Questions about Deployment Targets in Xcode
The “Deployment Targets” for iOS was IOS12 or higher in Xcode15, but is now listed as IOS15 or higher in Xcode16. https://aninterestingwebsite.com/support/xcode/ How does this change affect developers and users? For example, if a developer specifies less than iOS15 in the “iOS Deployment Target” on Xcode, how will this affect them? Also, will users under iOS 15 be unable to run the apps?

Unable to Install Provisioning profile
Hi, I'm unable to install provisioning profile on my iPad and I know the xcode component iOS/iPadOs version and iPadOS version should be same or below the latest compared to xcode components. Now the issue is xcode component version is iOS 18.4 (22E235) SDK + iOS 18.4 (22E238) Simulator (Installed) and iPadOS version is iOS 18.4.1(22E252) could this be cause of issue ? If yes then when will apple release components for 18.4.1? Because iOS 18.4.1 release at least 3-4 weeks before this post.

Network Instability in TestFlight Builds When Using Xcode 16+
We are experiencing networking issues in our iOS application when it is built with Xcode 16 or later. Our app includes a video conferencing feature that works reliably when built with Xcode 15 or earlier — we can sustain hour-long video sessions without interruption. However, when the app is built using Xcode 16 or higher, network connections drop after 2–3 minutes during a session. This triggers an auto-reconnect, which succeeds, but the connection drops again after another 2–3 minutes. This loop continues indefinitely. Key Details: The issue only occurs in TestFlight builds. When running the app via Xcode debugger, the issue does not occur. The issue is consistently reproducible in TestFlight builds created with Xcode 16 or later. TestFlight builds created with Xcode 15 do not exhibit this issue. All the videoconferencing runs on C and C++ code What We’ve Tried: Reviewed Xcode 16+ release notes but found no relevant changes or deprecations. Verified app configuration and entitlements. Confirmed that no app-side changes occurred between the working and broken builds. Request: We’re seeking guidance on what changes in Xcode 16+ could be affecting networking behavior in release/TestFlight builds. Any insight into relevant build settings, compiler changes, or runtime behavior differences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Public radar reports
Hello Apple community ! Not here to report an issue but I just wanted to make a suggestion ^^ I feel like a common frustration amongst developers is the lack of transparency over bugs filed on developer tools, SDKs, iOS versions, the whole Apple ecosystem really. This leads to the creation of parallel bug tracking tools (https://github.com/feedback-assistant/reports?tab=readme-ov-file / https://openradar.appspot.com/page/1) or filing of duplicates for reports that may already exist and are being worked on. I feel like this would save time for both external developers that encounter bugs & Apple engineers that have to look for possible duplicates to share a common public database of issues. Other companies have this kind of system in place (Google for example : https://issuetracker.google.com/) so why not Apple ? Thank you

Cannot Find UI to Add Core Data Database Indexes in Xcode 16.2
Hi everyone, I'm trying to add standard, non-unique database indexes to my Core Data entities for performance optimization (e.g., indexing Date or String attributes used in predicates and sort descriptors). I'm using Xcode 16.2 on macOS Sequoia 15.1. My problem is that I cannot find the expected UI element in the Core Data model editor (.xcdatamodeld) to configure these database indexes. What I Understand / Expect: I know the old "Indexed" checkbox on the Attribute Inspector is deprecated/gone. My understanding from recent documentation and tutorials is that database indexing (separate from Spotlight indexing) should be configured in the Entity Inspector (when the Entity itself is selected), within a section titled "Indexes" (usually located below "Constraints"). This "Indexes" section should allow adding individual or compound indexes that translate to SQL CREATE INDEX commands, distinct from uniqueness constraints. What I'm Experiencing: When I select an Entity in the model editor, the "Indexes" section is completely missing from the Data Model Inspector pane on the right. I see sections for Name, Class, Constraints, Spotlight, User Info, Versioning, etc., but no "Indexes" section appears between Constraints and Spotlight (or anywhere else). Troubleshooting Steps Taken: Verified Selection: I have confirmed I am selecting the Entity itself in the left-hand list, not an individual Attribute. Ruled out Spotlight Indexing: I understand the difference between database indexing (for internal query performance) and the "Index in Spotlight" checkbox/Core Spotlight framework (for system search). I specifically need the former. Basic Xcode Troubleshooting: I have tried restarting Xcode, cleaning the build folder (Shift+Command+K), and deleting the project's Derived Data. The "Indexes" section remains missing. Checked File Placement/Target Membership: Confirmed the .xcdatamodeld file is correctly included in the target. Its location in the project navigator doesn't seem relevant. Checked Model Versioning: Ensured the correct model version is set as "Current" in the File Inspector. Ruled out Other Features: Confirmed that Fetch Requests, Fetched Properties, and User Info keys are not the mechanisms for defining database indexes. Confirmed Not Project-Specific: I created a brand new, template-generated iOS App project with "Use Core Data" checked. In this new project, when selecting the default "Item" entity, the "Indexes" section is also missing from the Entity Inspector. This strongly suggests the issue is with my Xcode environment/version itself, not my specific project's setup. Considered Programmatic/Manual: I understand Core Data expects schema definitions (including indexes) declaratively in the model file. While manual XML editing of the contents file works (adding ... within the tag), this is not the desired or intended workflow via the standard tools. My Questions: What is the correct, current procedure for defining non-unique Core Data database indexes using the Xcode UI in Xcode 16.2? Has the location or method for configuring database indexes changed in this version of Xcode? If so, where is it now? Is the absence of the "Indexes" section in the Entity Inspector a known issue or intentional change for this Xcode version? If the standard UI method is unavailable, what is the officially recommended approach (other than manual XML editing)? I've reviewed the documentation ("Configuring Entities", "Configuring Attributes") and while screenshots show the inspectors, they don't definitively show the "Indexes" section within the Entity Inspector, sometimes focusing on attributes or potentially being cropped. Any clarification or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

launchd_sim and AppleSpell deadlock
I've got a 2019 Intel iMac running Sequoia 15.4.1 and Xcode 16.3. Every time I try to view a storyboard Xcode locks up and beachballs on me. It takes minutes to load the file. When I force-quit Xcode, the report that shows up has this as the reason: Processes reached dispatch thread soft limit (64): launchd_sim [96305] [unique pid 194673], launchd_sim [96260] [unique pid 194628] Deadlock: AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df0c4 DispatchQueue 313 -> AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df0c4 DispatchQueue 313 Deadlock: AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df114 DispatchQueue 86 -> AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df114 DispatchQueue 86 Blocked by Deadlock: 1 task - AppleSpell [1494] I'm wondering, why is AppleSpell trying to spell-check a plist file? Is there any way to tell AppleSpell to ignore a file?

Xcode 26 - Create ML don't work
I tried using Create ML of Xcode 26.0 beta 7 to generate a model using the "Word Tagging" template, and I received the error: Training progress unavailable - Unexpected error. Using Create ML of XCode 16.4 with the same documentation, I was able to build the model and use it in a test app. I'd like to understand why Create ML of Xcode 26 no longer works.

SwiftMacros Not able to access of main project XCTest File.
I have developed a Swift macro called @CodableInit in the SwiftCodableMacro module, and I’m able to use it successfully in my main project. Here’s an example usage: import SwiftCodableMacro @CodableInit // This is for Codable macros public class ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin { public var identifier: UUID = UUID() // MARK: - Codable required public init(from decoder:Decoder) throws { let values = try decoder.container(keyedBy: CodingKeys.self) identifier = try values.decode(UUID.self, forKey: .identifier) } } However, when I try to write a unit test for the ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin class, I encounter an issue. Here's the test case: func testCodableSubjectIdentifierShouldEqualDecodedSubjectIdentifier() { self.measure { let encoder = JSONEncoder() let data = try? encoder.encode(subject) //Here I am getting this error Class 'JSONEncoder' requires that 'ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin' conform to 'Encodable' let decoder = JSONDecoder() let decodedSubject = try? decoder.decode(ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin.self, from: data!) XCTAssertEqual(subject.identifier, decodedSubject?.identifier) } } The compiler throws an error saying: Class 'JSONEncoder' requires that 'ErrorMonitoringWebPlugin' conform to 'Encodable' Even though the @CodableInit macro is supposed to generate conformance, it seems that this macro-generated code is not visible or active inside the test target. How can I ensure that the @CodableInit macro (from SwiftCodableMacro) is correctly applied and recognized within the XCTest target of my main project?

Why Must All Attributes in a Composite Type Be Optional?
I recently encountered an issue involving Core Data’s new Composite Attributes feature and thought I would share my experience, as well as seek clarification. I created a composite type where all attributes were mandatory, except for one. Subsequently, I added an attribute to an entity and set its type to that composite type. Upon running the app, the console output the following error: CoreData: error: CoreData: error: Row (pk = 85) for entity ‘(EntityName)’ is missing mandatory text data for property ‘(propertyName)’ The way I resolved this was by removing the composite type attribute from the entity, after which the error no longer appeared. I also observed that in another entity, where a different composite type is used, all the attributes were optional — and no error occurred. This raises the question: why must all attributes in a composite type be optional? Furthermore, why does Xcode not inform the developer of this requirement? I have reviewed both the documentation and the WWDC23 “What’s New in Core Data” session, but neither mentions that having non-optional attributes within a composite type will cause such errors and lead to unpredictable application behaviour. Additionally, this issue remains unresolved in another area I raised previously in this topic: Composite Attributes feature requires tvOS deployment target 17.0 or later Composite Attributes feature requires watchOS deployment target 10.0 or later However, I do not have a tvOS or watchOS target, nor do I intend to add one. Could someone from Apple, or anyone with more experience, please clarify why all attributes within a composite type must be optional? And could it be possible for Xcode to flag this at compile time, rather than failing at runtime? Thank you in advance.

Xcode 16.3 C++ compiler makes binaries with corrupted memory.
I am creating an xcframework for a static library for iOS, but I am encountering a perplexing issue with Xcode 16.3. When I build an xcframework using C++ in one project and import it into another project, the application runs with corrupted memory. In the framework project, I use os_unfair_lock, but when attempting to lock, the app crashes due to a state error. This suggests that memory corruption is occurring. When the xcframework is built with Xcode 16.2, a proper binary is generated, and the app runs without any problems. Since I do not want to disclose the source code, I am trying to construct a minimal project that reproduces the issue, but so far I have not been successful. Fundamentally, I feel that the compiler in Xcode 16.3 cannot be trusted.

Followed docs for "Local Package", how to add to 2nd project?
I have a couple apps in one git repository. I'd like to have a Swift package in that repo as well, shared by apps. In other words, I don't want a separate repo for the Swift package. I followed the instructions here: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/xcode/organizing-your-code-with-local-packages It seems to work. I can write code like this in my app: import MyLocalPackage func foo() { myLocalPackageFunc() } I notice that the package is not listed under Project > MyApp > Package Dependencies. I don't really care, as long as I can reuse code between apps. But when I try to add this package code to a 2nd app, I'm at a loss. I tried "Add Package Dependencies" and "Add Local", but that creates a different looking setup than the 1st app. The code is browsable in the project navigator. And when I try to build it says "Missing package product 'MyLocalPackage'. The documentation linked above, which I used for the 1st app, does a "New > Package". I don't want a new package. How can I connect the existing one?

Simulator navigation does not match real device.
My app uses the top navigation panel which contains the back button, a title, and prompt. On an actual device, the navigation area is light and shows all three items. On the simulator, the navigation area is black and only the back button is shown. I need this to be correct for app store screen shots.

I have been working on a M1 Mac mini, using my iPad Air M2 running 26.3 iPadOS. Switched to a new M4 Mac mini, went to connect my iPad to run from Xcode and was presented this "The developer disk image could not be mounted on this device." So how can a get an updated DDI?
