I’ve recently updated to ios 18.4.1 and I have problems with the internet. Things download painfully slow, an application that used to download in 10 seconds is now downloading in 2 minutes. Videos tend to stop at some point and when i fast forward them it stops to load a little when on the previous version it would work fine. It feels like my internet aged 30 years in 10 minutes. I’ve tried on other phones (not iphones) and it works just fine. Is it from the update or is it just my internet?

As the title states, and it’s extremely frustrating. The floating bar that now appears above the keyboard is cool compared to the built in bar, though it seems to only work when it feels like it. Also the screen seems to have a haze around it, sometimes I cannot read whats needed because of it being blurred and it won’t allow me to navigate to certain things due to the haze being there too. Any way of rolling back my update and going back to my previous iOS?

Hey there, Just writing here to say how I do enjoy the latest update, but I can’t seem to run it on my iPhone 14 Pro well because it tends to overheat. i can deal with the stuttering issues and app crashes, that’s understandable, but for some reason the hardware seem to really heat up after normal use (scrolling on social media platforms). oh also, I do think rolling back your phone‘s software should be a simpler process as well. It’s not impossible, but the demand of a computer in reinstating a previous backup when iCloud backups your device through WiFi seems like a missed opportunity. Okay. Thank you for reading.

Right now, Apple’s iCloud Keychain (where saved passwords are stored) relies on the same authentication methods as your iPhone in general: Face ID or device passcode. This means: • If Face ID fails, it falls back to the device passcode. • Anyone with your passcode can unlock not only your phone but also your saved passwords by allowing the phone to go into the “enter iPhone password to view passwords” on the password app. Why this matters if someone knows or coerces your device passcode, they could potentially: • Bypass Face ID • Access sensitive password data • Compromise multiple accounts and could access all passwords I have saved on the password app. So, Let’s say my girlfriend knows my phone passcode, she pretty much then has access to all other password and backup codes I have saved on the password app. For this security vulnerability I believe it would be beneficial to introduce more advanced security options for accessing the Password section on iPhone. Specifically, 1. The ability to require Face ID only, without fallback to device passcode. 2. An option to set a dedicated password just for accessing the Passwords section (separate from the phone passcode). 3. Additional optional layers of protection, such as two-factor authentication or a biometric lock, that would prevent access even if someone knows the device passcode. These features would provide an extra level of security for users who are concerned about unauthorized access if someone gains access to their phone passcode.

When i say “forgot password” in the app store it allows me to reset with passcode but when i enter the passcode it’s different than the one i enter when i unlock the phone. what would cause this issue?

I would like to inquire about an error that has started occurring while debugging AppStore billing. (In sandbox environment) This error occurs after entering a password and completing the purchase process, and in this case, no completion alert appears. The error doesn't seem to depend on the purchase item, sandbox account, or device, and shows unstable behavior - sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing. Additionally, this error started occurring after special debugging where the network was disconnected during the purchase process. Moreover, the same error occurs in the TestFlight version of our already released normal (supposedly) version. I think this might be a sandbox-specific error where the system has temporarily become unstable, but what do you think? If so, how can I resolve this issue? I would appreciate your insights on the cause and appropriate response. I'm totally baffled by the changes Apple made on iOS18 about certificates usage in the built-in mail application. They decided that self-signed are not accepted any more, fine. As long as you can install your own root CA and trust it, it should be fine. But NO! They have also decided that mail will only accept IMAP servers using a domain name, no more just and IP address. So you can't get any IP-based certificate that will be accepted by the mail app, even with the right SAN and al. I've tried two "identical" certs, one with a domain and one with an IP and the domain works while the IP fails, being rejected as non-valid by the app. The most funny part is that the IP cert is good enough to configure mail (can see the successful login), but is being rejected when reading emails. I'm really fed up with the "Apple police" that wants to push us not using our own storage anymore. My se case is simple, I have an IMAP server that is used by family to archive all emails and keep them organized, saved forever and away from being scanned. I need to access that server either when locally connected or through VPN. For VPN, I use split tunnels because I don't want all traffic to go to tunnel. Nor do I want to create my own local DNS server and have all VPN clients use such DNS server only for the sake of having a domain name for the IMAP server. Nor do I want to open an external port to redirect to my IMAP server (that works of course as then I can use DDNS ...). Talk about increased security! This is insane

Since a recent macOS update (around one month ago), I’ve been experiencing a random issue on my MacBook Air (2023, M2). After the device enters sleep mode and I try to wake it, sometimes the screen stays black with only the cursor visible. The issue occurs randomly — not every time — but frequently enough to impact daily use. The system becomes completely unresponsive, and the only recovery method is a forced restart (holding the power button). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Leave the MacBook idle until it enters sleep automatically. 2. Wait for 10–30+ minutes. 3. Attempt to wake it using the keyboard, trackpad, or by opening the lid. 4. Randomly, the system fails to wake properly: screen turns on, shows a black background with a movable cursor, but nothing else appears. Expected Result: The system wakes normally and restores to the previous desktop session. Actual Result: The system randomly freezes on a black screen with a visible cursor. No user interface or login prompt appears. Requires a hard restart. System Information: • Device: MacBook Air 13”, M2, 2023 • macOS Version: [Insert exact version, e.g., macOS Sonoma 14.5] • Issue Since: Around one month ago (possibly after latest macOS update) • Peripherals: [Mention any external devices if applicable] • Reproducibility: Random (approximately 30–50% of the time after longer sleep) Additional Notes: • Issue is not consistent; sometimes the system wakes as expected. • Occurs regardless of whether on battery or plugged in. • No external monitors or USB accessories are connected when this happens.

It works if Bluetooth is on for a long time, is there any problem? I replied to the email three days ago and got no response. I tried again by requesting the subscription two days ago, but all I received was an automated message saying they would reply within two business days. What I did: I went to my Apple Developer account, clicked on Subscriptions, and entered my card details. They sent me an email saying they are preparing my order, but nothing else. I'm running IOS 18.5 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. If I delete an email on my iPhone, it is still in the inbox on my iMac. If I delete an email on my iMac it is deleted from the inbox on my iPhone. Is this because of the Beta software on my phone?
