I use the file command on the generated file and it tells me it is a dynamic lib. But the generated file still has .a extension, which is usually for static libs. I'm aware we can tell Xcode in build settings to change the .a extension to something else, say .dylib but this seems like a hacky way to create a dynamic library. What is the correct way? I am aware that standalone dylibs are not supported on iOS, and we need to wrap them in a framework. For my use case, the framework will literally be a wrapper, it won't have any source files of its own. It should only contain the dynamic lib generated from some independent codebase. I am not sure how to place the dylib in the framework.

Signing / Provisioning Profile Error After Enabling CloudKit + MusicKit Entitlements
Hi everyone, after enabling CloudKit in my project, my app started showing conflicts between MusicKit and CloudKit entitlements — and now Xcode is failing to generate the provisioning profile entirely. Current issue (Signing / Provisioning Profile Failure) Xcode shows this error: “Provisioning profile ‘iOS Team Provisioning Profile: team8.groovefy.dev’ doesn’t include the entitlements: com.apple.developer.media-library, com.apple.developer.music-user-token, com.apple.developer.musickit, com.apple.developer.playable-content, com.apple.security.exception.mach-lookup.global-name” Automatic signing fails, and Xcode cannot create or update the provisioning profile. This started right after CloudKit was enabled in the project. Context Before enabling CloudKit, MusicKit worked normally, including Apple Music authentication and playlist creation. After activating CloudKit capabilities: MusicKit stopped generating the Apple Music user token Playlist creation broke Now the provisioning profile cannot be rebuilt because the required MusicKit-related entitlements are no longer included Even after removing CloudKit entirely, the issue persists — as if the App ID or entitlements on the server side became inconsistent or corrupted. I already tried: Recreating App Identifier Recreating provisioning profiles Resetting capabilities Cleaning and reinitializing the Xcode project settings But Xcode still refuses to generate a valid provisioning profile that includes the MusicKit entitlements. Summary Enabling CloudKit caused MusicKit entitlements to collide, and now the provisioning profile no longer includes the required MusicKit entitlements — preventing the app from signing, running, or creating playlists. If anyone has faced this type of entitlements/provisioning corruption or knows how to reset the App ID entitlements on Apple’s side, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Portal of Apple for tracking health(crashes/hangs)
We are looking for a platform or portal provided by Apple that allows us to track crashes, hangs, or other runtime issues faced by users while using our iOS/macOS application. This is similar to how we currently use Windows Error Reporting (WER) for our Windows application. Important note: Our application is not distributed via the Apple App Store — it is delivered through enterprise distribution or ad-hoc provisioning.

Security warning while installing .pkg file in mac OS desktop
We have a macOS application packaged as a .pkg file. To notarize it, we first code-sign individual library folders and the .app bundle using the following command: codesign --force --deep --sign "Developer ID Application: <Our Account Name>, LLC (Team ID)" "Our_product.app" Code Sign result for .app file: Our_prodcut.app: valid on disk Our_product.app: satisfies its Designated Requirement We are using packages tool to create .pkg file with code signed .app file. Steps followed once .pkg file is ready: 1. Product Sign: productsign -sign "Developer ID Installer: <Our Account Name>" output.pkg signed-output.pkg 2. Submit for notorization: `xcrun notarytool submit signed-outout.pkg --keychain-profile "notarytool-password" --wait Received following output: Current status: Accepted................................. Processing complete id: 2d5c450f-5b22-4b4d-9579-ef21c0356548 status: Accepted Transferred Notarization log: xcrun notarytool log 10169892-b28c-407c-b348-edab0b34ef34 --keychain-profile "notarytool-password" Desktop/developer_log_6.json We have observed log with "Accepted" status with issues as "null". 3. Stapler: stapler staple signed-output.pkg stapler validate signed-output.pkg Processing: signed-output.pkg The validate action worked! 4. Checking status of .pkg file: Command: spctl --assess --verbose=4 signed-output.pkg Output: signed-output.pkg: rejected source=no usable signaturess Warning During Installation: While installing the .pkg file, a security warning appears as follows. Installer package is terminated after 600 seconds
Hi, I have an installer package that runs a postinstall script. The script can take a long time to complete, as one thing it does is copy about 10-30 GB of files using the rsync tool. We noticed on macOS 15 that the installer would fail almost exactly 10 minutes after it started. Looking in the /var/log/install.log, I see a message like this: 2025-07-01 12:54:32-07 Work-M1 package_script_service[21562]: PackageKit: Terminating PKInstallTask(pid:21573). Task has exceeded its 600 seconds of runtime. This does not happen in my testing on macOS 12 (Monterey) I have a few questions about this: A) Is this documented, and which OS introduced this? B) Is there a way a developer can extend or disable the time limit via a setting in the installer package. Or if not, is there a way end end user can disable it temporarily on their system? Thanks, Andrew

Xcode
Hello, I'm not a developer. I have an app in the App Store and an Apple Developer account. I have two questions: 1. I'm trying to find out exactly where the source code of my app is located - I can't. It should be in Xcode. There is only Xcode cloud in my account, which is inactive. 2. I want to find out what programming language my app is written in. How do I do this?

Unable to get a new API Key
When I try to get a new API Key I get the following error. "API Keys cannot be created due to an invalid Program License Agreement. Please update this agreement and try your request again." I have been to the agreement section, and it says: "Issued October 8, 2025. Accepted November 19, 2025." Any idea why I still get this error?? Not sure if that makes a difference. I had a paid account, but I didn't renew it because I don't need it anymore, and I was told that I can still use this account for free for app testing.

Static library produced by Xcode 26 causes link error on Xcode 16
When a static library is built with Xcode 26 (with deployment target set to iOS 13) and then linked into an app project compiled with Xcode 16, the build process fails with the following linker error: Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: "_swift_coroFrameAlloc" This occurs even though both the static library and the app project have their deployment targets set to iOS 13.0. The static library works on Xcode 26, but fails to link on Xcode 16. This issue shows up with certain Swift syntax. For example, in my case, using a property getter and setter caused the compiler to emit a reference to _swift_coroFrameAlloc, which in turn triggered the issue. This issue prevents us from distributing pre-built static libraries compiled with Xcode 26 to teammates who are still using Xcode 16. I’ve filed feedback for this issue (FB21130604). Is there any way to work around it? For example, by adding specific Build Settings or something similar? A demo project is available here: https://github.com/Naituw/SwiftLibraryDeploymentTargetIssue The demo project includes: StaticLibraryProject: A simple Swift static library with property getter setter usage AppProject: An iOS app that links against the static library verify_compatibility.sh: An automated script to reproduce the issue Method 1: Manual Build and Verification Open StaticLibraryProject/StaticLibraryProject.xcodeproj in Xcode 26 Build the StaticLibraryProject for iOS device (Release configuration) Locate the built libStaticLibraryProject.a in the build products directory Copy libStaticLibraryProject.a to AppProject/AppProject/ directory Open AppProject/AppProject.xcodeproj in Xcode 16 Build the AppProject for iOS device Method 2: Automated Script Edit verify_compatibility.sh to configure the paths to your Xcode installations: Set XCODE_26_PATH to your Xcode 26 installation path (e.g., /Applications/Xcode.app) Set XCODE_16_PATH to your Xcode 16 installation path (e.g., /Applications/Xcode16.app) Run the script: ./verify_compatibility.sh

libclang_rt.profile_driverkit.a' not found
Hi guys! I have gone through an absolute nightmare, trying to solve the issue that I am about to tell you about. As the title says, I am getting the error: Library '/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/clang/17/lib/darwin/libclang_rt.profile_driverkit.a' not found I trimmed off part of that directory as I did not want to reveal that information about my computer. From what I can tell, the file in question is no longer even a part of Xcode. I have searched, it is not on my computer anywhere. I have also downloaded older versions of Xcode to search with it. None of them have it. I have literally tried everything under the Son to solve this issue. I have been stuck on it for two days. I have even resorted to doing something I hate, which is asking for ChatGPT to assist me with solving the issue. No help there. I am at my wits end. So I am coming to you guys, have you seen this error? Any ideas at all? The odds are pretty good whatever you recommend I have probably already tried 200 times over. But I am still open to hearing anything. Have any of you had this error? Any ideas? I am on the latest version of macOS. The project is for a macOS app. M4 Mac mini. Flutter: abnormal delay on iOS in position recovery on first opening
Good morning everyone, I am developing a Flutter app for Android and iOS. When I press a button, the app detects the location of the device (obviously with permissions already granted). On Android everything works correctly. On iOS, however, when I press the button for the first time after opening the app, the location is detected after about 30-50 seconds. On the other hand, if I repeat the operation later, the response time is drastically reduced (only a few seconds). I am using the location package (https://pub.dev/packages/location), and the code to get the location is as follows: var currentLocation = await location.getLocation(); Has anyone experienced this problem before or knows how to solve it? Thank you very much! Federico

Can the bundle ID for an unsubmitted app be reused?
I was developing an app using a certain bundle ID, but then had to delete it (and I also removed the app ID Identifier) My question is, can I make a new app with the exact same bundle ID as I was using on the removed one? Since the old app never went into production I don't see why that would be a problem

Federico

How to Open iOS Port 11000 for Visual Studio 2022 Debugging
Visual Studio 2022 is attempting to use port 11000 instead of 62078, but the port on iOS 18.5 is not listening for VS's Hot Reloading. Is this allowable? If so, how?
