How to attach to Privileged Helper as root?
We have a Privileged Helper tool that we install with SMJobBless. I would like to debug it. I've added WaitForDebugger in our helper tool launchd plist and it does wait. But I can't attach to it via Debug->Attach to Process in Xcode with error: Code: 3 Failure Reason: tried to attach to process as user 'myusername' and process is running as user 'root' I set Debug process as: root in scheme settings. But I'm not sure if it does anything since I'm not running this particular scheme at the moment of attach. I tried unsuccessfully to set "Wait for the executable to be launched" but I had to create a new scheme for it since helper is built as part of the main app so maybe I did something wrong. Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to attach to root process?

Stale Issues, refreshAllObjects() is not working
Hi Experts, Could you please help. Issue at high level: After Editing a View contains a Table entries, saved and hit back button to display View, Table entries are duplicated or displaying previous and current entries together. Here is my Issue in detailed. List view display, clicking on any row, would navigate to DisplayView of a record. I am displaying a table in DisplayView. DisplayView contains "row" as parameter, and it must be initialized in "init" method, where I use row.key and fetch another table (say ColorTab) using Color.Key. DisplayView contains "NavigationView", with Edit button. it displays fetched Colors. example Red and Green. when user click on Edit, it takes to EditPage. user can remove / add colors. Once user made changes, saved and hit back button. Table entries are duplicated or showing previous and current entries. Options tried, a) init method is only triggering 1st time, not triggering when back button clicked, I failed to use FetchRequest outside of init method, I tried on OnAppear too. i didn't trigger. b) Failed to use FetchRequest inside of var Body too. c) tried using viewContext.refreshAllObjects() .. it is not refreshing the table. Could you please help if there is solution for the issue. Thanks, Bhanu

In Xcode's build phases section is it possible to enable/disable compile flags bases on scheme
If an Xcode project has some compiler flags set in Build Phases / Compile Sources, then is it possible to have those enabled if scheme A is selected and disabled if scheme B is selected. Same question for things in Build Settings, such as Other Compiler Flags. I suppose it could be achieved by having two targets, one with things enabled and one without, but for a very large complex project, duplicating targets is not necessarily an easy thing to do.

Questions about Deployment Targets in Xcode
The “Deployment Targets” for iOS was IOS12 or higher in Xcode15, but is now listed as IOS15 or higher in Xcode16. https://aninterestingwebsite.com/support/xcode/ How does this change affect developers and users? For example, if a developer specifies less than iOS15 in the “iOS Deployment Target” on Xcode, how will this affect them? Also, will users under iOS 15 be unable to run the apps?

Xcode 13 "Missing package product" using local Swift Packages
I have a project I've been working off of for a few years now that makes use of local Swift Packages. In my workspace, I have a "Kit" project that generates a framework using several local Swift Packages as dependencies. In Xcode 12, the local Swift packages resolve correctly and compiles, but each beta of Xcode 13 gives me the error: "[ProjectName].xcodeproj Missing package product '[LocalSwiftPackage]'" Clearing the package cache, derived data, or restarting the application does not resolve the issue. Only Swift Packages that are remotely loaded from a URL are compiled correctly. Using local packages to separate module code, while still being able to edit in the same project, has been essential to my workflow and would hate to see Xcode 13 release with these breaking changes, and I have not seen this issue listed in the known issues for the Xcode 13 release notes. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround?

Xcode 16.0 syntax highlighting and autocompletion is broken for Swift packages with .binaryTarget

Unable to launch + Attach to Mac Widget (Sonoma + Xcode 15)

Xcode cannot find any frameworks
I am new to Xcode and trying to learn how to use Metal for my internship. I am trying to link the binaries of Foundation.framework, Metal.framework, and Quartcore.framework. But whenever I try to build it always fails to find any of them. I have my Header Search Path as $(PROJECT_DIR)/metal-cpp, I tried adding some for the Frameworks but that did not work either. I do have the binaries linked in the Build Phases, so I don't know what else I could be missing.

Xcode Not Displaying Code Coverage for Main App When Using Test Plan on iOS Simulator
I am encountering an issue where code coverage data is not showing for my main app in Xcode when running tests for the iOS simulator. However, code coverage is being reported correctly for some modules. Enable Code Coverage Support: YES Xcode 16.2 macOS: 15.3.1 Macbook Pro M1 14-inch, 2021 Despite these configurations, Xcode fails to show code coverage for the main app. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this issue and how to ensure code coverage is correctly reported for the main app during simulator builds?

App Clip cannot determine the source of the opening
Our business is to scan the code to open App Clip, but then App Clip will appear in App Library and Siri Suggestions. This can be opened quickly, but the URL of the last scan will be included. This will cause a problem, for example: if the previous scan was code A, but the user does not scan code B when going to place B and directly opens it through App Library or Siri Suggestions, the code I get is still code A, so the result I want is that I want to know where it was opened from, and then if it is opened quickly, I will clear the URL and remind the user to scan the code again. Or if it is opened by quick opening, do not include the URL

I double checked and make sure that I installed the Xcode command line tool on my Mac laptop. Any advice for this issue? Thanks.

MIssing visionOS 1.2 SDK for Xcode 15.3
Hi, I have been trying for a weeks to find vision SDK for apple visionOS . I now know I need it for xcode 15.3. apparently Unreal will not build correctly for the visionOS without this version. There are a lot of wild claims about using newer version but nothing new has worked and I am fallowing this webiste. Please point me in the right direction. 15.3 does not install the SDK and everything tells me it should. https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/tutorials/1JWr/unreal-engine-apple-vision-pro-quick-start-guide

Apple is behind with AI
It would be nice for Apple to integrate chatgpt, Open AI, and create their own artificial intelligence. Siri is not equipped to answer questions that AI can. With increasing AI prevalence and usability, Apple is behind. Message to Apple: PLEASE UTILIZE AI TO MAKE APPLE THE BEST PLATFORM.

Background process not working in TestFlight
Hi everyone, I recently built an iOS application that fetches the healthkit data with the BGProcessingTask. It is working as expected in the debug with the physical device connected but its not working in Testflight. I printed out the logs but they don't show that the background process's running. Here is my code snippet. func registerBackgroundTask() { BGTaskScheduler.shared.register(forTaskWithIdentifier: taskIdentifier, using: nil) { task in LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("registering the background task...") print("registering the background task...") self.handleBackgroundTask(task: task as! BGProcessingTask) } } func scheduleBackgroundHealthKitSync() { print("scheduling background task...") LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("scheduling background task...") let request = BGProcessingTaskRequest(identifier: taskIdentifier) request.earliestBeginDate = Date(timeIntervalSinceNow: 60 * 1) request.requiresNetworkConnectivity = true request.requiresExternalPower = false do { try BGTaskScheduler.shared.submit(request) print("BGProcessingTask scheduled") LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("BGProcessingTask scheduled") } catch { print("Failed to schedule task: \(error)") LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("Failed to schedule task: \(error)", isError: true) print(LogManager.shared.backgroundProcessLogs) } } func handleBackgroundTask(task: BGProcessingTask) { LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("handleBackgroundTask triggered") print("handleBackgroundTask triggered") let dispatchGroup = DispatchGroup() dispatchGroup.enter() // Reschedule the background sync for the next time scheduleBackgroundHealthKitSync() var taskCancelled = false // Handling expiration task.expirationHandler = { taskCancelled = true LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("Background task expired", isError: true) print("Background task expired") dispatchGroup.leave() } let healthKitManager = HealthKitManager.shared // Start the background sync operation healthKitManager.fetchAndSendAllTypes() { success in if success { LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("HealthKit sync completed successfully") print("HealthKit sync completed successfully") } else { LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("HealthKit sync failed", isError: true) print("HealthKit sync failed") } dispatchGroup.leave() } // Notify when all tasks are completed dispatchGroup.notify(queue: .main) { // Check if the task was cancelled using your own flag or state if taskCancelled { task.setTaskCompleted(success: false) // Fail the task if it was cancelled } else { task.setTaskCompleted(success: true) // Complete successfully if not cancelled } LogManager.shared.addBackgroundProcessLog("Background task ended with status: \(taskCancelled == false)") print("Background task completed with success: \(taskCancelled == false)") // Logs success or failure } } Here are the logs from my device. scheduling background task... BGProcessingTask scheduled
