Providing pre-filled sample data for reviewer experience in Swift Student Challenge: Is it recommended?
Hi everyone, I am currently developing an app for my Swift Student Challenge submission. One of the key features of my app is visualizing user progress over time using SwiftData and Swift Charts. I have a concern regarding the first-time experience for the reviewer. Since the app relies on accumulated data to display meaningful trends, the dashboard/charts will appear empty on the very first launch, which might not fully showcase the visualization logic I’ve implemented. To ensure the reviewer can immediately grasp the app's potential within their limited review window, I am considering generating pre-populated sample data (mock data) only on the initial launch. Does Apple generally recommend including sample data in a challenge submission to better demonstrate UI/UX and data visualization capabilities? Or is it strictly preferred to present a "fresh" empty state, as a real first-time user would see it? I want to make sure I am following the best practices for the challenge while highlighting my technical implementation of the SwiftData and Charts frameworks. Thank you in advance for your advice!

Unable to update to the beta version of iPadOS26.
I tried to update to the currently released beta version of iPad OS26, but I can't seem to update due to lack of storage space on my iPad. Is there any other way to update besides freeing up space? Model: iPad 8 Storage: 18GB/32GB I would appreciate it if anyone has any information on how to free up storage space in order to update to iPad OS26.

Apple Support Not Responding
Hello. I just got my developer account and my legal entity on my account has a mistake. My last name is spelled wrong. I have sent 3 emails to support about this and for the past week i have zero response to this issue. Can someone advise me on this? The ability to reach anybody from support is ridiculous for something that we can access only after payment especially. I even called apple business program with this and person on the phone said they will try to take to the supervisor but its not their department which i of course know but it was worth a shot to call. What more can i do? I didnt make a mistake when creating my account it was the system that didn’t recognize the letter. Such a stupid and frustrating issue and no response from apple, nada. how long am i suppose to wait?

What is it so hard to develop on the Watch?
I am trying to develop a Watch and iOS app as companion. It is beyond stupid how I can not keep the watch connected to Xcode to develop. I have tried all the so-called tricks. Why is this so fragile? The phone is USB connected to my Mac I have tried turning off the wifi on my Mac and have the phone and watch on the same network. Nada I have tried just having everything on the same network. The watch is connected maybe 20% of the time. I have tried creating a hotspot network with my phone. The watch is connected maybe 50% of the time. This is truly an awful experience. Am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be grateful.

Hello Apple Developer Technical Support team, We have an iOS app that provides caller identification via a Call Directory extension (CXCallDirectoryProvider). Our extension provides identification entries (phone number → label), and users enable it in Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification. We would like to confirm whether Call Directory is used only for incoming calls, and understand why the outgoing call UI sometimes shows labels. Observed behavior Incoming calls: After a user logs in again (which triggers a server sync and then reloads the Call Directory extension), the caller label is shown correctly on the incoming call screen for matching numbers. Outgoing calls: In general, the outgoing call screen often shows only the phone number (no label), even when the same number exists in our identification entries and the extension is enabled. However, on some devices, the outgoing call screen does show a label even when the number is not saved in the local Contacts app. In at least one customer case, the outgoing label behavior changed after an iOS update: before updating iOS, labels were not shown on outgoing calls; after updating iOS, labels started appearing (with no changes in our app settings/config). Questions Is the Phone app expected to consult Call Directory identification entries only for incoming calls (caller ID), and not for outgoing call UI? If labels can appear on outgoing calls, what are the possible sources and rules (e.g., Recents cache, carrier Name Display/CNAM, other system caches), and is any of that behavior documented? Are there known iOS version changes or issues that could explain “outgoing label not shown” becoming “outgoing label shown” after an OS update? Speed AppleTV > Distorted HomePod Audio
Hey everyone. Ever since installed OS26 (and 26.1 now) - whenever I fast play any video on 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x on the AppleTV - the audio gets massively distorted on HomePods. Be it on YouTube, Difuse, or any supporting app. I even tried mirroring from iPhone -same issue. Anyone else experiencing the same? I noticed no posts about troubleshooting.

IOS 26 Developer Beta 3
This is my first problem and my first question hopefully somebody can help or give me some suggestions. I was in the developr beta of IOS 26 build(235260n) for a while I haven't updated it since the new beat has came out, beta 3. I have been trying to update requested, after about 20 seconds it goes away but does not start the download the update. The problem also begins to download something into the system beta goes from 22.85 GB to 33.78 GB. It just holds the update but doesn't;t update the phone. I have tried power cycling the device and everytime I do that it just resets the system data and allows up to try the update again. Unsure what to do and don't know if I would need to wait for the public beta for IOS26 to change anything on the device. Please let me know if you guys have any more suggestions what should be the next step. I also was unsure if I should backup the device and reinstall it to make sure that its not something with the conncetion.

WKWebview returns an 'unsupported type' error on every single function after first success while other webview works flawlessly.
I'm working on a SwiftUI application that uses a couple different webviews in a tabview to render some mdx and codemirror editor. The editor webview, the one that's much more complicated works as expected. Some errors appear in the console due to what I imagine is a race condition that I'll get around to fixing, but it works as expected. The other webview which just renders a single, local html file to display a dead simple summary absolutely refuses to work. It first appears to work as expected (shows the same 'return type unsupported' error in the console though) on the initial request, but then refuses to process any JS functions for that particular webview. Even the functions themselves are being used between the two webviews, and they work as expected in the other. Even worse, when I copy and paste the generated JS code into the safari dev tools it works as expected, even in the broken webview. I've spent almost 12 hours on this today so far, and have made zero progress. I've tried commenting out just about the entire website to narrow it down on the JS side without success, and I've done everything I can think of on the swift side. To be transparent, I'm very new to Swift and SwiftUI, having only picked it up a few weeks ago, but I'm an experienced developer and every obvious solution fails to work. From what I've gathered, this might have something to do with the first function call failing, despite the fact that it appears to work on the first function call, but then the javascript engine refusing to process additional requests. I'm not sure if that's the cause, but it certainly seems to make sense. Is there a way to debug this more completely? What would trigger a security warning for running javascript against a local file? Any help is greatly appreciated... this is driving me crazy.

Unable to RENEW Developer Account - no "Renew" button
After checking the forum, it's clear that Apple has a MAJOR ONGOING PROBLEM here. We are far from the only company experiencing this, and it has been a problem for years. Apple, please FIX THIS! What's the problem? We receive an email reminding us to renew our developer account. All of Apple's instructions to renew do not work (with no explanation), and yet we are threatened with removal of our apps if we do not renew in time. Firstly, it should be unnecessary for us to manually renew because we registered a valid credit card to auto-renew. It worked last year, and the same credit card continues to be valid. Secondly, when we try to manually renew, there is no "Renew" button appearing anywhere, contrary to Apple's instructions. It's not in the Developer app (Mac or iOS), and it does not appear in the Developer account website. We now have only 16 days left until Apple kicks our app out of the App Store. @APPLE: We are not alone. Lots of your customers have the same problem, as reported on this forum for multiple years. This problem threatens the livelihoods of many people. Please fix this! Thank you.

Sudden Termination of Apple Developer Account - Seeking Community Advice
Hello, everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'm facing an unfortunate issue with my Apple Developer Program membership that was suddenly terminated. I received a generic email from Apple, stating that my membership was revoked, but no specific reason was provided for this action. I appealed the decision, offering all possible explanations and commitments to adhere to guidelines, only to be met with a reply stating that the decision is "final" and no subsequent appeals will be processed. Has anyone here faced a similar situation? Are there any steps that can be taken to understand the reason for termination when Apple doesn't disclose it? Is there a way to open a dialogue with Apple, even when they've stated that their decision is final? Would publicizing this issue through social media or blogs be advisable? This is a particularly trying time for us, as we are recovering from a recent earthquake and our app is our sole source of income. External Keyboard and Mouse Input Broken in iOS/iPadOS 18.4.1 — Apple and Third-Party Devices Affected (Magic Keyboard, Redragon K580RGBPRO, Razer Naga V2 Pro)
In the public release of iOS 18.4.1 and iPadOS 18.4.1, external input support for keyboards and mice is critically degraded. This issue affects both Apple-branded and third-party HID-compliant devices, over both wired USB-C and Bluetooth. Tested Hardware: • iPhone 16 Pro Max (256GB) • iPad Pro (USB-C, latest gen), last gen iPad as well Affected Devices: • Apple Magic Mouse and Keys (wired USB-C/Bluetooth) • Redragon K580RGBPRO (Bluetooth/wired USB-C) • Razer Naga V2 Pro (Bluetooth/USB-C) Symptoms: • Severe keystroke delay and dropped input • Modifier keys (Shift, Command, Option) fail intermittently • Input degrades further with multiple HID devices connected • Mouse input via Bluetooth exhibits pointer lag and jitter • Occurs in all apps: Notes, Safari, Mail, text fields, password entries, etc. • Identical results using Apple USB-C cables Reproducibility: 100%. Clean boots, minimal background activity, and isolated environments (including Airplane Mode) do not resolve the issue. Identical behavior across both iPhone and iPad. Expected Behavior: All HID-compliant external input devices — particularly Apple-branded ones — should provide low-latency, reliable, and consistent input over both USB-C and Bluetooth, especially in a production iOS/iPadOS release. Actual Behavior: External keyboards and mice exhibit: • Lag • Dropped characters • Failed modifiers • Degraded mouse tracking Even with the latest hardware and clean configurations. Severity: Critical. This is a platform-level failure affecting I/O at the user interaction layer. Input reliability is non-negotiable — especially on $2000+ flagship devices using Apple’s own peripherals. Closing Note (for Apple engineering &amp; peer devs): This is not a beta regression — it’s a public release flaw that undermines iOS and iPadOS usability for power users, professionals, and accessibility communities alike. That Apple Magic Keyboard, Redragon, and Razer gear all fail equally and consistently should be a wake-up call. Apple: this needs to be escalated. Now. External input — one of the most basic subsystems in any OS — is broken on your highest-end devices.

App Switcher briefly flashes or disappears on iPadOS 26.0.1
I’m experiencing a strange issue with the App Switcher on my iPad. When I swipe up from the bottom to open the App Switcher, the apps that should be running sometimes don’t appear — they briefly flash for a split second and then disappear. The App Switcher itself stays open, but it shows no app cards. Here are some details: Device: iPad Pro (11-inch, 2nd generation) iPadOS version: 26.0.1 Reproducibility: Happens intermittently Steps to reproduce: Open several apps. Swipe up from the bottom and pause to show the App Switcher. Sometimes, the app cards flash for a moment and then disappear, leaving the App Switcher empty. Expected behavior: The App Switcher should display all running apps consistently. Actual behavior: The App Switcher appears, but the app cards briefly flash and disappear, leaving a blank screen. macOS Tahoe Beta no internet or file sharing
I just installed macOS Tahoe beta on a mac mini. It says I am not connected to the internet, and attempts to use file sharing fail. Network status says that Ethernet and WiFi are working. Any suggestions?

Tahoe beta 2 install successful but cannot get past login with a valid login
Installation has completed login is successful but after 30 secs it returns to login screen safe mode does the same. tried recovery mode and reinstalled. Still in the login loop. what are my choices now?

WKWebview returns an 'unsupported type' error on every single function after first success while other webview works flawlessly.
I'm working on a SwiftUI application that uses a couple different webviews in a tabview to render some mdx and codemirror editor. The editor webview, the one that's much more complicated works as expected. Some errors appear in the console due to what I imagine is a race condition that I'll get around to fixing, but it works as expected. The other webview which just renders a single, local html file to display a dead simple summary absolutely refuses to work. It first appears to work as expected (shows the same 'return type unsupported' error in the console though) on the initial request, but then refuses to process any JS functions for that particular webview. Even the functions themselves are being used between the two webviews, and they work as expected in the other. Even worse, when I copy and paste the generated JS code into the safari dev tools it works as expected, even in the broken webview. I've spent almost 12 hours on this today so far, and have made zero progress. I've tried commenting out just about the entire website to narrow it down on the JS side without success, and I've done everything I can think of on the swift side. To be transparent, I'm very new to Swift and SwiftUI, having only picked it up a few weeks ago, but I'm an experienced developer and every obvious solution fails to work. From what I've gathered, this might have something to do with the first function call failing, despite the fact that it appears to work on the first function call, but then the javascript engine refusing to process additional requests. I'm not sure if that's the cause, but it certainly seems to make sense. Is there a way to debug this more completely? Like I said, I'm very new to Swift and still missing neovim, so I'm still getting comfortable with the apple ecosystem of devtools, but I can't even figure out how to print out the return type since it fails before I'm able to inspect anything on the safari side I did notice this error in the console as well, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it: Error acquiring assertion: <Error Domain=RBSServiceErrorDomain Code=1 "((target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent))" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=((target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent))}> And as I was digging for that one, I just noticed this: WebContent[32934] 0x102011208 - [webPageID=306] WebPage::runJavaScriptInFrameInScriptWorld: Request to run JavaScript failed with error SecurityError: The operation is insecure. What would trigger a security warning for running javascript against a local file? Any help is greatly appreciated... this is driving me crazy.

Unable to RENEW Developer Account - no "Renew" button
After checking the forum, it's clear that Apple has a MAJOR ONGOING PROBLEM here. We are far from the only company experiencing this, and it has been a problem for years. Apple, please FIX THIS! What's the problem? We receive an email reminding us to renew our developer account. All of Apple's instructions to renew do not work (with no explanation), and yet we are threatened with removal of our apps if we do not renew in time. Firstly, it should be unnecessary for us to manually renew because we registered a valid credit card to auto-renew. It worked last year, and the same credit card continues to be valid. Secondly, when we try to manually renew, there is no "Renew" button appearing anywhere, contrary to Apple's instructions. It's not in the Developer app (Mac or iOS), and it does not appear in the Developer account website. We now have only 16 days left until Apple kicks our app out of the App Store. @APPLE: We are not alone. Lots of your customers have the same problem, as reported on this forum for multiple years. This problem threatens the livelihoods of many people. Please fix this! Thank you.

Metal not working in Swift Playgrounds (SSC Scene)
Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a Swift Playgrounds project where I need to incorporate a Metal shader file. However, when I tried to include my shader file (PincushionShader.metal), I encountered the following error: Is it possible to use Metal shader files within Swift Playgrounds, it is really important for my swift student challenge scene? If not, are there any workarounds or recommended approaches for testing Metal shaders in a similar environment? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sudden Termination of Apple Developer Account - Seeking Community Advice
Hello, everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'm facing an unfortunate issue with my Apple Developer Program membership that was suddenly terminated. I received a generic email from Apple, stating that my membership was revoked, but no specific reason was provided for this action. I appealed the decision, offering all possible explanations and commitments to adhere to guidelines, only to be met with a reply stating that the decision is "final" and no subsequent appeals will be processed. Has anyone here faced a similar situation? Are there any steps that can be taken to understand the reason for termination when Apple doesn't disclose it? Is there a way to open a dialogue with Apple, even when they've stated that their decision is final? Would publicizing this issue through social media or blogs be advisable? This is a particularly trying time for us, as we are recovering from a recent earthquake and our app is our sole source of income. External Keyboard and Mouse Input Broken in iOS/iPadOS 18.4.1 — Apple and Third-Party Devices Affected (Magic Keyboard, Redragon K580RGBPRO, Razer Naga V2 Pro)
In the public release of iOS 18.4.1 and iPadOS 18.4.1, external input support for keyboards and mice is critically degraded. This issue affects both Apple-branded and third-party HID-compliant devices, over both wired USB-C and Bluetooth. Tested Hardware: • iPhone 16 Pro Max (256GB) • iPad Pro (USB-C, latest gen), last gen iPad as well Affected Devices: • Apple Magic Mouse and Keys (wired USB-C/Bluetooth) • Redragon K580RGBPRO (Bluetooth/wired USB-C) • Razer Naga V2 Pro (Bluetooth/USB-C) Symptoms: • Severe keystroke delay and dropped input • Modifier keys (Shift, Command, Option) fail intermittently • Input degrades further with multiple HID devices connected • Mouse input via Bluetooth exhibits pointer lag and jitter • Occurs in all apps: Notes, Safari, Mail, text fields, password entries, etc. • Identical results using Apple USB-C cables Reproducibility: 100%. Clean boots, minimal background activity, and isolated environments (including Airplane Mode) do not resolve the issue. Identical behavior across both iPhone and iPad. Expected Behavior: All HID-compliant external input devices — particularly Apple-branded ones — should provide low-latency, reliable, and consistent input over both USB-C and Bluetooth, especially in a production iOS/iPadOS release. Actual Behavior: External keyboards and mice exhibit: • Lag • Dropped characters • Failed modifiers • Degraded mouse tracking Even with the latest hardware and clean configurations. Severity: Critical. This is a platform-level failure affecting I/O at the user interaction layer. Input reliability is non-negotiable — especially on $2000+ flagship devices using Apple’s own peripherals. Closing Note (for Apple engineering &amp; peer devs): This is not a beta regression — it’s a public release flaw that undermines iOS and iPadOS usability for power users, professionals, and accessibility communities alike. That Apple Magic Keyboard, Redragon, and Razer gear all fail equally and consistently should be a wake-up call. Apple: this needs to be escalated. Now. External input — one of the most basic subsystems in any OS — is broken on your highest-end devices.

App Switcher briefly flashes or disappears on iPadOS 26.0.1
I’m experiencing a strange issue with the App Switcher on my iPad. When I swipe up from the bottom to open the App Switcher, the apps that should be running sometimes don’t appear — they briefly flash for a split second and then disappear. The App Switcher itself stays open, but it shows no app cards. Here are some details: Device: iPad Pro (11-inch, 2nd generation) iPadOS version: 26.0.1 Reproducibility: Happens intermittently Steps to reproduce: Open several apps. Swipe up from the bottom and pause to show the App Switcher. Sometimes, the app cards flash for a moment and then disappear, leaving the App Switcher empty. Expected behavior: The App Switcher should display all running apps consistently. Actual behavior: The App Switcher appears, but the app cards briefly flash and disappear, leaving a blank screen. I’ve seen a few similar reports on the Apple Support Community, but I’m not sure if this is a known issue in iPadOS 26.0.1. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any confirmations or workarounds would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
