Possible bug in Capability Requests tab
Hello, Recently our team requested the "Notification (NSE) filtering" capability. Our request was rejected but we sent a new request with a more detailed explanation of our need. However if we go check the status of the request in the Capability Requests tab the status is "No requests". We sent the new request yesterday. Is it even possible to request a capability after a rejected request? We really need the capability and the absence of it is blocking our progress.

ScreenCaptureKit permissions lost after every build — solved by switching signing identity
Sharing a solution for a problem that took me a while to figure out. Problem: During development of a macOS 26 app that uses ScreenCaptureKit, the screen capture permissions were being reset after every build. Each time I compiled and ran the app from Xcode, I had to re-authorize screen capture in System Settings. CGPreflightScreenCaptureAccess() would return false even though I'd just granted permission minutes ago. Root cause: I was using ad-hoc code signing during development. macOS ties screen capture permissions to the app's code signing identity. With ad-hoc signing, the identity changes on every build, so the system treats each build as a "new" app. Solution: Switch to an Apple Development certificate for debug builds. In Xcode: Build Settings → Code Signing Identity → Debug → set to "Apple Development" Make sure your development team is selected After this change, the signing identity remains stable across builds, and screen capture permissions persist. This might be related to the broader issue discussed in this forum about ScreenCapture permissions disappearing — if other developers are seeing permissions vanish, it's worth checking whether the code signing identity is changing between sessions.

Side Button Access entitlement not appearing in Xcode capabilities list
Hi everyone, I'm trying to add the Side Button Access entitlement to my voice-based conversational app following the documentation, but I'm unable to find it in Xcode. Steps I followed: Selected my app target in Xcode project navigator Went to the Signing & Capabilities tab Clicked the + Capability button Searched for "Side Button Access" Problem: The "Side Button Access" option does not appear in the capabilities list at all. Environment: I'm developing and testing in Japan (where this feature should be available) Xcode version: Xcode 26.2 beta 3 iOS deployment target: iOS 26.2 Questions: Is there any pre-registration or special approval process required from Apple before this entitlement becomes available? Are there any additional requirements or prerequisites I need to meet? Is this feature already available, or is it still in a limited beta phase? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Certificate Active in Keychain and I think Xcode but Not Recognized by VS Code / Flutter on macOS Tahoe (macOS 15)
Hi, hoping someone can help here. I recently updated my Mac to macOS 15 (Tahoe) and am using Xcode 15+ (possibly 16). I’m working on a Flutter app and testing on a real iPhone device. Here's the situation: I’m using the free Apple Developer account. My signing certificate and provisioning profile both show as valid and active in Keychain and says "signing..." in Xcode. When I build and run the app from Xcode, it works completely fine on a simulator. But when I try to run the same project from VS Code using flutter run, whether on an simulator phone or my personal iphone, I get a code signing error, specifically: Failed to codesign Flutter.framework with identity... I believe the app is set to use the correct Team ID because it says my name and (team) (my team ID isBDKUKWVRBY), and I can see my certificate in Keychain under "My Certificates". What I’ve already tried: flutter clean pod install / pod update Manually selecting my team in Xcode Signing settings Restarting my machine and VS Code Confirming the same project builds on other machines Verified provisioning profile is assigned to the project in Xcode deleting and recreating a certificate I have even had AI inside VS code take a shot at it and that couldn't fix either My question: Why would VS Code / Flutter not be able to use the same certificate and signing setup that works in Xcode? Is this an issue with Flutter tooling on macOS 15, or do I need to reconfigure signing differently now? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated!

Unable to remove certificate from xcode
I have certificates in my xcode>settings>account>manage certificates that I cannot get rid of. I know that they are linked to certificates in aninterestingwebsite.com but I've removed them from there and they persist in xcode. I have one that says "Not in Keychain", which is true. I deleted all the keychains related to these accounts in an attempt to fix something. I also have ones that say things like "Missing Private key" Our setup is that we have one main account "Company Inc." which I am setup to be an Admin in. I created a certificate under my credentials and added it to my keychain and showed up properly in xcode but I still have the other ones. HOW DO I REMOVE THEM :sob:

Dear Apple Developer Support, I am experiencing a critical issue with Developer ID certificates issued for Turkish (C=TR) developer accounts that prevents code signing on macOS. Issue Summary All Turkish Developer ID certificates issued on October 4, 2025, contain an Apple proprietary extension (OID 1.2.840.113635.100.6.1.13) marked as "critical" that both OpenSSL and codesign cannot handle. Xcode Automatic Signing Failure After Adding Keychain Capability – Mac Device Incorrectly Identified as iPod

What I've Investigated/Tried: Checked the developer account devices and found that the device with identifier 00008112-000904CA3441xxxx is incorrectly labeled as an “iPod” (it is actually my MacBook Air). Attempted to manually enroll the Mac again, but it still appears as an iPod in the device list. Tried creating a provisioning profile manually, but no devices are available for selection in the device list when generating the profile. Question: Has anyone encountered a similar issue where a Mac is misidentified as an iPod in the developer portal, leading to provisioning failures? Unable to submit a Capability Request
In the Developer portal, I'm attempting to add the "DriverKit UserClient Access" to an App ID that is assigned to a DEXT that we are developing. Once I have filled out the form and clicked "Submit" the screen goes bank and stays blank even after a long delay. The original Capability Request tab's entry for "DriverKit UserClient Access" never changes from "No Requests". I have tried this on two successive days, with the same result.

Title: Push notifications not working on iOS – aps-environment missing in signed app with manual Codemagic signing
Hi everyone, I’m having trouble getting remote push notifications working on iOS for a production Flutter app, and it looks like it’s related to the provisioning profile / entitlements used during signing. Context Platform: Flutter Push provider: OneSignal (backend is Supabase; Android push works fine) CI: Codemagic Target: iOS TestFlight / App Store builds I’m on Windows, so I cannot open Xcode locally. All iOS builds happen via Codemagic. Capabilities / entitlements In the Apple Developer portal, my App ID for com.zachspizza.app has: Push Notifications capability enabled A separate Broadcast capability is listed but currently not checked. In my repo, ios/Runner/Runner.entitlements contains: xml aps-environment production So the project is clearly requesting the push entitlement. Codemagic signing setup For my App Store workflow (ios_appstore_release in codemagic.yaml ): I use a combination of manual and automatic signing: Environment variables can provide: P12_BASE64 + P12_PASSWORD (distribution certificate) MOBILEPROVISION_BASE64 (a .mobileprovision file) A script in the workflow: Creates a temporary keychain. Imports the .p12 and installs the .mobileprovision into ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles. For the final export, I generate an exportOptions.plist that does: If a profile name/UUID is provided via env (PROV_PROFILE_SPEC, PROV_PROFILE_UUID, PROVISIONING_PROFILE_SPECIFIER, PROVISIONING_PROFILE): xml signingStylemanual provisioningProfiles com.zachspizza.app[profile name or UUID] Otherwise, it falls back to: xml signingStyleautomatic After archiving and exporting, my script runs: bash codesign -d --entitlements :- "$ARCHIVE_PATH/Products/Applications/Runner.app" ... and again on the signed Runner.app inside the exported IPA codesign -d --entitlements :- "$SIGNED_APP" In both cases, the effective entitlements output does not show aps-environment, even though: The App ID has push enabled. Android devices receive notifications as expected with the same backend payloads. OneSignal configuration and backend are verified; this appears to be an APNs / signing / entitlements problem. The Codemagic logs strongly suggest that the provisioning profile being used for signing does not carry aps-environment. Questions Under what conditions would a distribution provisioning profile (for an App ID with Push Notifications enabled) result in a signed app without aps-environment, even when: The entitlements file in the project includes aps-environment, and The App ID in the Developer portal has Push Notifications enabled? Does using a CI flow like the above (custom .p12 + .mobileprovision installed via script, exportOptions with signingStyle=manual) increase the chances of: Xcode ignoring the requested entitlements, or Selecting a provisioning profile variant that does not include the push entitlement? Is there a recommended way, from the Apple side, to verify that a given .mobileprovision (the one I’m base64-encoding and installing in CI) definitely includes the aps-environment entitlement for my bundle ID? i.e., a canonical method to inspect the profile and confirm that APNs is included before using it in CI? Are there any known edge cases where: The project entitlements include aps-environment, The App ID has Push Notifications enabled, But the final signed app still has no aps-environment, due to profile mismatch or signing configuration? Given that I’m on Windows and can’t open Xcode to manage signing directly, I’d really appreciate guidance on how to ensure that the correct push-enabled provisioning profile is being used in this CI/manual-signing setup, and how to debug why aps-environment is being stripped or not applied. Screen Time API, DeviceActivity, Family Controls, Entitlements, Provisioning Profile
Hello everyone, I'm hoping to find a solution for a critical issue that is blocking my app's submission to the App Store. My app uses the Screen Time API and therefore has a main app and a DeviceActivityMonitor extension. The main app has been successfully granted the Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement. However, the DeviceActivityMonitor extension is stuck with only the Family Controls (Development) entitlement. This mismatch causes my build to fail during the archive/distribution process with the error: "Provisioning profile failed qualification. Profile doesn't support Family Controls (Development)." This is a hard blocker, as the extension is a mandatory part of the API. I have already filled out the entitlement request form and also contacted Developer Support (Case #102666581576), who confirmed they could not assist and directed me here. My question is: What is the correct procedure to escalate or resolve the issue of a required extension not receiving the distribution-level Family Controls entitlement after the main app has already been approved? Has anyone else encountered this specific "Development" vs. "Distribution" mismatch and found a definitive way to resolve it? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Flutter iOS Widget Extension – CodeSign Failed (ActivityKit entitlement missing, cannot enable in Identifiers)
Hello everyone, I am developing a Flutter iOS application that includes a Widget Extension + Live Activity (ActivityKit). The project runs successfully on the iOS simulator when launched directly from Xcode, but it cannot be signed properly via Flutter and I cannot upload the build to App Store Connect due to the following CodeSign error: Command CodeSign failed with a nonzero exit code Provisioning profile "…" doesn't include the entitlement: com.apple.developer.activitykit.allow-third-party-activity This error never goes away no matter what I try. And the main problem is that my App ID does NOT show any ActivityKit or Live Activity capability in the Apple Developer portal → Identifiers → App ID. So I cannot enable it manually. Inquiry Regarding Gatekeeper Behavior During Application Upgrade
Can you please help us with the scenario below, including details and Apple’s recommendations? I've already read through the Notarization and Gatekeeper documentation. The installed version of our application is 1.2.3, located in /Applications/XYZSecurity.app. We created an upgrade package for version 1.2.4. As part of the pre-install script in the 1.2.4 installer, we explicitly deleted some obsolete .dylib files from /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/Frameworks and some executable files from /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/MacOS that were no longer needed in version 1.2.4. The installation of version 1.2.4 completed successfully, but we see the below error logs in installer.log: PackageKit: Failed to unlinkat file reference /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/Frameworks/libhelper.dylib PackageKit: Failed to unlinkat file reference /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/MacOS/helper-tool Our Key Questions: Is it the right practice to remove obsolete files in the pre-install script during an upgrade? Notarization taking forever
I am submitting .dmg notarization requests from Sequoia 15.7.3 using xcrun submit. My developer certificate was created in the last two weeks and is valid. I have had some successful notarizations already so I know that my configuration is correct. However, for the last 48 hours all of my submissions are stuck at 'in progress'. Is there an issue with the notarization service on Apple's side?

Possible bug in Capability Requests tab
Hello, Recently our team requested the "Notification (NSE) filtering" capability. Our request was rejected but we sent a new request with a more detailed explanation of our need. However if we go check the status of the request in the Capability Requests tab the status is "No requests". We sent the new request yesterday. Is it even possible to request a capability after a rejected request? We really need the capability and the absence of it is blocking our progress.

ScreenCaptureKit permissions lost after every build — solved by switching signing identity
Sharing a solution for a problem that took me a while to figure out. Problem: During development of a macOS 26 app that uses ScreenCaptureKit, the screen capture permissions were being reset after every build. Each time I compiled and ran the app from Xcode, I had to re-authorize screen capture in System Settings. CGPreflightScreenCaptureAccess() would return false even though I'd just granted permission minutes ago. Root cause: I was using ad-hoc code signing during development. macOS ties screen capture permissions to the app's code signing identity. With ad-hoc signing, the identity changes on every build, so the system treats each build as a "new" app. Solution: Switch to an Apple Development certificate for debug builds. In Xcode: Build Settings → Code Signing Identity → Debug → set to "Apple Development" Make sure your development team is selected After this change, the signing identity remains stable across builds, and screen capture permissions persist. This might be related to the broader issue discussed in this forum about ScreenCapture permissions disappearing — if other developers are seeing permissions vanish, it's worth checking whether the code signing identity is changing between sessions.

Side Button Access entitlement not appearing in Xcode capabilities list
Hi everyone, I'm trying to add the Side Button Access entitlement to my voice-based conversational app following the documentation, but I'm unable to find it in Xcode. Steps I followed: Selected my app target in Xcode project navigator Went to the Signing & Capabilities tab Clicked the + Capability button Searched for "Side Button Access" Problem: The "Side Button Access" option does not appear in the capabilities list at all. Certificate Active in Keychain and I think Xcode but Not Recognized by VS Code / Flutter on macOS Tahoe (macOS 15)
Hi, hoping someone can help here. I recently updated my Mac to macOS 15 (Tahoe) and am using Xcode 15+ (possibly 16). I’m working on a Flutter app and testing on a real iPhone device. Here's the situation: I’m using the free Apple Developer account. My signing certificate and provisioning profile both show as valid and active in Keychain and says "signing..." in Xcode. When I build and run the app from Xcode, it works completely fine on a simulator. But when I try to run the same project from VS Code using flutter run, whether on an simulator phone or my personal iphone, I get a code signing error, specifically: Failed to codesign Flutter.framework with identity... I believe the app is set to use the correct Team ID because it says my name and (team) (my team ID isBDKUKWVRBY), and I can see my certificate in Keychain under "My Certificates". What I’ve already tried: flutter clean pod install / pod update Manually selecting my team in Xcode Signing settings Restarting my machine and VS Code Confirming the same project builds on other machines Verified provisioning profile is assigned to the project in Xcode deleting and recreating a certificate I have even had AI inside VS code take a shot at it and that couldn't fix either My question: Why would VS Code / Flutter not be able to use the same certificate and signing setup that works in Xcode? Is this an issue with Flutter tooling on macOS 15, or do I need to reconfigure signing differently now? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated!

Unable to remove certificate from xcode
I have certificates in my xcode>settings>account>manage certificates that I cannot get rid of. I know that they are linked to certificates in aninterestingwebsite.com but I've removed them from there and they persist in xcode. I have one that says "Not in Keychain", which is true. I deleted all the keychains related to these accounts in an attempt to fix something. I also have ones that say things like "Missing Private key" Our setup is that we have one main account "Company Inc." which I am setup to be an Admin in. I created a certificate under my credentials and added it to my keychain and showed up properly in xcode but I still have the other ones. HOW DO I REMOVE THEM :sob:

Dear Apple Developer Support, I am experiencing a critical issue with Developer ID certificates issued for Turkish (C=TR) developer accounts that prevents code signing on macOS. Issue Summary All Turkish Developer ID certificates issued on October 4, 2025, contain an Apple proprietary extension (OID 1.2.840.113635.100.6.1.13) marked as "critical" that both OpenSSL and codesign cannot handle. What I've Investigated/Tried: Checked the developer account devices and found that the device with identifier 00008112-000904CA3441xxxx is incorrectly labeled as an “iPod” (it is actually my MacBook Air). Attempted to manually enroll the Mac again, but it still appears as an iPod in the device list. Tried creating a provisioning profile manually, but no devices are available for selection in the device list when generating the profile. Question: Has anyone encountered a similar issue where a Mac is misidentified as an iPod in the developer portal, leading to provisioning failures? Hi all, I’m trying to notarize a Flutter macOS app built in CI (GitHub Actions). The app builds and signs fine locally—codesign --verify --deep --strict and spctl --assess both pass. Unable to submit a Capability Request
In the Developer portal, I'm attempting to add the "DriverKit UserClient Access" to an App ID that is assigned to a DEXT that we are developing. Once I have filled out the form and clicked "Submit" the screen goes bank and stays blank even after a long delay. The original Capability Request tab's entry for "DriverKit UserClient Access" never changes from "No Requests". I have tried this on two successive days, with the same result.

Title: Push notifications not working on iOS – aps-environment missing in signed app with manual Codemagic signing
Hi everyone, I’m having trouble getting remote push notifications working on iOS for a production Flutter app, and it looks like it’s related to the provisioning profile / entitlements used during signing. Context Platform: Flutter Push provider: OneSignal (backend is Supabase; Android push works fine) CI: Codemagic Target: iOS TestFlight / App Store builds I’m on Windows, so I cannot open Xcode locally. All iOS builds happen via Codemagic. Capabilities / entitlements In the Apple Developer portal, my App ID for com.zachspizza.app has: Push Notifications capability enabled A separate Broadcast capability is listed but currently not checked. In my repo, ios/Runner/Runner.entitlements contains: xml aps-environment production So the project is clearly requesting the push entitlement. Codemagic signing setup For my App Store workflow (ios_appstore_release in codemagic.yaml ): I use a combination of manual and automatic signing: Environment variables can provide: P12_BASE64 + P12_PASSWORD (distribution certificate) MOBILEPROVISION_BASE64 (a .mobileprovision file) A script in the workflow: Creates a temporary keychain. Imports the .p12 and installs the .mobileprovision into ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles. For the final export, I generate an exportOptions.plist that does: If a profile name/UUID is provided via env (PROV_PROFILE_SPEC, PROV_PROFILE_UUID, PROVISIONING_PROFILE_SPECIFIER, PROVISIONING_PROFILE): xml signingStylemanual provisioningProfiles com.zachspizza.app[profile name or UUID] Otherwise, it falls back to: xml signingStyleautomatic After archiving and exporting, my script runs: bash codesign -d --entitlements :- "$ARCHIVE_PATH/Products/Applications/Runner.app" ... and again on the signed Runner.app inside the exported IPA codesign -d --entitlements :- "$SIGNED_APP" In both cases, the effective entitlements output does not show aps-environment, even though: The App ID has push enabled. Runner.entitlements includes aps-environment = production. Observed behavior iOS devices (TestFlight build) do not receive remote push notifications at all. Android devices receive notifications as expected with the same backend payloads. OneSignal configuration and backend are verified; this appears to be an APNs / signing / entitlements problem. The Codemagic logs strongly suggest that the provisioning profile being used for signing does not carry aps-environment. Questions Under what conditions would a distribution provisioning profile (for an App ID with Push Notifications enabled) result in a signed app without aps-environment, even when: The entitlements file in the project includes aps-environment, and The App ID in the Developer portal has Push Notifications enabled? Does using a CI flow like the above (custom .p12 + .mobileprovision installed via script, exportOptions with signingStyle=manual) increase the chances of: Xcode ignoring the requested entitlements, or Selecting a provisioning profile variant that does not include the push entitlement? Is there a recommended way, from the Apple side, to verify that a given .mobileprovision (the one I’m base64-encoding and installing in CI) definitely includes the aps-environment entitlement for my bundle ID? i.e., a canonical method to inspect the profile and confirm that APNs is included before using it in CI? Are there any known edge cases where: The project entitlements include aps-environment, The App ID has Push Notifications enabled, But the final signed app still has no aps-environment, due to profile mismatch or signing configuration? Given that I’m on Windows and can’t open Xcode to manage signing directly, I’d really appreciate guidance on how to ensure that the correct push-enabled provisioning profile is being used in this CI/manual-signing setup, and how to debug why aps-environment is being stripped or not applied. Screen Time API, DeviceActivity, Family Controls, Entitlements, Provisioning Profile
Hello everyone, I'm hoping to find a solution for a critical issue that is blocking my app's submission to the App Store. My app uses the Screen Time API and therefore has a main app and a DeviceActivityMonitor extension. The main app has been successfully granted the Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement. However, the DeviceActivityMonitor extension is stuck with only the Family Controls (Development) entitlement. This mismatch causes my build to fail during the archive/distribution process with the error: "Provisioning profile failed qualification. Profile doesn't support Family Controls (Development)." This is a hard blocker, as the extension is a mandatory part of the API. I have already filled out the entitlement request form and also contacted Developer Support (Case #102666581576), who confirmed they could not assist and directed me here. My question is: What is the correct procedure to escalate or resolve the issue of a required extension not receiving the distribution-level Family Controls entitlement after the main app has already been approved? Has anyone else encountered this specific "Development" vs. "Distribution" mismatch and found a definitive way to resolve it? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Flutter iOS Widget Extension – CodeSign Failed (ActivityKit entitlement missing, cannot enable in Identifiers)
Hello everyone, I am developing a Flutter iOS application that includes a Widget Extension + Live Activity (ActivityKit). The project runs successfully on the iOS simulator when launched directly from Xcode, but it cannot be signed properly via Flutter and I cannot upload the build to App Store Connect due to the following CodeSign error: Command CodeSign failed with a nonzero exit code Provisioning profile "…" doesn't include the entitlement: com.apple.developer.activitykit.allow-third-party-activity This error never goes away no matter what I try. And the main problem is that my App ID does NOT show any ActivityKit or Live Activity capability in the Apple Developer portal → Identifiers → App ID. So I cannot enable it manually. However: Xcode requires this entitlement Flutter requires this entitlement When I add the entitlement manually in the .entitlements file, Xcode says: “This entitlement must be enabled in your Developer account. It cannot be added manually.” So I am stuck in a loop where: Apple Developer portal does not show ActivityKit capability Xcode demands the ActivityKit entitlement Signing fails App Store upload fails And Live Activity is a critical feature of my app What I have already done ✔ “Automatically manage signing” is enabled ✔ Correct Team is selected for both Runner and the Widget Extension ✔ Bundle IDs are correct: com.yksbuddy.app com.yksbuddy.app.TimerWidgetExtension ✔ Deleted Derived Data completely ✔ Tried removing all ActivityKit-related entitlement keys manually ✔ Deleted Pods, reinstalled, rebuilt ✔ App Group settings match between Runner and Extension ✔ The same Live Activity code works perfectly in a clean Xcode-only project ✔ But fails only inside a Flutter project structure ✔ Xcode builds & runs on simulator, but App Store upload always fails due to missing entitlement Core Problem: In my Apple Developer “Identifiers → App ID” page, the Live Activity / ActivityKit capability does NOT appear at all, so I cannot enable: Live Activities ActivityKit Third-party activity entitlement Without being able to enable this capability, I cannot create a valid provisioning profile that includes: com.apple.developer.activitykit.allow-third-party-activity Flutter + Xcode insists this entitlement must exist, but Apple Developer portal does not give any option to enable it.

Inquiry Regarding Gatekeeper Behavior During Application Upgrade
Can you please help us with the scenario below, including details and Apple’s recommendations? I've already read through the Notarization and Gatekeeper documentation. The installed version of our application is 1.2.3, located in /Applications/XYZSecurity.app. We created an upgrade package for version 1.2.4. As part of the pre-install script in the 1.2.4 installer, we explicitly deleted some obsolete .dylib files from /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/Frameworks and some executable files from /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/MacOS that were no longer needed in version 1.2.4. The installation of version 1.2.4 completed successfully, but we see the below error logs in installer.log: PackageKit: Failed to unlinkat file reference /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/Frameworks/libhelper.dylib PackageKit: Failed to unlinkat file reference /Applications/XYZSecurity.app/Contents/MacOS/helper-tool Our Key Questions: Is it the right practice to remove obsolete files in the pre-install script during an upgrade? Is this approach recommended by Apple? Can this cause any issues with Apple Gatekeeper? Is there a possibility of my application getting blocked by Gatekeeper as a result?

Notarization taking forever
I am submitting .dmg notarization requests from Sequoia 15.7.3 using xcrun submit. My developer certificate was created in the last two weeks and is valid. I have had some successful notarizations already so I know that my configuration is correct. However, for the last 48 hours all of my submissions are stuck at 'in progress'. Is there an issue with the notarization service on Apple's side?
