iOS Subscriptions in Russia – Is Apple In-App Purchase mandatory or can local providers be used?
Hello, We are working on integrating billing into our dating app, targeted at the Russian market. Our main requirement is to support subscriptions with automatic renewal and cancellation. We understand that, according to App Store Review Guideline, all digital subscriptions should use Apple In-App Purchase (IAP). However, we are unsure how this applies in Russia, where some local regulations may limit the use of non-Russian payment processors, and where not all Russian bank cards are accepted by Apple. Our question is: -For iOS apps in Russia, is it strictly required to use Apple IAP for subscriptions? -Are there any approved exceptions allowing integration with local processors such as Robokassa or YooKassa? -How are other developers currently handling subscriptions for the Russian market? We want to ensure full compliance and avoid any risk of rejection or removal. Thank you in advance for any clarification. Best regards, Dan

Device selection on Apple Pay In-App provisioning is incorrect
I am encountering an issue with the in-app provisioning flow using PKAddPaymentPassViewController. Specifically, when presenting the controller to allow users to add a pass to Apple Wallet, the device selection screen is showing all the devices, even after setting the primaryAccountIdentifier on the PKAddPaymentPassRequestConfiguration. Here's the context: I'm using PKAddPaymentPassViewController for in-app provisioning. I provide a valid primaryAccountIdentifier in the configuration. But after adding the pass, if i print back the primaryAccountIdentifier it displays some other value different than the identifier i had set(Example masked identifier: FAPLMC1GB000000066aa4xxxxxxxxxxxa744f16axxxxxxxx). The provisioning flow works, but the device list shown to the user includes all the devices (e.g., Apple Watches and iPhone even though it is already added to Apple Watch or iPhone).

Apple Pay Web Merchant Registration API
Hello, I am looking for some help on how to use the Apple Pay Web Merchant Registration API. Have been approved to use the API and attempted to test on a merchant ID set up for testing. Below are steps taken before the request. Create merchant ID com.test.merchant. Create Apple Pay Merchant Identity Certificate for using it with the request via p12. Create Platform Integrator platformintegrator.com.test With the below request, I am getting a 401. Any input would be much appreciated! curl --cert-type P12 --cert cert.p12:{password} -i -d '{\ "domainNames":["customer.test.com"],\ "partnerMerchantName": "customer.test.com",\ "partnerInternalMerchantIdentifier":"customer.test.com"}'\ "encryptTo":"com.test.merchant",\ https://apple-pay-gateway-cert.apple.com/paymentservices/registerMerchant The response: { "statusMessage": "Payment Services Exception Unauthorized", "statusCode": "401" } Also tried using the platformintegrator.com.test for the encryptTo but resulted in a 401 as well.

Adding a previous card to Apple Wallet and Express Travel Enabled
We are working with a large fintech org on project connected with provisioning payment cards to Apple Wallet. When we add a previously provisioned card to the Wallet (using the Wallet UI, Add card -> Previous card). It adds the card on one device showing the Express Travel card screen after the card is added allowing the user to set the card as an express travel card during the provisioning flow but never on our other devices. All of the test devices are clean and have only the same single card provisioned. What triggers the Express Travel Card screen to be shown during the add previous card flow? (Why is it showing on one device and not another).

Using a merchant session from an external website in PKPaymentAuthorizationController?
There's a purchase I make pretty often on a particular site and I'm trying to automate the boring parts with a macOS app. I can pull the merchant session from their ValidateMerchant endpoint. I can see the Apple Pay dialogue appear, then it will disappear with "Payment Not Completed." Is it fundamentally not possible to use someone else's merchant session in your own app? Thanks

System canceled add payment pass - Apple Wallet
Hello All - I'm attempting to enable my companies app to add credit card to Apple Wallet. Part of our app enables customers to generate new virtual cards on demand and I'm attempting to enable the ability to add these cards to the Apple Wallet. Everything seems to be working all the way to the final stage of the process where I get a PKPassKitErrorDomain systemCancelled and I can't seem to find any clues as to why the system is canceling. For context - I have the com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning entitlement. I have both the Wallet and In-App Provisioning capabilities enabled in the App. I have defined a PKAddPaymentPassViewControllerDelegate class that implements both the generateRequest and didFinishAdding methods. I'm leveraging PKAddPaymentPassViewController in SwiftUI by using a UIViewControllerRepresentable implementing class that returns the view controller properly when makeUIViewController is called. I build a PKAddPaymentPassRequest object and ensure that it is properly filled with encryptedPassData, activationData, and ephemeralPublicKey. As a user I'm able to go to the virtual card view, open the instance of PKAddPaymentPassViewController, select the destination for the card, see the Add Card information. I get to the point where the view tells me it's contacting the card issuer and then I get an error message "Could Not Add Card - Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information" with a "Set Up Later" button. I then get the system canceled error. I should mention that I'm able to add these virtual cards manually via the Apple Wallet. The process works similarly but requires me to provided an OTP to conclude the process. This flow works and I have active cards in my wallet. I'm having a very hard time figuring out how to try and debug this issue further. The only error that the system returns is the system canceled notice. Any insight into where I might be missing something or how to debug the issue further would be greatly appreciated. Any thought on how I could debug this further would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - AYAL

Renewal of merchant Domains fails and redirects to main page without errors
Hello we are trying to renew our certificates. We are trying to extend the dates of verified domains following the docs https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/applepayontheweb/maintaining-your-environment#Renew-Your-Domain-Verification and configure our server with https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/ApplePayontheWeb/setting-up-your-server We've downloaded the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt and update it on their respective locations, click 'ok' button but we get redirected to the main page of the information of the merchant, and it shows the domains without the extending period of time. No popup showing what has failed or what could be the reason of this error, we only get a redirection to the main page.

In-App Provisioning: cannot add card to a wallet
We are developing an app which allows users to generate a HSBC virtual card using Mastercard API and add this card to an apple wallet. Staging test was passed successfully, but we are stuck in a production test phase. T&C is not even visible, 'Card is not added' is popped on a screen before that. User taps “Add to Apple Wallet” → we present PKAddPaymentPassViewController → they tap Next → after a few seconds the flow fails with "Set Up Later" alert. Stability issues with Apple Pay Sandbox Cards
We are writing to report a recurring stability issue with the Apple Pay sandbox environment. We are using the official sandbox test cards provided on the Apple Developer website for our testing: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/apple-pay/sandbox-testing/ We are experiencing frequent, intermittent failures when attempting to add these sandbox cards to the Wallet for testing purposes. The issue typically occurs a couple of times per day. When the failure occurs, the card provisioning process fails unexpectedly. The issue is not limited to a single card; we have observed this behavior across all available card networks. In some instances, all cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex) fail to provision simultaneously. At other times, the issue appears to be isolated to specific networks while others work correctly. Crucially, the issue appears to be temporary. After some time passes (ranging from minutes to an hour), we are able to add the exact same card successfully without making any changes to our test environment or configuration. We have diligently checked our setup to rule out configuration errors on our end. This includes verifying: The device is set to a supported region. We are signed in with a valid sandbox tester Apple ID. All other prerequisites for sandbox testing are met. The fact that the process works correctly at other times strongly suggests that this is a server-side stability issue within the Apple Pay sandbox environment rather than a persistent misconfiguration on our part. To help with your investigation, we have attached an image that demonstrates a failed attempt to add a card. Could you please investigate the stability of the sandbox card provisioning service? Please let us know if this is a known issue or if there is any further information we can provide. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Question Regarding API Access Restrictions for Non-Published (STG) iOS Apps
We have been informed by a third-party subscription tracking service(Adjust) that, due to the following specification of App Store Connect, it is not possible to connect an STG app (a non-published testing app) with their server: Specification: Since Apple’s API only allows access for apps that are already published, it is not possible to enable subscription tracking for iOS apps that are not yet published. Could you please confirm if our understanding of this specification is correct? Additionally, is there any method or recommended approach to verify subscription tracking behavior with an STG (non-published) app before the app is released? Thank you very much for your support.

Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues
Hi, You're here because you've had issues with your implementation of In-App Provisioning Extensions for Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a new report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below with the appropriate log profiles installed. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device: Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The bundle IDs App bundle ID Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) The serial number of the device. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number. The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number. The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced. The type of provisioning failure (e.g., error at Terms & Conditions, error when adding a card, etc.) The issuer/network/country of the provisioned card (e.g., Mastercard – US) Last 4 digits of the FPAN Last 4 digits of the DPAN (if available) Was this test initiated from the Issuer App? (e.g., yes or no) The type of environment (e.g., sandbox or production) Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Apple Pay client. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your client, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Apple Pay 3dSecure Version for Mastercard
We have finished integrating Apple Pay in our app and our payment processor is requiring us to send the 3dSecure version used for apple pay (2.1,2.2,2.3,etc.). I believe this only applies to mastercard but would appreciate if anyone has run into something similar and what you specified. I have not been able to find anything in Apple's documentation specifying the version that is used.

In-app provisioning, UnsupportedVersionError when submitting PKAddPaymentPassRequest with test data from TSP.
Hello, I am setting up a feature for my company's banking app that allows users to add their payment/debit card they have with us to the Apple Wallet on their device. We have the in-app provisioning entitlement setup and configured in the app and configured with our banking partner/TSP. We are able to manually provision production environment cards via the Wallet app. I am using test card data from my TSP. I send them the two certificates, nonce, and nonce signature data and am given activationData, encryptedPassData, and an ephmeralPublicKey that we then set on an instance of PKAddPaymentPassRequest. We call the handler on the delegate method that is called with that request object and get an error: The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKPassKitErrorDomain error 2.) Looking at the PassKit library shows this is PKUnsupportedVersionError - Unsupported pass version. Our TSP hasn't been super helpful in troubleshooting this issue and just said we should contact Apple as it is an Apple error. I am trying to figure out if the issue is with how we are implementing the feature or with the test data itself given to us.

Issue with Top-Up Flow on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 18.6.2) in TestFlight
Hi Apple Team and Developers, I’ve been testing the Top-up flow in our app via the TestFlight environment. Across multiple devices (around 10 tested), everything works fine with no issues. However, on one specific device — iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.6.2 — I’ve noticed an intermittent issue: When performing a Top-up, the Apple UI first shows a successful purchase confirmation. Immediately afterward, another UI prompt appears asking the player to re-enter their Apple ID password. At the same time, Apple returns a ghost string that we cannot use to verify the user’s package bundle ID. This creates potential confusion for users, as they see both a success confirmation and an unexpected password prompt. I’m unsure if this behavior is expected or if there’s a recommended way to handle or prevent this issue. Has anyone else encountered something similar, or does Apple have a suggested fix/workaround for this? For reference, here’s a short video of the issue in action: \🔗 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ml-QpEu4ocoxn-W3wEMsFMbXy2QdwbHB/view?usp=sharing Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!

App Fails to Access Added Passes
We’ve integrated in-app card provisioning into our application. All required configurations have been completed, including: Token Service Provider (TSP) setup Certificates uploaded to the Apple Developer portal While the card is successfully added to the Wallet app, our application is currently unable to retrieve or read the added passes.
