Unable to change codesign page size during xcodebuild export
We've noticed, that size of our ipa started to vary from time to time. We've found that all the difference was in the LC_CODE_SIGNATURE command under the _LINKEDIT segment of binary. The main reason of that change was the different number of hash slots due to different value of page size: 4096 on macOS SEQUOIA and 16384 on macOS TAHOE. So the size of the final binary was dependent on the machine, it was produced on. I didn't find out any information on why the default page size changed on TAHOE. Apple’s codesign supports a --pagesize argument. For regular builds that setting can be passed via OTHER_CODE_SIGN_FLAGS=--pagesize 16384. But it seems that xcodebuild export ...` completely ignores it: i've tried to pass invalid size (not the power of two), and the export still succeded. I've also managed to get xcodebuild logs via log stream --style compact --predicate 'process == "xcodebuild" OR process == "codesign"' --level trace They have no occurrences of --pagesize: 2026-03-24 13:43:27.236 Df xcodebuild[93993:a08c53] [IDEDistributionPipeline:verbose] invoking codesign: <NSConcreteTask: 0x8a1b21bd0; launchPath='/usr/bin/codesign', arguments='( "-f", "-s", 8C38C4A2CB0388A3DB6BAEFE438F20E044EE6CB2, "--entitlements", "/var/folders/w_/5t00sclx2vlcm4_fvly7wvh00000gn/T/XcodeDistPipeline.~~~T3Dcdf/entitlements~~~c2srXx", "--preserve-metadata=identifier,flags,runtime,launch-constraints,library-constraints", "--generate-entitlement-der", "--strip-disallowed-xattrs", "-vvv", "/var/folders/w_/5t00sclx2vlcm4_fvly7wvh00000gn/T/XcodeDistPipeline.~~~T3Dcdf/Root/Payload/App.app/Frameworks/FLEXWrapper.framework" )'> So here I have some questions: How is the default page size selected? Why the default page size may change between SEQUOIA and TAHOE? How to provide page size to xcodebuild's export or it's a bug that it doesn't look at the value of OTHER_CODE_SIGN_FLAGS?

The signature of the binary is invalid
I tried building a macOS app with Electron, but I ran into problems during notarization. Notarization Issue – Team Not Configured
I came across your contact on the Apple Developer Forums. I'm encountering an unusual issue during the notarization process. The error message states: "Team is not yet configured for notarization. How to Share Provisioning Profiles with Customers for macOS App Distribution
I am distributing a macOS application outside the App Store using Developer ID and need to provide provisioning profiles to customers for installation during the package installation process. I have two questions: How can I package and provide the provisioning profile(s) so that the customer can install them easily during the application installation process? Are there any best practices or tools that could simplify this step? In my case, there are multiple provisioning profiles. Should I instruct the customer to install each profile one by one, or is there a way to combine them and have them installed all at once? Any insights, resources, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Family Control Entitlements not recognized when distributing
I have been approved for family controls entitlements and see them in my apple certificates for my bundle identifier. I see them listed for Distribution in my Runner, however, when I try to distribute I get the error that I do not have the right permissions. Do I need to get the entitlements for each extension I have as well? I have three extensions that use the family controls.

Error 7000 "Team is not yet configured for notarization" - Cannot notarize any apps
Error 7000 "Team is not yet configured for notarization" - Cannot notarize any apps I'm trying to notarize macOS apps for Developer ID distribution and consistently getting error 7000 on every submission. Error Details: { "status": "Rejected", "statusSummary": "Team is not yet configured for notarization. Please contact Developer Programs Support at aninterestingwebsite.com under the topic Development and Technical / Other Development or Technical Questions.", "statusCode": 7000 } What I've tried: Completed enrollment verification Created new App Store Connect API key with Admin access Created fresh App-Specific Password Submitted via both API key and App-Specific Password authentication All submissions are accepted and uploaded successfully, but after processing they're rejected with error 7000 Technical Details: Active Developer ID Application certificate Hardened runtime enabled Apps are properly code-signed (codesign -vvv passes) Behavior: Over 15 submissions since December 2nd - ALL rejected with the same error 7000. The submissions upload successfully and show "In Progress" for extended periods (sometimes hours) before eventually being rejected. Questions: Has anyone encountered error 7000 and resolved it? What was the fix? Are there any account settings or agreements required specifically for notarization that aren't obvious in the developer portal? Should I contact Apple Developer Support directly, or is there a self-service solution? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

App Groups Entitlement Mismatch Between Provisioning Profile and Xcode Requirements for iOS App Extension
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm experiencing a persistent issue with App Groups configuration for an iOS app extension that I can't resolve despite trying multiple approaches. I hope someone can help identify what I'm missing. Problem Description I'm getting this error when trying to build my iOS App Extension: Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.app-groups entitlement. My Setup Main App Bundle ID: com.idlrapp.Spleeft Extension Bundle ID: com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver App Group ID: group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared Extension Type: Action Extension (Share Sheet) What I've Verified App Group Creation ✅ Created App Group group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared in Apple Developer Portal ✅ App Group shows as "Active" in the portal App ID Configuration ✅ Both App IDs (com.idlrapp.Spleeft and com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver) have "App Groups" capability enabled ✅ Both App IDs are configured with the same App Group: group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared Entitlements Files Main App (Spleeft.entitlements): <key>com.apple.developer.app-groups</key> <array> <string>group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared</string> </array> Extension (SpleeftDataSaver.entitlements): <key>com.apple.developer.app-groups</key> <array> <string>group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared</string> </array> Xcode Configuration ✅ Both targets use "Automatically manage signing" ✅ Same Apple Developer Team selected for both ✅ App Groups capability shows correctly in Signing & Capabilities for both targets The Issue When I examine the downloaded .mobileprovision file, I can see it contains: <dict> <key>com.apple.security.application-groups</key> <array> <string>group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared</string> </array> <!-- Other entitlements... --> </dict> However, Xcode expects to find: <array> <string>group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared</string> </array> What I've Tried Multiple regenerations of provisioning profiles: Deleted all local provisioning profiles Toggled "Automatically manage signing" off/on Downloaded manual profiles from Developer Portal Verified App Group configuration: Double-checked App Group exists and is active Confirmed both App IDs have App Groups capability enabled Verified App Group assignment in both App IDs Entitlements cleanup: Ensured consistent App Group IDs across all files Removed duplicate/conflicting entries Clean builds and cache clearing: Product → Clean Build Folder Derived Data deletion Xcode restart Key Observation The provisioning profile contains com.apple.security.application-groups (which appears to be macOS-style) but Xcode expects com.apple.developer.app-groups (iOS-style) for the App Extension. Questions Is there a known issue with App Groups entitlement generation for iOS App Extensions? Should the provisioning profile contain com.apple.developer.app-groups instead of com.apple.security.application-groups? Is there a way to force regeneration of provisioning profiles with the correct entitlements? Are there additional steps required for App Extensions that differ from main apps? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This is blocking our App Extension development and we've exhausted our troubleshooting options. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Provisioning profile doesn't support the External Link Account capability
Hello, i have a problem. From one day to another i get following error (I never experienced this error with the same profile before) while trying to build and release my app via fastlane: exportArchive Provisioning profile "" doesn't support the External Link Account capability. Looking in the App developer website, it seems, that the existing and valid profile includes this capability. On the other side, inspecting the profile via xcode profile download, there is no hint that this capability is enabled. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Provisioning profile "..." doesn't include the com.apple.developer.deviceactivity entitlement
I'm working on an app that needs access to device activity. When I add device activity entitlement, I'm getting Provisioning profile "..." doesn't include the com.apple.developer.deviceactivity entitlement. This is failing for both, the main app and the extension, and both have entitlements added. It is not clear how to add it to the profile, the provisioning profile is created/managed by XCode. When I remove the entitlement, I can build my app but it won't be able to use device activity data I reached out to Developer Support, and they sent me here. What is the right way to add device activity entitlement? I'm also seeing another issue with XCode Cloud builds. When I remove device activity entitlement. I can build my app w/o any issue, and I can also install it directly on my iPhone. However, XCode Cloud builds fail wit Run command: 'xcodebuild -exportArchive -archivePath /Volumes/workspace/tmp/d41fc2f1-4f39-4906-8941-112488e75f6c.xcarchive -exportPath /Volumes/workspace/adhocexport -exportOptionsPlist /Volumes/workspace/ci/ad-hoc-exportoptions.plist '-DVTPortalRequest.Endpoint=http://172.16.68.193:8089' -DVTProvisioningIsManaged=YES -IDEDistributionLogDirectory=/Volumes/workspace/tmp/ad-hoc-export-archive-logs -DVTSkipCertificateValidityCheck=YES -DVTServicesLogLevel=3' I suspect that it could be related to my app having DeviceActivityExtension but no device activity entitlement is present. Thanks, Peter.

Notarization Stuck "In Progress"
Hello Colleagues, We have been seeing a delay in our Apple notarization submission that hangs for hours "in progress" without completing: This issue has been occurring since Friday, October 17th. We have also checked the Apple System Status page and there is no indication of any outage for Apple notarization.

Developer ID Notary Service - Outage
I’m unable to notarize the executable and the .app — the status has been showing “In Progress” for over an hour. Upon checking the xcrun logs, it indicates that the submission ID was not received. I also noticed there’s an Apple Developer Service outage reported since October 8, 2025. Could you please let me know when this outage is expected to be resolved? It would be very helpful.

app crashes
the iOS app store package's entitlements file has an issue. After updating to a new version to fix the entitlements file, the app still crashes upon opening but can function normally after a restart. What methods can the app side use to resolve this entitlements file issue without requiring a restart to open and use the app properly?

Cannot request SensorKit capability – “Request” form does not appear
Hi! We are trying to request the SensorKit entitlement (com.apple.developer.sensorkit.reader.allow) for a research app we’re working on. When we go to Apple Developer → Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Identifiers, we see the SensorKit capability listed under "Capability Requests", but: There’s no form or button to submit the request, unlike with other capabilities. We tested this using an Account Holder role, and also tried requesting other capabilities — which do show the form correctly, so this seems to be an issue specific to SensorKit. We’d appreciate any guidance on: Whether this is a known issue with the SensorKit request flow. If there’s an alternative way to request this capability while the form is unavailable. Thanks in advance!

macOS App Distributed via ZIP Cannot Open — Possible Code Signing / Notarization Issue
My team is distributing a cross-platform app outside the Mac App Store via ZIP file. The app works perfectly on Windows, but on macOS, while the ZIP downloads and extracts without issue, the app refuses to open. Users see either the app appear in the dock then immediately disappear or a Gatekeeper prompt saying the developer cannot be verified. We suspect the root cause is related to code signing and/or notarization, but we're not entirely sure where the breakdown is occurring. We have a few questions as we work through this. For ZIP-based distribution outside the Mac App Store, is both a Developer ID certificate and Apple notarization required on current macOS versions? We've also seen references to using ditto instead of Finder's built-in Compress option when packaging the ZIP. Is that necessary to properly preserve the app bundle structure and extended attributes? Any guidance on where this process might be going wrong would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Title: Notarization stuck "In Progress" 24+ hours - new Developer ID account
Team ID: LA64G2ZMY2. Submission f28e6a62-5a46-4554-a4b9-666269b3017f has been "In Progress" for over 24 hours. App is signed with hardened runtime, valid Developer ID certificate, HFS+ DMG format (not APFS - aware of DTS r. 134264492). Codesign verifies clean. All requirements met per Apple documentation. Is notarization provisioning needed for new accounts?

App signing
trying to deploy the LotBot app to my physical device, rtd2, which is listed as a device in the App Developer Portal. when I create a provision file it is always for W246SX52AS, as seen in the developer portal, but from Xcode I am showing a app id of "Apple Development: Richard Dukes (86537MF8N2)".

Thanks!
