[visionOS] How to render side-by-side stereo video?
I want to render a 3d/stereoscopic video in an Apple Vision Pro window using RealityKit/RealityView. The video is a left-right stereo. The straight forward approach would be to spawn a quad, and give it a custom Shader Graph material, which has a CameraIndexSwitch. The CameraIndexSwitch chooses between the right texture vs the left texture. https://i.sstatic.net/XawqjNcg.png The issue I have here is that I have to extract the video frames from my AVSampleBufferVideoRenderer. This should work ok, but not if I'm playing FairPlay content. So, my question is, how to render stereo FairPlay videos in a SwiftUI RealityView?

Digital Crown press when both immersive space and additional windows are presented
I have been experimenting with the Hello World sample app from https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/visionos/world and I came across behavior that appears inconsistent with user-facing documentation describing the device controls at https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/apple-vision-pro/tan1e2a29e00/visionos I tried pressing simulator's "Home" button while "Objects in Orbit" immersive space was presented alongside with the main application window. According to user documentation, pressing Digital Crown should take the user directly to Home View. In my test a single press only dismissed the immersive space, I needed another press to "exit" the app and go to Home View. Is this behavior expected? I am assuming that "Home" button in the simulator behaves as if the user pressed Digital Crown on the device, I don't have access to the actual hardware.

How to integrate Apple Immersive Video into the app you are developing.
Hello, Let me ask you a question about Apple Immersive Video. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2024/07/new-apple-immersive-video-series-and-films-premiere-on-vision-pro/ I am currently considering implementing a feature to play Apple Immersive Video as a background scene in the app I developed, using 3DCG-created content converted into Apple Immersive Video format. First, I would like to know if it is possible to integrate Apple Immersive Video into an app. Could you provide information about the required software and the integration process for incorporating Apple Immersive Video into an app? It would be great if you could also share any helpful website resources. I am considering creating Apple Immersive Video content and would like to know about the necessary equipment and software for producing both live-action footage and 3DCG animation videos. As I mentioned earlier, I’m planning to play Apple Immersive Video as a background in the app. In doing so, I would also like to place some 3D models as RealityKit entities and spatial audio elements. I’m also planning to develop the visionOS app as a Full Space Mixed experience. Is it possible to have an immersive viewing experience with Apple Immersive Video in Full Space Mixed mode? Does Apple Immersive Video support Full Space Mixed? I’ve asked several questions, and that’s all for now. Thank you in advance!

Reoccurring World Tracking / Scene Exceeded Limit Error
Hi, We’ve been successfully using the RoomPlan API in our application for over two years. Recently, however, users have reported encountering persistent capture errors during their sessions. Specifically, the errors observed are: CaptureError.worldTrackingFailure CaptureError.exceedSceneSizeLimit What we have observed: Persistent Errors: The errors continue to occur even after initiating new capture sessions. Normal Usage: Our implementation adheres to typical usage patterns of the RoomPlan API without exceeding any documented room size limits. Limited Feature Usage: We are not utilizing the WorldTracking feature for the StructureBuilder functionality to stitch rooms together. Potential State Caching: Given that these errors persist across sessions, we suspect that there might be memory or state cached between sessions that is not being cleared, particularly since we are not taking advantage of StructureBuilder. Request: Could you please advise if there is any internal caching or memory retention between capture sessions that might lead to these errors? Additionally, we would appreciate guidance on how to clear or manage this state when the StructureBuilder feature is not in use. Here is a generalised version of our capture session initialization code to help diagnose the issue. struct RoomARCaptureView: UIViewRepresentable { typealias Handler = (CapturedRoom, Error?) -> Void @Binding var stop: Bool @Binding var done: Bool let completion: Handler? func makeUIView(context: Self.Context) -> RoomCaptureView { let view = RoomCaptureView(frame: .zero) view.delegate = context.coordinator view.captureSession.run(configuration: .init()) return view } func updateUIView(_ uiView: RoomCaptureView, context: Self.Context) { if stop { // Stop the session only once, multiple times causes issues with the final presentation uiView.captureSession.stop() stop = false done = true } } static func dismantleUIView(_ uiView: RoomCaptureView, coordinator: Self.Coordinator) { uiView.captureSession.stop() } func makeCoordinator() -> ARViewCoordinator { ARViewCoordinator(completion) } @objc(ARViewCoordinator) class ARViewCoordinator: NSObject, RoomCaptureViewDelegate { var completion: Handler? public required init?(coder: NSCoder) {} public func encode(with coder: NSCoder) {} public init(_ completion: Handler?) { super.init() self.completion = completion } public func captureView(shouldPresent roomDataForProcessing: CapturedRoomData, error: (Error)?) -> Bool { return true } public func captureView(didPresent processedResult: CapturedRoom, error: (Error)?) { completion?(processedResult, error) } } } Thank you for your assistance.

App Window Closure Sequence Impacts Main Interface Reload Behavior
My VisionOS App (Travel Immersive) has two interface windows: a main 2D interface window and a 3D Earth window. If the user first closes the main interface window and then the Earth window, clicking the app icon again will only launch the Earth window while failing to display the main interface window. However, if the user closes the Earth window first and then the main interface window, the app restarts normally‌. Below is the code of import SwiftUI @main struct Travel_ImmersiveApp: App { @StateObject private var appModel = AppModel() var body: some Scene { WindowGroup(id: "MainWindow") { ContentView() .environmentObject(appModel) .onDisappear { appModel.closeEarthWindow = true } } .windowStyle(.automatic) .defaultSize(width: 1280, height: 825) WindowGroup(id: "Earth") { if !appModel.closeEarthWindow { Globe3DView() .environmentObject(appModel) .onDisappear { appModel.isGlobeWindowOpen = false } } else { EmptyView() // 关闭时渲染空视图 } } .windowStyle(.volumetric) .defaultSize(width: 0.8, height: 0.8, depth: 0.8, in: .meters) ImmersiveSpace(id: "ImmersiveView") { ImmersiveView() .environmentObject(appModel) } } }

RC Pro Timeline Notification Not Received in Xcode
I'm having a heck of a time getting this to work. I'm trying to add an event notification at the end of a timeline animation to trigger something in code but I'm not receiving the notification from RC Pro. I've watched that Compose Interactive 3D Content video quite a few times now and have tried many different ways. RC Pro has the correct ID names on the notifications. I'm not a programmer at all. Just a lowly 3D artist. Here is my code... import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent extension Notification.Name { static let button1Pressed = Notification.Name("button1pressed") static let button2Pressed = Notification.Name("button2pressed") static let button3Pressed = Notification.Name("button3pressed") } struct MainButtons: View { @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton1 = false @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton2 = false @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton3 = false @Environment(AppModel.self) var appModel @Environment(\.dismissWindow) var dismissWindow // Notification publishers for each button private let button1PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button1Pressed) private let button2PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button2Pressed) private let button3PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button3Pressed) var body: some View { ZStack { RealityView { content in // Load your RC Pro scene that contains the 3D buttons. if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "MainButtons", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) } } // Optionally attach a gesture if you want to debug a generic tap: .gesture( TapGesture().targetedToAnyEntity().onEnded { value in print("3D Object tapped") _ = value.entity.applyTapForBehaviors() // Do not post a test notification here—rely on RC Pro timeline events. } ) } .onAppear { dismissWindow(id: "main") // Remove any test notification posting code. } // Listen for distinct button notifications. .onReceive(button1PressedReceived) { (output) in print("Button 1 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton1 = true } .onReceive(button2PressedReceived.receive(on: DispatchQueue.main)) { _ in print("Button 2 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton2 = true } .onReceive(button3PressedReceived.receive(on: DispatchQueue.main)) { _ in print("Button 3 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton3 = true } // Present next scenes for each button as needed. For example, for button 1: .fullScreenCover(isPresented: $transitionToNextSceneForButton1) { FacilityTour() .environment(appModel) } // You can add additional fullScreenCover modifiers for button 2 and 3 transitions. } }

Using vision pro to detect distance to real life objects
Is it possible to detect distance from the vision pro to real live objects and people? I tried using scene.raycast to perform a raycast forward from the center of the viewport, but it doesn't seem to react to real life objects, only entities. I see mentioned here: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/776807?answerId=829576022#829576022, that a raycast with scene reconstruction should allow me to measure that distance, as long as the object is non-moving. How could I accomplish that?

Unity on VisionOS development - best practice on structuring a project
Hello, I am experimenting with Unity to develop a mixed reality (MR) application for visionOS. I would like to understand the best approach for structuring my project: Should I build the entire experience in Unity (both Windows and Volumes)? Or is it better to create only certain elements (e.g., Volumes) in Unity while managing Windows separately in Xcode? Also, how well do interactions (e.g pinch, grab…) created in Unity integrate with Xcode? Please let me know if you have any recommendations, Thanks!

Unable to Create a Fully Immersive Experience That Hides Other Windows in visionOS App
Description: I'm developing a travel/panorama viewing app for visionOS that allows users to view 360° panoramic images in an immersive space. When users enter panorama viewing mode, I want to provide a fully immersive experience where the main interface window and Earth 3D globe window are hidden. I've implemented the app following Apple's documentation on Creating Fully Immersive Experiences, but when users enter the immersive space, both the main window and the Earth 3D window remain visible, diminishing the immersive experience. Implementation Details: My app has three main components: A main content window showing panorama thumbnails A 3D globe window (volumetric) showing locations An immersive space for viewing 360° panoramas I'm using .immersionStyle(selection: $panoImageView, in: .full) to create a fully immersive experience, but other windows remain visible. Relevant Code: @main struct Travel_ImmersiveApp: App { @StateObject private var appModel = AppModel() @State private var panoImageView: ImmersionStyle = .full var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { ContentView() .environmentObject(appModel) } .windowStyle(.automatic) .defaultSize(width: 1280, height: 825) WindowGroup(id: "Earth") { Globe3DView() .environmentObject(appModel) .onAppear { appModel.isGlobeWindowOpen = true appModel.globeWindowOpen = true } .onDisappear { if !appModel.shouldCloseApp { appModel.handleGlobeWindowClose() } } } .windowStyle(.volumetric) .defaultSize(width: 0.8, height: 0.8, depth: 0.8, in: .meters) .windowResizability(.contentSize) ImmersiveSpace(id: "ImmersiveView") { ImmersiveView() .environmentObject(appModel) } .immersionStyle(selection: $panoImageView, in: .full) } } Opening the Immersive Space: func getPanoImageAndOpenImmersiveSpace() async { appModel.clearMemoryCache() do { let canView = appModel.canViewImage(image) if canView { let downloadedImage = try await appModel.getPanoramaImage(for: image) { progress in Task { @MainActor in cardState = .loading(progress: progress) } } await MainActor.run { appModel.updateCurrentImage(image, panoramaImage: downloadedImage) } if !appModel.immersiveSpaceOpened { try await openImmersiveSpace(id: "ImmersiveView") await MainActor.run { appModel.immersiveSpaceOpened = true cardState = .normal } } else { await MainActor.run { appModel.updateImmersiveView = true cardState = .normal } } } else { await MainActor.run { appModel.errorMessage = "You do not have permission to view this image." cardState = .normal } } } catch { // Error handling } } Immersive View Implementation: struct ImmersiveView: View { @EnvironmentObject var appModel: AppModel var body: some View { RealityView { content in let rootEntity = Entity() content.add(rootEntity) Task { if let selectedImage = appModel.selectedImage, appModel.canViewImage(selectedImage) { await loadPanorama(for: rootEntity) } } } update: { content in if appModel.updateImmersiveView, let selectedImage = appModel.selectedImage, appModel.canViewImage(selectedImage), let rootEntity = content.entities.first { Task { await loadPanorama(for: rootEntity) appModel.updateImmersiveView = false } } } .onAppear { print("ImmersiveView appeared") } .onDisappear { appModel.resetImmersiveState() } } // loadPanorama implementation... } What I've Tried Set immersionStyle to .full as recommended in the documentation Confirmed that the immersive space is properly opened and displaying panoramas Verified that the state management for the immersive space is working correctly Questions How can I ensure that when the user enters the immersive panorama viewing experience, all other windows (main interface and Earth 3D globe) are automatically hidden? Is there a specific API or approach I'm missing to properly implement a fully immersive experience that hides all other windows? Do I need to manually dismiss the windows when opening the immersive space, and if so, what's the best approach for doing this? Any guidance or sample code would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Pass Video/ Frames to a Shader Graph?
Wondering if this is even possible without using CVImageBuffer and passing each frame as an image which I imagine will be very expensive. Have a PoC of a shader graph that applies a radial zoom effect to an image. In RealityKit I'm passing the image as a resource: if let textureResource = try? await TextureResource(named: "fuji") { let value = MaterialParameters.Value.textureResource(textureResource) try? material.setParameter(name: "MyImage", value: value) model.model?.materials = [material] } Thanks in advance

How to create a MultiplayerDelegate and use TabletopNetworkSession features?
When building a multiplayer Tabletop game, the documentation includes how to attach a custom TabletopNetworkSessionCoordinator, which could be used in addition to TabletopGame.MultiplayerDelegate. But so far, we have been unable to create these types of custom coordinators or have a delegate that works. Our current setup with our generic GroupActivity works by sending the session to TabletopGame's coordinateWithSession method (like in the current sample project), but we didn't find a way to access and control, for example, the arbiter, seats, player events, among other features mentioned on https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/tabletopkit/tabletopnetworksession. Is correct to expect having access to the participants, messenger, or journal without having to maintain a parallel coordinator?   possibly we are missing something here; any suggestions?

how to achieve "concave in" glass view look?
I have been trying to implement this look where a component looks "pushed in" but I could not find any resources regarding this effect. The closest I got was a combination of a RoundedRectangle and .glassBackgroundEffect(), but this makes the view look pushed out, instead of pushed in. I was wondering if this is achievable in SwiftUI level, or even in UIKit level.

Spaceship sample code does not compile
I'm getting the following error message when compiling the Apple provided sample, Spaceship game for the Apple Visio Pro. I've already tried deleting the derived data resetting the package cache and restarting Xcode but still getting the following error: [xrsimulator] Exception thrown during compile: Cannot get rkassets content for path /Users/myoungkang/Downloads/CreatingASpaceshipGame/Packages/Studio/Sources/Studio/Studio.rkassets because 'The file “Studio.rkassets” couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it.' error: Tool exited with code 1

how to achieve "concave in" glass view look?
I have been trying to implement this look where a component looks "pushed in" but I could not find any resources regarding this effect. The closest I got was a combination of a RoundedRectangle and .glassBackgroundEffect(), but this makes the view look pushed out, instead of pushed in. I was wondering if this is achievable in SwiftUI level, or even in UIKit level.
