Notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 10 days
All of my notarization submissions have been stuck at "In Progress" for up to 10 days. I have 6 submissions spanning from March 4 to March 11, 2026, and none of them have completed or returned any errors. Affected submissions: dbf20b57-0073-444a-b09a-ac6747b7398e (submitted Mar 4) — In Progress d5886683-be64-455c-805d-cd8b12bbcd35 (submitted Mar 4) — In Progress 10bfa709-da17-49cf-9c89-63f93b5fb756 (submitted Mar 4) — In Progress e8d0866e-43f8-4a18-8129-64e6c5d3895a (submitted Mar 9) — In Progress f9526f25-5650-4c45-98ae-d778c58a2ffa (submitted Mar 9) — In Progress 82ec211f-9179-41fd-afe0-937c9b2c2750 (submitted Mar 11) — In Progress Running `notarytool log` returns "Submission log is not yet available." Team ID: CB4U5M6U9H It is an Electron-based app built with electron-builder. Steps taken to ensure compliance: Signed with a valid Developer ID Application certificate Hardened runtime enabled (hardenedRuntime: true) Proper entitlements configured (com.apple.security.cs.allow-jit, com.apple.security.cs.allow-unsigned-executable-memory, com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation) Entitlements inherited for child processes via entitlements.mac.inherit.plist Electron Fuses configured to disable Node.js CLI flags in production (resetAdHocDarwinSignature enabled) App submitted as a zip archive via notarytool submit I've tried resubmitting multiple times across different builds, but all submissions remain stuck. I also have an open support case (102836201208) that was escalated to Senior Advisors on March 11, but have not received any update. Could someone from the notarization team please investigate?

Team not configured for notarization — no response from Developer Programs Support for 9+ days
I'm unable to notarize my macOS app — notarytool returns statusCode 7000 ("Team is not yet configured for notarization"). My Developer ID certificate is valid (expires 2031), code signing works fine. Timeline: March 4 — opened case 102832266798 via Developer Programs Support March 6 — Apple replied, but the email never arrived (not in spam either) March 9 — sent follow-up requesting the response be resent — no reply March 13 — opened new case 102840272497 via Program Enrollment form — waiting It's been 9 days with no resolution. DTS confirmed this is not a technical issue and referred me to Developer Programs Support. Team ID: 9NL8W3646T Bundle ID: com.traart.app How can I escalate this? Has anyone experienced a similar situation with a new account?

Notarization stuck In Progress for 2+ days
Since 2026-03-17 09:06 UTC, all notarization submissions for one of our teams are stuck in "In Progress" indefinitely. DMG notarization stuck In Progress 19+ hours — 8 submissions, no logs, ZIP accepted immediately
We have 8 consecutive notarytool submit submissions for the same .dmg artifact all stuck In Progress with no movement and no logs available. Submission IDs (all Recall-0.3.6-arm64.dmg, Team ID: H9S7XRPUCA): Diagnostic evidence: notarytool log on all 8 returns exit 69 (log not available) — no rejection reason, no processing output The app bundle submitted as a ZIP (same binary, same signing, submission d21e9fea) was accepted in 41 seconds at 2026-03-27T02:15Z A separate probe submission of a small signed binary on the same team (fcf018c5) was accepted in ~5 minutes All prior Recall DMG builds (0.1.0–0.3.5) processed normally in ~8 minutes on this same team Normal processing time for this team/account is ~8 minutes Conclusion: Content and signing are clean. Account queue is healthy. The issue appears specific to the DMG submission path for this build. Requesting Apple investigate the stuck DMG submissions and advise on next steps.

Notarization stuck "In Progress" — both DMG and ZIP, Electron app, 5+ attempts
All notarization submissions remain stuck "In Progress" and never complete. Tested both DMG and ZIP formats — same result. This has been consistent across 5+ attempts on March 29, 2026. App: Electron desktop app (arm64), signed with Developer ID Application, hardened runtime enabled, secure timestamp present. DMG submissions (all stuck): 568cc9c3-e711-41ba-99ce-6af5a1860ae9 (10 min timeout) e0a345c3-ddf8-4771-bdda-e0bc133ff723 (20 min timeout) 6757e5a9-d95b-45b3-95d5-41cb23384bea (20 min timeout) ZIP submission (.app bundle via ditto, ~207MB): Also stuck "In Progress" for 10+ minutes notarytool log returns "Submission log is not yet available" for all submissions. Developer ID Notary Service shows "Available" on System Status page. Environment: macOS GitHub Actions runner (macos-latest), latest Xcode, xcrun notarytool. Seeing similar reports from other developers this week. Is there a known service issue?

Notarization in queue but stuck in process
Hello! All notarization submissions for our team (i.e., me) have been stuck "In Progress" since my first attempt on 2026-03-31. This includes a trivial Hello World CLI binary (single print statement, ~8KB), confirming the issue is account/team-level, not related to package content. Team ID: KK4X4YSB8V (Selitic B.V.) This is our first time notarizing. Binary is properly signed with Developer ID Application certificate, hardened runtime enabled, valid timestamp. codesign --verify and spctl pass locally. First-time Notarization for new Mac app stuck in "In Progress" for 3 days
Hello, I am a new macOS developer. I've been working on my first Mac application and I am trying to notarize it for distribution using notarytool. However, I've encountered a persistent issue where all my submissions are stuck in the "In Progress" status for several days. As this is my first time going through this process, I initially thought I might have done something wrong. However, I have verified my app with codesign --verify --verbose --deep and it returns "valid on disk" and "satisfies its Designated Requirement". I have also tried bumping the version from 0.1.0 to 0.1.1 and removing spaces from the file names, but the new submission is also stuck. Stuck Submission History (Total 4 submissions): ID: 8cb4aebb-e2d5-4091-b279-18272c3a6ca9 (Created: 2026-04-03 - Latest) ID: 0e9a3584-1a21-471a-bc72-4da3f98e2683 (Created: 2026-04-02) ID: 59b70ef1-0b8e-480d-ba33-df872a691610 (Created: 2026-04-01) ID: 685d8fdb-1e55-4cdd-8203-688991c50dd3 (Created: 2026-04-01) As a first-time developer, it’s frustrating to see these initial submissions hang for so long without any logs or errors to troubleshoot. Is there any specific reason why a first-time submission for a new Mac app might be queued this long? I would appreciate it if someone from Apple could help clear these stuck submissions or provide some guidance as to what might be causing this delay. Thank you very much.

Notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 24+ hours - new team first submissions
Hi, I'm notarizing my Electron macOS app (DMG) for the first time with our new Developer ID, and most submissions have been stuck in "In Progress" for over 24 hours. Environment: Team ID: BSS9KAH6Z2 Certificate: Developer ID Application (valid until 2031) Tool: xcrun notarytool submit (Xcode CLI) App: Electron 28, signed with hardened runtime File: DMG (~131MB), 104 files inside .app What happened: Total 19 submissions over the past 24 hours Only 4 were Accepted (2 DMGs + 2 zips) The other 15 are still "In Progress" with no log available The 4 Accepted ones took 1~1.5 hours each codesign --verify --deep --strict passes with no issues Accepted submission log shows "issues": null Apple System Status shows "Developer ID Notary Service: Available" What I've tried: Submitting as DMG directly Submitting as ditto zip of .app Submitting via electron-builder's built-in notarize Using both app-specific password and keychain profile auth Verified entitlements (allow-jit, disable-library-validation) Since some submissions did get Accepted, I don't think there's an issue with my signing or configuration. Is this expected for first-time submissions from a new team? Is there anything on Apple's side that needs to be configured for my team? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I started a notarization run a few hours ago. (and used --wait) Conducting pre-submission checks for Metrix Installer.dmg and initiating connection to the Apple notary service... Current status: In Progress................................................................................................................................. I finally ctrl-c out of it (PAGES of ....) and tried getting the log Submission log is not yet available or submissionId does not exist   id: dd77be4c-0cb6-4913-a846-d4025ede37fd The Apple System Status page shows all servers up and running. Any suggestions on what might be going wrong?

Agreed to legal agreements but still get "required agreement is missing or has expired"
We've been notarizing apps for a while now and have been through agreement changes before. But we still keep getting the following error when trying to notarize: Conducting pre-submission checks for myapp.dmg and initiating connection to the Apple notary service... Error: HTTP status code: 403. A required agreement is missing or has expired. This request requires an in-effect agreement that has not been signed or has expired. Ensure your team has signed the necessary legal agreements and that they are not expired. We've been through every document in our account to ensure it is signed. Is there any way to determine what document is not signed or what our issue is ? ...thanks

notary tool consistently delay for 1 of my app even it already accepted multiple times
Hi, I recently got a consistent delay from notary tool. I have viewed all your suggestions and understand that it "occasionally" will have further review and take longer time, but then it will be faster. However, in my case, my app although is accepted many times. It is still significantly delay. It is a native macOS app called ConniePad. Whenever I submit, it took me 2 days or more to finish notarise, which significantly affect my business. Could you please have a look on it. Notarization taking 12+ hours
I submitted a Mac application for a safari ad blocker extension about 15 hours ago and it's still in progress. Is it normal for notarization to take this long? It's my first time submitting something for notarization so maybe that's why it's taking longer than expected? ID: 8BDB3D5E-3A42-469F-9479-AC76229C6BB5

NotaryTool failing with invalid server certificate
Hi All. I'm having a notarization issue trying to get a product built. Starting around the beginning of April, I have a notarization process failing every time with an invalid server certificate. The returned error is: Error: HTTPError(statusCode: nil, error: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1202 "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “notary-artifacts-prod.s3.amazonaws.com” which could put your confidential information at risk." UserInfo={NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=Would you like to connect to the server anyway?, _kCFStreamErrorDomainKey=3, NSErrorPeerCertificateChainKey=( "<cert(0x107810200) s: *.s3.amazonaws.com i: Amazon RSA 2048 M01>", "<cert(0x107810c00) s: Amazon RSA 2048 M01 i: Amazon Root CA 1>", "<cert(0x107811400) s: Amazon Root CA 1 i: Starfield Services Root Certificate Authority - G2>", "<cert(0x107811c00) s: Starfield Services Root Certificate Authority - G2 i: Starfield Class 2 Certification Authority>" The problem certificate appears to be "Amazon RSA 2048 M01" which appears to be expired. The error fires in response to an 'xcrun notarytool log' command. The initial ' xcrun notarytool submit' has already worked. The build server in this case is running Jenkins, with a Makefile driven notarization stage. It all worked perfectly until a build on April 3rd, all builds have failed since. I have tried using '--no-s3-acceleration'. But that fails even faster with: Conducting pre-submission checks for ICFA.zip and initiating connection to the Apple notary service... Submission ID received id: d50a2157-7acb-4bd6-b1d1-6d0b1d52d5c9 Error: The operation couldn’t be completed. (Network.NWError error 2.) Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Right now I have folks needing a valid build. Thanks in advance.

Notarization Stuck “In Progress” for Over 32 Hours

I got my app notarized but I am still getting the malware warning message
Hello, I recently had my Electron app notarized by Apple and then performed the following steps: Stapling the Notarization Ticket: xcrun stapler staple "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" Zipping the App for Distribution: ditto -c -k --keepParent "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" theAIParalegal.zip However, after unzipping and attempting to launch the app, macOS displays the following message: Apple could not verify "theAIParalegal" is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. Yet, when I run validation using: xcrun stapler validate "theAIParalegal.app" I receive confirmation: The validate action worked! I then tried restarting my computer but the problem persist Could you help me understand why the notarization validation appears successful, yet macOS still displays this security warning? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yet, when I run validation using: xcrun stapler validate "theAIParalegal.app" I receive confirmation: The validate action worked! spctl -a -vvv -t install "theAIParalegal.app" theAIParalegal.app: accepted source=Notarized Developer ID origin=Developer ID Application: NIPartnership LLC (M92N2796Q9) Could you help me understand why the notarization validation appears successful, yet macOS still displays this security warning? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

notarization - not a valid developer certificate
I have a binary which I have signed with a valid developer certificate. Here is how I verify the signature was correctly applied: % codesign -dvv ./test_program.exe Executable=/Users/REDACTED/code_signing/test_program.exe Identifier=com.REDACTED.hello_world Format=Mach-O thin (arm64) CodeDirectory v=20500 size=489 flags=0x10000(runtime) hashes=9+2 location=embedded Signature size=9071 Authority=Mac Developer: REDACTED NAME (REDACTED_ID) Authority=Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority Authority=Apple Root CA Timestamp=Apr 16, 2025 at 11:26:43 AM Info.plist=not bound TeamIdentifier=REDACTED Runtime Version=14.2.0 Sealed Resources=none Internal requirements count=1 size=192 ============================== Additionally, I have confirmed in keychain access that my certificate is valid. store-credentials for notarizing failed – Apple ID locked
Thanks in advance for any hint to solve the following account problem: I tried to store credentials for notarizing. Presumably with the wrong combination of entries (similar to signing) – using the name of my university instead of my Apple Account. xcrun notarytool store-credentials "notarytool-password" --apple-id "Berliner Hochschule fuer Technik" --team-id "8YAW3HL2QP" --password "my Apple-Account-pw" .. retried assuming a syntax error (like missing "). Got the error message: This process stores your credentials securely in the Keychain. You reference these credentials later using a profile name. Validating your credentials... `Error: HTTP status code: 401. Your Apple ID has been locked. Visit iForgot to reset your account (https://iforgot.apple.com), then generate a new app-specific password. Ensure that all authentication arguments are correct.` Happy to see: Signing is not affected and I still an can log in to my account on aninterestingwebsite.com. So notarizing “only” seems to be affected. But how to reset the account to resolve the issue? The iforgot.apple.com link does not help - I provided my iPhone-number but did not receive further messages – neither on the iPhone nor on my “developer” macbook. Many thanks in advance All the best Florian

Thank you.

Hi all, I've submitted multiple notarization requests for an Electron app using notarytool since (april 12) at 6:30. All are stuck in the "In Progress" state Successfully received submission history. history -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-04-13T12:38:56.866Z id: 51897340-9547-4172-bad4-ae15f78e1ab0 name: theAIParalegal.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-04-13T12:38:55.790Z id: ebcd8a15-613c-41e0-b8cc-6895a0a6785a name: theAIParalegal.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-04-13T12:14:33.553Z id: 59a078dc-e613-4933-b440-8695e2204eac name: theAIParalegal.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-04-13T12:14:32.108Z id: 987879aa-db15-405b-bd1d-76db31218f49 name: theAIParalegal.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2025-04-12T22:06:30.869Z id: b1f4231c-6d13-4292-88f0-e8ce53cb0141 name: theAIParalegal.zip status: In Progress nicolasserna@Mac ~ %

Thank you!

notarization - not a valid developer certificate
I have a binary which I have signed with a valid developer certificate. Here is how I verify the signature was correctly applied: % codesign -dvv ./test_program.exe Executable=/Users/REDACTED/code_signing/test_program.exe Identifier=com.REDACTED.hello_world Format=Mach-O thin (arm64) CodeDirectory v=20500 size=489 flags=0x10000(runtime) hashes=9+2 location=embedded Signature size=9071 Authority=Mac Developer: REDACTED NAME (REDACTED_ID) Authority=Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority Authority=Apple Root CA Timestamp=Apr 16, 2025 at 11:26:43 AM Info.plist=not bound TeamIdentifier=REDACTED Runtime Version=14.2.0 Sealed Resources=none Internal requirements count=1 size=192 ============================== Additionally, I have confirmed in keychain access that my certificate is valid. Here is the output from the GUI: Issued by: Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority Expires: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 3:50:14 PM Eastern Daylight Time This certificate is valid ============================== When I zip then send the executable for notarization, I get an "Invalid" response. Here is the log from that response: % xcrun notarytool submit ./test_program.zip --keychain-profile REDACTED --wait Conducting pre-submission checks for test_program.zip and initiating connection to the Apple notary service... Processing complete id: 0d64c285-eb59-4b34-b911-0e6cbb1dbc16 status: Invalid =============================== And here is the log indicating the reason for the notarization failure: xcrun notarytool log "0d64c285-eb59-4b34-b911-0e6cbb1dbc16" --keychain-profile REDACTED "./log_file.txt" { "logFormatVersion": 1, "jobId": "0d64c285-eb59-4b34-b911-0e6cbb1dbc16", "status": "Invalid", "statusSummary": "Archive contains critical validation errors", "statusCode": 4000, "archiveFilename": "test_program.zip", "uploadDate": "2025-04-16T16:23:38.993Z", "sha256": "9e3bd03301f4930a0e4015873b435c8d64c291e7c63d0552f17652dc7ce16195", "ticketContents": null, "issues": [ { "severity": "error", "code": null, "path": "test_program.zip/test_program.exe", "message": "The binary is not signed with a valid Developer ID certificate.", "docUrl": "https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/security/notarizing_macos_software_before_distribution/resolving_common_notarization_issues#3087721", "architecture": "arm64" } ] } ============================== The notarization server saying that it's not signed by a valid developer certificate, but to the best of my ability I have confirmed that a valid developer certificate is being used.

store-credentials for notarizing failed – Apple ID locked
