UIBarButtonItem alignment in UIToolbar on iOS 26 in UIDesignRequiresCompatibility mode
The screenshot is showing the same app deployed using Xcode version 26.0 beta 4 (17A5285i) on iOS 18.5 and on iOS 26.0. In iOS 26 beta 4 on the right the spacing of the UIBarButtonItem elements does not look good: The buttons are created like so: colorButtonText = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage systemImageNamed:@"paintbrush"] style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(drawingActionColor:)]; //... [drawingToolbarText setItems:@[colorButtonText, ...]]; Is this a known issue with the current iOS 26? Am I doing something wrong?

PSA: UISceneDelegate.openURLContexts called twice sometimes in iOS 26
If you use UISceneDelegate's scene(_ scene: UIScene, openURLContexts URLContexts: Set<UIOpenURLContext>) to handle deep links (such as tapping a widget) you might run into an issue where this callback is called twice in the majority of cases. If you push a view controller in response to this, you might end up with two pushed view controllers, if you do not mitigate this. Fatal safeAreaInsets Error on Certain iOS/iPadOS 26 Devices
Fatal safeAreaInsets Error on Certain iOS/iPadOS 26 Devices On certain devices that have updated to iOS/iPadOS 26, the safeAreaInsets value is displayed incorrectly when rotating. On the iPhone SE3, the safeAreaInsets.top value is displayed inverted when rotating. It should return 20.0 when rotated vertically and 0.0 when rotated horizontally. Currently, the value is reversed. (0.0 when rotated horizontally and 20.0 when rotated vertically.) On iPad Pro devices, the safeAreaInsets.top value is always returned as 0.0 when the app is first launched. (This issue is believed to occur on all iPad devices, including the iPad Pro.) If the user subsequently rotates the iPad, the safeAreaInsets value is returned correctly. On the iPhone 17 with dynamic islands, the safeAreaInsets value is displayed correctly. My guess is that all devices running iOS/iPadOS 26 without dynamic islands will experience an issue where the safeAreaInsets value is displayed incorrectly. This issue occurs when building with Xcode 26. Apple, please issue an OS update as soon as possible. Or, if this is an Xcode issue, please update Xcode.

Missing Top Separator in .plain UITableView Sections on iOS 26
Hi Apple Team and community, We've noticed a change in how UITableView separators are rendered in iOS 26 (tested using Xcode 26.0), and we'd like to confirm if this is an intentional behaviour change or a potential bug. Issue Description In a .plain-style UITableView, the top separator line above the first cell in each section is no longer rendered in iOS 26. We've confirmed that this separator is also absent from the view hierarchy. This issue did not occur in previous iOS versions (e.g., iOS 18), where the top separator above the first cell of a section was rendered as expected. The issue doesn't occur for UITableView with no sections. Expected Behavior When using a .plain style UITableView, the standard top separator should appear above the first cell of each section, as part of the default system rendering. Actual Behavior In iOS 26, this top separator is missing, even though the rest of the separators render normally. iOS 26 UITabBar (swift_getObjectType) crash
We’ve recently updated our app to adopt the native iOS 26 tab bar. Since then, we’ve started seeing crashes on iOS 26 devices with swift_getObjectType appearing in the stack. I’ve reviewed the logs in Organizer but couldn’t find anything conclusive. CarPlay on iOS 14 and iOS 15
My app developed with the new Xcode 26 doesn't appear on CarPlay when running on iOS 14–15 devices. My developer has obtained the com.apple.developer.carplay-driving-task permission, but iOS 16+ devices allow my app to display on CarPlay. Can anyone help resolve this issue? Is it because the carplay-driving-task permission is only available for iOS 16+ devices? If I want compatibility with iOS 14–15 devices, do I need to apply to Apple for the carplay-audio permission to use it? Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Thanks!

Setting alternate app icon fails with "Ressource temporarily not available"
Switching alternative app icons previously worked in my app and I did not notice when it broke. However now the completion handler consistently returns this error if feeding with either an existing app icon name or a fictional one. Is this a regression I should file a bug report for or am I doing something wrong here? The new navigationLinkIndicatorVisibility modifier crashes on < iOS 26
This new modifier is supposedly backported to iOS 17, but on attempting to use it on the latest iOS 18.5, this happens: Symbol not found: _$s7SwiftUI17EnvironmentValuesV33_navigationIndicatorVisibilityABIAA0G0OvpMV This happens with any usage of the modifier. An availability check won't save you either. The cruelest part of this is that I only need the modifier on iOS 26, lmao. Am I just missing something?

[iOS 26] Can no longer detect whether iPhone has notch

Liquid Glass / iOS 26 Tab bar positions incorrectly on iPad; repositions correctly when re-opening app
I have a TabView (no modifiers) as the top-level view in my app. Starting with iOS 26 it starts off partially "under" the Status Bar, and then repositions if I switch between apps. Starting Point After Switching To/From Another App In the simulator, pressing "Home" and then reopening the app will fix it. Anyone else seeing something similar? Is there a modifier I'm missing on TabView that might prevent this behaviour? Thanks!

Incorrect system color on popover view, and does not update while switching dark mode on iOS 26 beta 3
All system colors are displayed incorrectly on the popover view. Those are the same views present as a popover in light and dark mode. And those are the same views present as modal. And there is also a problem that when the popover is presented, switching to dark/light mode will not change the appearance. That affected all system apps. The following screenshot is already in dark mode. All those problem are occured on iOS 26 beta 3.

Accessing an actor's isolated state from within a SwiftUI view
I'm trying to understand a design pattern for accessing the isolated state held in an actor type from within a SwiftUI view. Yet I can't understand how to display this data in a view. App Clip Card’s “Open” Button takes 2–3 seconds to become active on first load
We are currently implementing App Clips in our app. While we have carefully optimized the App Clip size to keep it lightweight (~3.69MB), we have noticed that on the first load, displaying the App Clip Card and activating the “Open” button takes a surprisingly long time (approximately 2–3 seconds). Subsequent loads appear to perform normally. We understand that this behavior may not be directly controllable from the app development side, but we would like to know if there are any possible ways to improve it. Minimizing the time it takes for users to access the content is extremely important, as delays on the first interaction can negatively impact the user experience. Any guidance or best practices to make the App Clip Card and its “Open” button respond faster on first load would be greatly appreciated.

Image sizing in context menus on Tahoe via Catalyst
I've got a Catalyst app that exposes some custom context menu items via the buildMenu API. When it runs on Tahoe, there's some weirdness with how the images in the menu items are sized. See attached screenshot below. The three items on the bottom are using SF Symbols for their images, and the rest are using custom images from an asset catalog. Is this a bug in Tahoe 26.0? Or should I be resizing my images before giving them to UIAction? If the latter, what should the size be, and is this documented somewhere or available from an API?

SwiftUI Chart scrolling on macOS
I'm running macOS 26.3 and using Xcode 26.4. I'm trying to create a SwiftUI Chart that can scroll horizontally. In the SwiftUI Preview, and also running the app on macOS, the chart displays a scrollbar, but the scrollbar does not respond to mouse interaction (dragging the scrollbar, or clicking in the gutters on either side of the scrollbar). Invalid parameter not satisfying: parentEnvironment != nil
Since the beta releases of iPadOS 26 we have been having some crashes about Invalid parameter not satisfying: parentEnvironment != nil We got to contact a couple of users and we found out that the crash appears when entering a screen in a UINavigationController with the iPad device connected to a Magic Keyboard. If the device is not connected to the keyboard then nothing happens and everything works ok. Back gesture not disabled with navigationBarBackButtonHidden(true) when using .zoom transition
[Submitted as FB22226720] For a NavigationStack destination, applying .navigationBarBackButtonHidden(true) hides the back button and also disables the interactive left-edge back gesture when using the standard push navigation transition. However, when the destination uses .navigationTransition(.zoom), the back button is hidden but the left-edge back gesture is still available—it can still be dismissed even though back is intentionally suppressed. This creates inconsistent behavior between navigation transition styles. navigationBarBackButtonHidden(_:) works with a standard push transition, but not with .navigationTransition(.zoom). In the code below, .interactiveDismissDisabled(true) is also applied as another attempt to suppress the back-swipe gesture, but it has no effect. As a result, there’s currently no clean way to prevent back navigation when using the zoom transition. REPRO STEPS Create an iOS project then replace ContentView with code below, build and run. Leave nav type set to List Push. Open an item. Verify there is no back button, then try the left-edge back gesture. Return to the root view. Change nav type to Grid Zoom. Open an item. Verify there is no back button, then try the left-edge back gesture. ACTUAL In List Push mode, the left-edge back gesture is prevented. UIBarButtonItem alignment in UIToolbar on iOS 26 in UIDesignRequiresCompatibility mode
The screenshot is showing the same app deployed using Xcode version 26.0 beta 4 (17A5285i) on iOS 18.5 and on iOS 26.0. PSA: UISceneDelegate.openURLContexts called twice sometimes in iOS 26
If you use UISceneDelegate's scene(_ scene: UIScene, openURLContexts URLContexts: Set<UIOpenURLContext>) to handle deep links (such as tapping a widget) you might run into an issue where this callback is called twice in the majority of cases. If you push a view controller in response to this, you might end up with two pushed view controllers, if you do not mitigate this. Fatal safeAreaInsets Error on Certain iOS/iPadOS 26 Devices On certain devices that have updated to iOS/iPadOS 26, the safeAreaInsets value is displayed incorrectly when rotating. On the iPhone SE3, the safeAreaInsets.top value is displayed inverted when rotating. It should return 20.0 when rotated vertically and 0.0 when rotated horizontally. Currently, the value is reversed. (0.0 when rotated horizontally and 20.0 when rotated vertically.) On iPad Pro devices, the safeAreaInsets.top value is always returned as 0.0 when the app is first launched. (This issue is believed to occur on all iPad devices, including the iPad Pro.) If the user subsequently rotates the iPad, the safeAreaInsets value is returned correctly. On the iPhone 17 with dynamic islands, the safeAreaInsets value is displayed correctly. My guess is that all devices running iOS/iPadOS 26 without dynamic islands will experience an issue where the safeAreaInsets value is displayed incorrectly. This issue occurs when building with Xcode 26. Apple, please issue an OS update as soon as possible. Or, if this is an Xcode issue, please update Xcode.

Missing Top Separator in .plain UITableView Sections on iOS 26
Hi Apple Team and community, We've noticed a change in how UITableView separators are rendered in iOS 26 (tested using Xcode 26.0), and we'd like to confirm if this is an intentional behaviour change or a potential bug. Issue Description In a .plain-style UITableView, the top separator line above the first cell in each section is no longer rendered in iOS 26. We've confirmed that this separator is also absent from the view hierarchy. This issue did not occur in previous iOS versions (e.g., iOS 18), where the top separator above the first cell of a section was rendered as expected. The issue doesn't occur for UITableView with no sections. Expected Behavior When using a .plain style UITableView, the standard top separator should appear above the first cell of each section, as part of the default system rendering. We’ve recently updated our app to adopt the native iOS 26 tab bar. Since then, we’ve started seeing crashes on iOS 26 devices with swift_getObjectType appearing in the stack. I’ve reviewed the logs in Organizer but couldn’t find anything conclusive. CarPlay on iOS 14 and iOS 15
My app developed with the new Xcode 26 doesn't appear on CarPlay when running on iOS 14–15 devices. My developer has obtained the com.apple.developer.carplay-driving-task permission, but iOS 16+ devices allow my app to display on CarPlay. Can anyone help resolve this issue? Is it because the carplay-driving-task permission is only available for iOS 16+ devices? If I want compatibility with iOS 14–15 devices, do I need to apply to Apple for the carplay-audio permission to use it? Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Thanks!

Setting alternate app icon fails with "Ressource temporarily not available"

However now the completion handler consistently returns this error if feeding with either an existing app icon name or a fictional one. The new navigationLinkIndicatorVisibility modifier crashes on < iOS 26
This new modifier is supposedly backported to iOS 17, but on attempting to use it on the latest iOS 18.5, this happens: Symbol not found: _$s7SwiftUI17EnvironmentValuesV33_navigationIndicatorVisibilityABIAA0G0OvpMV This happens with any usage of the modifier. An availability check won't save you either. The cruelest part of this is that I only need the modifier on iOS 26, lmao. Am I just missing something?

Liquid Glass / iOS 26 Tab bar positions incorrectly on iPad; repositions correctly when re-opening app
I have a TabView (no modifiers) as the top-level view in my app. Starting with iOS 26 it starts off partially "under" the Status Bar, and then repositions if I switch between apps. Starting Point After Switching To/From Another App In the simulator, pressing "Home" and then reopening the app will fix it. Anyone else seeing something similar? Is there a modifier I'm missing on TabView that might prevent this behaviour? Thanks!

Incorrect system color on popover view, and does not update while switching dark mode on iOS 26 beta 3
All system colors are displayed incorrectly on the popover view. Those are the same views present as a popover in light and dark mode. And those are the same views present as modal. And there is also a problem that when the popover is presented, switching to dark/light mode will not change the appearance. That affected all system apps. The following screenshot is already in dark mode. All those problem are occured on iOS 26 beta 3.

Yet I can't understand how to display this data in a view. App Clip Card’s “Open” Button takes 2–3 seconds to become active on first load
We are currently implementing App Clips in our app. While we have carefully optimized the App Clip size to keep it lightweight (~3.69MB), we have noticed that on the first load, displaying the App Clip Card and activating the “Open” button takes a surprisingly long time (approximately 2–3 seconds). Subsequent loads appear to perform normally. We understand that this behavior may not be directly controllable from the app development side, but we would like to know if there are any possible ways to improve it. Minimizing the time it takes for users to access the content is extremely important, as delays on the first interaction can negatively impact the user experience. Any guidance or best practices to make the App Clip Card and its “Open” button respond faster on first load would be greatly appreciated.

Image sizing in context menus on Tahoe via Catalyst
I've got a Catalyst app that exposes some custom context menu items via the buildMenu API. When it runs on Tahoe, there's some weirdness with how the images in the menu items are sized. See attached screenshot below. The three items on the bottom are using SF Symbols for their images, and the rest are using custom images from an asset catalog. Is this a bug in Tahoe 26.0? Or should I be resizing my images before giving them to UIAction? If the latter, what should the size be, and is this documented somewhere or available from an API?

SwiftUI Chart scrolling on macOS
I'm running macOS 26.3 and using Xcode 26.4. I'm trying to create a SwiftUI Chart that can scroll horizontally. In the SwiftUI Preview, and also running the app on macOS, the chart displays a scrollbar, but the scrollbar does not respond to mouse interaction (dragging the scrollbar, or clicking in the gutters on either side of the scrollbar). Invalid parameter not satisfying: parentEnvironment != nil
Since the beta releases of iPadOS 26 we have been having some crashes about Invalid parameter not satisfying: parentEnvironment != nil We got to contact a couple of users and we found out that the crash appears when entering a screen in a UINavigationController with the iPad device connected to a Magic Keyboard. Back gesture not disabled with navigationBarBackButtonHidden(true) when using .zoom transition
[Submitted as FB22226720] For a NavigationStack destination, applying .navigationBarBackButtonHidden(true) hides the back button and also disables the interactive left-edge back gesture when using the standard push navigation transition. However, when the destination uses .navigationTransition(.zoom), the back button is hidden but the left-edge back gesture is still available—it can still be dismissed even though back is intentionally suppressed. This creates inconsistent behavior between navigation transition styles. navigationBarBackButtonHidden(_:) works with a standard push transition, but not with .navigationTransition(.zoom). In the code below, .interactiveDismissDisabled(true) is also applied as another attempt to suppress the back-swipe gesture, but it has no effect. As a result, there’s currently no clean way to prevent back navigation when using the zoom transition. REPRO STEPS Create an iOS project then replace ContentView with code below, build and run. Leave nav type set to List Push. Open an item. Verify there is no back button, then try the left-edge back gesture. Return to the root view. Change nav type to Grid Zoom. Open an item. Verify there is no back button, then try the left-edge back gesture. ACTUAL In List Push mode, the left-edge back gesture is prevented. In Grid Zoom mode, the back button is hidden, but the left-edge back gesture still works and returns to the previous view. EXPECTED Behavior should be consistent across navigation transition styles. If this configuration is meant to suppress interactive backward navigation for a destination, it should also suppress the left-edge back gesture when using .navigationTransition(.zoom).
