Significantly Delayed App Review
Hi all, Like others my app submission has been stuck in “waiting for review” for weeks. I know initial app reviews take longer than updates, but this has been delayed far too long and makes me concerned about repeating the process in the future. I submitted this app for review back on Feb 10. It was initially rejected for a minor issue, which I resolved and resubmitted the same day. After that, the build remained in “Waiting for Review” for about two weeks with no further communication. At that point I canceled the submission and resubmitted the build, thinking it may have been stuck in the queue (I now know not to do this next time). Unfortunately the new submission has also been waiting for review for another 9 days now with no messages or updates. I’ve contacted app review support as well (case ID- 102826632729). I understand review times can vary, but delays like this make it difficult for developers to plan launches or push updates when the review process is the only path to distributing apps. As paying members of the Apple Developer Program, we rely heavily on this pipeline functioning reliably. Hoping this post will reach someone from Apple who can help move the process along. If any other devs have suggestions/tips that have worked for them, please share so others in this position can become unblocked. Thanks in advance.

Greetings! How to sign a DEXT
Kevin's Guide to DEXT Signing The question of "How do I sign a DEXT" comes up a lot, so this post is my attempt to describe both what the issues are and the best current solutions are. So... The Problems: When DEXTs were originally introduced, the recommended development signing process required disabling SIP and local signing. There is a newer, much simpler process that's built on Xcode's integrated code-signing support; however, that newer process has not yet been integrated into the documentation library. In addition, while the older flow still works, many of the details it describes are no longer correct due to changes to Xcode and the developer portal. DriverKit's use of individually customized entitlements is different than the other entitlements on our platform, and Xcode's support for it is somewhat incomplete and buggy. The situation has improved considerably over time, particularly from Xcode 15 and Xcode 16, but there are still issues that are not fully resolved. To address #1, we introduced "development" entitlement variants of all DriverKit entitlements. These entitlement variants are ONLY available in development-signed builds, but they're available on all paid developer accounts without any special approval. They also allow a DEXT to match against any hardware, greatly simplifying working with development or prototype hardware which may not match the configuration of a final product. Unfortunately, this also means that DEXT developers will always have at least two entitlement variants (the public development variant and the "private" approved entitlement), which is what then causes the problem I mentioned in #2. The Automatic Solution: If you're using Xcode 16 or above, then Xcode's Automatic code sign support will work all DEXT Families, with the exception of distribution signing the PCI and USB Families. For completeness, here is how that Automatic flow should work: Change the code signing configuration to "Automatic". Add the capability using Xcode. (USB & PCI) Edit your Entitlement.plist to include the correct "Development Only" configuration: USB Development Only Configuration: <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb</key> <array> <dict> <key>idVendor</key> <string>*</string> </dict> </array> PCI Development Only Configuration: <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.pci</key> <array> <dict> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0xFFFFFFFF&0x00000000</string> </dict> </array> If you've been approved for one of these entitlements, the one oddity you'll see is that adding your approved capability will add both the approved AND the development variant, while deleting either will delete both. This is a visual side effect of #2 above; however, aside from the exception described below, it can be ignored. Similarly, you can sign distribution builds by creating a build archive and then exporting the build using the standard Xcode flow. Debugging Automatic Code-signing In a new project, the flow I describe above should just work; however, if you're converting an existing project, you may get code signing errors, generally complaining about how the provisioning profile configuration doesn't match. In most cases, this happens because Xcode is choosing to reuse a previously downloaded profile with an older configuration instead of generating a new configuration which would then include the configuration changes you made. Currently, you can find these profile files in: ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/UserData/Provisioning Profiles ...which can make it easier to find and delete the specific profile (if you choose). However, one recommendation I'd have here is to not treat the contents of that folder as "precious" or special. What automatic code signing actually does is generate provisioning profiles "on demand", so if you delete an automatic profile... Xcode will just generate it again at the next build. Manually generating profiles is more cumbersome, but the solution there is to preserve them as a separate resource, probably as part of your project data, NOT to just "lose" them in the folder here. If they get deleted from Xcode's store, then you can just copy them back in from your own store (or using Xcode, which can manually download profiles as well). The advantage of this approach is that when profiles "pile up" over time (which they tend to do), you can just delete[1] all of them then let Xcode regenerate the ones you're actually trying to investigate. In terms of looking at their contents, TN3125: Inside Code Signing: Provisioning Profiles has the details of how to see exactly what's there. [1] Moving them somewhere else works too, but could indicate a fear of commitment. __ Kevin Elliott DTS Engineer, CoreOS/Hardware

DriverKit entitlement policy clarification for development purposes
I am seeking clarification on whether the various driverkit entitlement families (com.apple.developer.driverkit.family.*) are available for development on my local Mac without requesting entitlements from Apple. My experience is inconsistent with public statements made by Apple, and I am wondering if there have been changes to development entitlements as of 2026. I am hoping there is something obvious that I have missed. At WWDC2022 Apple stated that "In MacOS... In fact, all DriverKit family entitlements are now available to use for development." On these very forums, Eskimo himself also suggested this was the case in 2024. However, my own experience has been that in my provisioning profile on my paid developer account, I am not able to obtain com.apple.developer.driverkit.family.networking for the purpose of developing a driver for unsupported hardware. As you can see, I do not have the networking entitlement: { .. "Entitlements" => { ... "com.apple.developer.driverkit" => true "com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb" => [ 0 => { "idVendor" => "*" } ] And there appears to be no mechanism to add these entitlement:

APP WAITING FOR REVIEW 20+ DAYS
My app has been stuck in the "In Review" state for over 20 days now (submitted in mid-February). It is now March, and I have had zero movement. What I’ve checked: Resolution Center: Empty. No pending questions or requests. Account Status: Active and in good standing. This delay is severely impacting our launch timeline. Is anyone else experiencing a similar "Black Hole" right now, or is it just me? If you managed to get yours unstuck, what did you do? Any advice from Apple staff or fellow devs would be greatly appreciated.

App in Review Since Feb 25 – Time-Sensitive Sports App – Seeking Guidance
Hello App Review Team and iOS Developer Community, We submitted our iOS application on February 25, and within a few hours its status changed to “In Review.” Shortly after that, we received a call from the App Review team requesting some clarification. We provided the requested information during the call, and the same request was later posted in App Store Connect as an unresolved issue. We responded to the request within an hour, providing all the necessary details. However, since then we have not received any further updates regarding the review status. Because this application is related to upcoming sports events, the timing is quite critical. Our client, who owns the sports rights, had planned a launch event on March 6, but unfortunately it had to be postponed because the iOS app was not yet available on the App Store. The sports events are scheduled to begin next week, and our client is planning a marketing campaign ahead of the events, which depends on the app being available. We have already: Submitted an Expedited Review request Contacted Apple Support twice via email At the moment we are unsure how to proceed, as we expected the review process to be completed within the typical 24 hour timeframe mentioned in Apple’s documentation. Does anyone know if there is any additional way to contact the App Review team or any steps we can take to help move the review forward? If any Apple staff member is able to look into this, we would be happy to provide the App ID or additional details via a private support channel if needed. Thank you for your support.

My app has been sitting in Waiting for Review for 3 weeks
Hello everyone, I am an iOS developer and my new app is having a long, unusual App Store review delay that I have not been able to resolve through the normal support channels. I have requested expedition, called every single day after a week of waiting and still no rejection, request additional information, or any sort of update. AppleID: 6759011581 Please help me resolve this issue, I have already had to push back multiple stakeholder meetings and deadlines.

Three Apps Stuck in “Waiting for Review” for Over a Month – No Responses Received
Hello, I am trying to understand what is happening with my submissions because the situation has become very unusual. I currently have three applications in the App Store review queue: • Healthoria – submitted Feb 5, 7:01 PM • OrbitGoals – submitted Feb 17, 4:11 PM • Memochron – submitted Mar 10 All three of them are still in “Waiting for Review.” The first submission has now been waiting for over a month. During this time I have sent support emails and submitted an expedited review request, but I have not received any response or update. What makes this situation more confusing is that most developers report review times of 2–3 days. Seeing my apps remain in the queue for weeks without any communication makes it difficult to understand whether there is a technical issue, an account-related delay, or something else affecting the process. I completely understand that review times can vary, but having three separate apps all stuck in the same stage for this long seems highly unusual. If anyone from Apple or other developers have experienced a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate any clarification or guidance. Thank you. Best regards, Berkay

App stuck in “Waiting for Review” for days – No progress from Apple review team
Hello, I submitted my app for review several days ago, but the status is still “Waiting for Review.” It appears that nobody from the Apple review team has started reviewing the app yet. This situation is extremely frustrating and unacceptable for developers who depend on timely reviews to maintain and release their applications. Waiting days, weeks, or even a month just to receive a potential rejection due to a fixable issue wastes a significant amount of time for development teams. The main problem is not only the delay itself, but the lack of progress. The status remains stuck at "Waiting for Review", which suggests that the review process has not even begun. I have also noticed that many other developers are currently experiencing the same issue, which suggests that this may be a broader problem affecting the App Store review system. Could someone from Apple please clarify: Why apps are staying in “Waiting for Review” for so long Whether there is currently a backlog or system issue affecting reviews What developers can do to avoid these long delays At this point, I would really appreciate an immediate solution or at least an explanation for what is happening with the review process. Guideline 1.2 Compliance Notice — Build Awaiting Review, 14-Day Deadline Approaching
Hello, I received a Guideline 1.2 compliance notice for my app OMG: Video Chat (Apple ID: 6756574665) on March 7, 2026, with a 14-day deadline to submit a compliant update. The issues raised in the notice — random matching and anonymous chat — were already resolved in the current live version of the app prior to receiving the notice. Specifically: Random matching has been completely removed. Users browse profiles and choose who to connect with. All calls require mutual consent via Accept/Decline. Sign in with Apple is mandatory — no anonymous or guest access exists. Selfie-based age verification is active. Full moderation system is in place: content filtering, user reporting, blocking, and 24/7 monitoring. I responded to the notice on March 7 with a detailed explanation, screen recording, and screenshots demonstrating the current app flow. I also submitted a compliant build and requested an expedited review. As of today (March 12), I have received no acknowledgment, no feedback, and the build has not entered review. The deadline is March 21. I have also contacted Developer Support, the App Review Board, and sent a direct email to the App Review team — all without a substantive response. I have done everything required on my end. The delay is entirely outside of my control. I am respectfully requesting assistance to ensure my build is reviewed before the deadline. Thank you for any help.

Family Controls entitlement stuck in “Submitted” for ShieldAction extension
Hi everyone, I'm running into what appears to be a stuck Family Controls entitlement request and wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar. Request ID: 9D7MU547QH The request is still showing a status of "Submitted". Context: • Our main app bundle ID was already approved for the Family Controls entitlement. • Two related extensions (ShieldConfiguration and DeviceActivityMonitor) were also approved within a few days. • The remaining request is for a ShieldAction extension, which handles button taps from the shield UI. This entitlement is currently blocking our business's beta testing, so we’re trying to understand whether this is just normal queue delay or if the request might be stuck. Has anyone seen a case where the main app and other extensions were approved but a ShieldAction request remained in "Submitted" for an extended period? If an Apple engineer happens to see this, I’d greatly appreciate any guidance on whether the request might be stuck in the review queue. Thank you!

Is it possible to download or copy the iOS SDK for Xcode 26.1 using command-line tools? If so, how?
I have Xcode 26.1.1 (installed on a Mac Mini with Sequoia 15.7.2), which was installed from the Universal .xip file available from the Apple Developer site. This file is 2.7Gb. When Xcode is run, there is a menu item at Settings -> Components, and the top section "Platform Support" includes an option to "Get" the iOS SDK, which is an additional 10.3Gb download.[1][2] I would like to either use command-line tools to obtain this iOS SDK component, or find where the downloaded package or its contents are installed on this Mac. This Apple Documentation some examples of using command-line tools to download components for Xcode. However, there is no specific documentation on how to separately download the iOS SDK. It seems that if possible, it could be done with "xcodebuild -downloadComponent", however I have tried a number of likely component names (ios, ios_sdk, ios26.1, ios_sdk26.1, iphoneos, iphoneos_sdk, iphoneos_sdk26.1), and none are valid. Does anyone know either where the SDK download can be found, or how to download it using command-line tools? Background: I require this as I am managing a fleet of Mac Minis located in a data centre (used for iOS/Android builds), and Internet access is restricted - any action requiring Internet access needs the Mac to be removed from the machine room racks and taken to a build room, then connected to a mobile hotspot or similar. This access is slow, and the above 10.3Gb download can take over an hour. If I can download the SDK separately, I can distribute it to all of the Macs over the internal network overnight, in advance of visiting the DC for upgrade tasks. [1] Various web sites say that the iOS SDK is "bundled with" Xcode. However, if that's the case a) how is a 10.3Gb download somehow included in a 2.7Gb file? And b) why do I still need to "Get" this component after installing Xcode from the 2.7Gb file? [2] Note that I am not looking for the iOS Simulator, I have already downloaded the iOS 26.1 version of this. I am specifically looking for the iOS SDK as listed under "Platform Support" in the Xcode menu described above.

Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement request stuck on "Submitted" for 2+ weeks — no follow-up number received
Hello, I submitted a Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement request on February 25, 2026 for my prayer/productivity app that uses the Screen Time API to block distracting apps. I also submitted requests for two extensions on March 6, 2026: com.prayfirst.prayFirst.ShieldAction com.prayfirst.prayFirst.ShieldConfiguration All three requests still show "Submitted" status in the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles portal with no progress. I contacted Apple Developer Support (Case #102839422791), and they mentioned I should have received a "follow-up number" after submission — but I never received one. This entitlement is the only blocker preventing me from building and distributing my app. Could a DTS engineer please assist or escalate this? Team ID: BH752TBX9L Thank you.

App Attest Validation & Request
I'm trying to confirm the correct URL for Apple Attest development. There seems to be a fraud metric risk section that uses this: https://data-development.appattest.apple.com/v1/attestationData However the key verification seems to use this: https://data-development.appattest.apple.com/v1/attestation Currently I'm attempting to verify the key, so the second one seems likely. However I keep receiving a 404 despite vigorous validation of all fields included in the JSON as well as headers. Can anyone confirm please, which URL I should be sending my AppleAttestationRequest to?

Need help updating contact information in Apple Developer Program enrollment
Hello, I recently submitted an enrollment request for the Apple Developer Program as an organization. After submitting the request, I realized that I entered incorrect contact information for the person authorized to confirm my authority to enroll the organization. I would like to update the email address for this contact. I already contacted Apple Developer Support by email but have not received a response yet. Is there a way to update this information while the enrollment is still under review? Or should I cancel the request and submit a new one? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Increase Contrast reduces List selection contrast in dark appearance in SwiftUI NavigationSplitView
[Submitted as FB22200608] With Increase Contrast turned on, the selected row highlight in a List behaves inconsistently between light and dark appearance on iPad. In light appearance the blue selection highlight correctly becomes darker, but in dark appearance it becomes lighter instead. The text contrast ratio drops from about 3:1 to about 1.5:1, well below accessibility guidelines. This reproduces both in the simulator and on a physical device. The sample uses a standard SwiftUI List inside NavigationSplitView with built-in selection styling. No custom colors or styling are applied. REPRO STEPS Create a new Multiplatform project. Replace ContentView with code below. Build and run on iPad. Select an item in the list. Turn on Dark appearance (Cmd-Shift-A in Simulator). Turn on Increase Contrast (Cmd-Control-Shift-A in Simulator). Observe the selected row highlight. ACTUAL In light appearance, the blue selection highlight becomes darker when Increase Contrast is on, improving contrast as expected. In dark appearance, the blue selection highlight becomes lighter when Increase Contrast is on, reducing contrast between the selection background and the white text. EXPECTED Increase Contrast should consistently increase contrast. In dark appearance, the selection highlight should become darker—or otherwise increase contrast with the foreground text—not lighter. SAMPLE CODE struct ContentView: View { @State private var selection: String? var body: some View { NavigationSplitView { Text("Sidebar") } content: { List(selection: $selection) { Text("Item One") .tag("One") Text("Item Two") .tag("Two") } } detail: { if let selection { Text(selection) } else { Text("Select an item") } } } } SCREEN RECORDING CONTACTS The Contacts app behaves correctly. When Increase Contrast is turned on, the selection blue becomes darker, improving contrast. PASSWORDS The Passwords app, however, exhibits the issue. With Increase Contrast turned on, the selection blue becomes lighter instead of darker, reducing contrast.

Xcode 26.4 Beta 2 - Missing Capability, Family Controls App & Website Usage
Hi One of the new Family Control API's requires the new "Family Controls App & Website Usage" capability but it appears to be missing in the latest Xcode beta (26.4 B2). MacOS and iOS all running 26.4 Beta 3. Does anyone know if we have to wait for Xcode 26.4 Beta 3 and it's associated SDK's for this one to become available?
