Sticky Horizontal AnchorEntity
Hi, I'm trying to use AnchorEntity for horizontal surfaces. It works when the entity is being created, but I'm looking for a way to snap this entity to the nearest surface, after translating it, for example with a DragGesture. What would be the best way to achieve this? Using raycast, creating a new anchor, trackingMode to continuous etc. Do I need to use ARKitSession as I want continuous tracking?

Any recommended content-aware compression strategy for .ktx textures in Reality Composer Pro?
In my Reality Composer Pro workflow for Vision Pro development, I’m using xcrun realitytool image to pre-compress textures into .ktx format, typically using ASTC block compression. These textures are used for cubemaps and environment assets. I’ve noticed that regardless of the image content—whether it’s a highly detailed photo or a completely black image—once compressed with the same ASTC block size (e.g., ASTC_8x8), the resulting .ktx file size is nearly identical. There appears to be no content-aware logic that adapts the compression ratio to the actual texture complexity. In contrast, Unreal Engine behaves differently: even when all cubemap faces are imported at the same resolution as DDS textures, the engine performs content-aware compression during packaging: Low-complexity images are compressed more aggressively The final packaged file size varies based on content complexity Since Reality Composer Pro requires textures to be pre-compressed as .ktx, there’s no opportunity for runtime optimization or per-image compression adjustment. Just wondering: is there any recommended way to implement content-aware compression for .ktx textures in Reality Composer Pro? Or any best practices to optimize .ktx sizes based on image complexity? Thanks!

Setting immerstionStyle while in immersive space breaks all entities.
I have my immersive space set up like: ImmersiveSpace(id: "Theater") { ImmersiveTeleopView() .environment(appModel) .onAppear() { appModel.immersiveSpaceState = .open } .onDisappear { appModel.immersiveSpaceState = .closed } } .immersionStyle(selection: .constant(appModel.immersionStyle.style), in: .mixed, .full) Which allows me to set the immersive style while in the space (from a Picker on a SwiftUI window). The scene responds correctly but a lot of the functionality of my immersive space is gone after the change in style; in that I am no longer able to enable/disable entities (which I also have a toggles for in the SwiftUI window). I have to exit and reenter the immersive space to regain the ability to change the enabled state of my entities. My appModel.immersionStyle is inspired by the Compositor-Services demo (although I am using a RealityView) listed in https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/CompositorServices/interacting-with-virtual-content-blended-with-passthrough and looks like this: public enum IStyle: String, CaseIterable, Identifiable { case mixedStyle, fullStyle public var id: Self { self } var style: ImmersionStyle { switch self { case .mixedStyle: return .mixed case .fullStyle: return .full } } } /// Maintains app-wide state @MainActor @Observable class AppModel { // Immersion Style public var immersionStyle: IStyle = .mixedStyle

ARKit Face Tracking works in total darkness?
I’ve seen, mainly in discussions with AIs, that ARFaceTrackingConfiguration uses the same technology as Face ID and therefore should work in complete darkness. However, I haven’t been able to achieve this. Does anyone know if this is actually true? I'm using an iPhone 16 to test, and the Face ID works well in darkness.

visionOS widget dimensions?
Is there any size guidance for the new WidgetKit integration on visionOS? The Widget HIG provides dimensions for all the widget size classes on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, but has not been updated for visionOS. https://aninterestingwebsite.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/widgets My potential widget use case is image based, so I'm looking to better understand the optimal size, resolution etc I would need, particularly for the new visionOS specific extra large widget size.

[WWDC25] For GuessTogether, can you initiate a FaceTime call via the custom SharePlay button?
Hello, For GuessTogether source code, it seems like the code assumes that you're already in a FaceTime call before pressing the custom SharePlay button (labeled "Play Guess Together"). If not already on a FaceTime call, my Apple Vision Pro and the visionOS simulator both do nothing after throwing warnings. Is this intended behavior? If so, how do I make it so that pressing the button can also initiate FaceTime calls? Is this allowed? Thank you!

RealityKit System update and timing
Hi, I'm playing now with hand tracking. I want to get position of hand inside a system update function. I was not sure if transform I'm getting from hand attached AnchorEntity (with trackingMode: .predicted) would give same results as handAnchors(at:) from hand tracking provider, so I started to read them both and compare. For handAnchors i tried using context.scene.timebase.sourceTimebase!.sourceClock!.time.seconds and CACurrentMediaTime() as timestamp source. They seem to use exactly same clock, so that doesn't matter, but: for some reason update handler is always called twice with same context.deltaTime, but first time the query finds 0 entities, second time it finds them all. The query is the standard EntityQuery(where: .has(MyComponent.self)) and in update (matching: Self.query, updatingSystemWhen: .rendering). Here's part of logs: System update called, entity count: 0, dt: 0.01000458374619484, absTime: 4654.222593541 System update called, entity count: 11, dt: 0.01000458374619484, absTime: 4654.22262525 System update called, entity count: 0, dt: 0.009999999776482582, absTime: 4654.249390875 System update called, entity count: 11, dt: 0.009999999776482582, absTime: 4654.249425 accounting for the double update calling I started to calculate time delta of absolute time between calls and they're most of the time much bigger, or much smaller than advertised by system's context.deltaTime, only sometimes they kind of match, for example: system: (dt: 0.01000458374619484) scene : (dt: 0.021419291667371) (absTime: 4654.222628125001) and the very next call system: (dt: 0.010009 166784584522) scene : (dt: 0.0013097083328830195) (absTime: 4654.223937833334) but sometimes system: (dt: 0.009999999776482582) scene : (dt: 0.009 112249999816413) (absTime: 4654.351299 166668) Shouldn't those be more or less equal, or am I missing something? In the end it seems that getting hand position from AnchorEntity and with handAnchors(at:) gives kind of same results, but at different time points, so I'd love to understand what's the correct way to use them and why time flows differently :). --Edit-- P.S. Had to put spaces everywhere in logs between "9" and "1", otherwise post was blocked due to "sensitive content" :D

Spatial Computing, ARPointCloud (rawFeaturePoints)
https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/arkit/arpointcloud https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/arkit/arframe/rawfeaturepoints The point cloud (collection of points/features) main intention is a debug visualization to what the underlying tracking algorithm processes and is not designed for additional algorithms on top of that. But, we are utilizing information contained in the points/features collected by ARKit. Currently, the range of rawfeaturepoints is limited to about 10 meter from the device. We see a great chance if the range is unlock. The global localization will be more robust and accurate. ARPointCloud - Apple ARKit - FindSurface YouTube SIdQRiLj2jY

The participantIdentifier of Shared Coordinate Space invalid in Visionos26 Enterprise api
Visionos26 Enterprise api has the new feature: Shared Coordinate Space, participants exchange their coordinate data by SharedCoordinateSpaceProvider through their own network, when shared coordinate space established with nearby participants, the event: connectedParticipantIdentifiers(participants: [UUID]) will be received. But the Event.participantIdentifier still be an invalid default value(00000000-0000-0000-FFFF-FFFFFFFF) in this time, I wonder when or how I can get a valid event.participantIdentifier, or is there some other way to get the local participantIdentifier? Or If it's a bug, please fix it in later beta release version, thank you.

Build failed with error in Reality Kit Content
I have an arguably massive project and am not sure if the issue is with the assets or my approach in the code. the error says : Tool terminated due to error "SIGNAL 6:Abort trap:6" Basically I have around 15-20 assets (usda files built out of usdz files). In the code i am loading a scene with all the usda files and then have the functions to enable and disable a particular asset when needed. This was working as intended when i am using dummy assets(with less polygons, lesser textures) But when i placed the actual assets the error appears and persists. Do I have a bad approach of loading all the scenes at once? Previously i have used an approach which loads the scenes when needed and that involved some lag before rendering the assets. But my current approach(when using dummies) works like a dime rendering and hiding the assets in realtime with no lag. Kindly suggest any workarounds.

Possible to detect multiple images at the same time on VisionPro?
I'm working on a project that uses imageTrackingProvider through ARKit on VisionPro, and I want to detect multiple images(about 5) and show info at the same time. However, I found that it seems only 1 image could be detected by device at one time. And the api of maximumNumberOfTrackedImages doing this seems not available for visionOS but only iOS. Anyone knows possible ways to detect multiple images at the same time on VisionPro?

For a third year, no screenshot capability for immersive visionOS apps... here's a workaround?
Since only the user can take a screenshot using the Apple Vision Pro's top buttons, the only workaround available to an immersive app that needs a screenshot to document the user's creative interior design choices is ask the user to take a screenshot wait until the user taps a button indicating the screenshot has been taken then the app asks the user to select the screenshot when the app opens the PhotoPicker when the user presses Done, the screenshot is handed off to the app. One wonders why there is no Apple Api for doing this in a simple privacy protective way such as: When called, the Apple api captures the screenshot in Apple secured memory The api displays the screenshot to the user with appropriate privacy warnings and asks if the user wants to a. share this screenshot with the app, or b. cancel, c. retake the screenshot If the user approves, the app receives the screenshot
