How to change the expiry date of existing iOS Distribution (In-House) Certificate

Providing client with IPA for internal distribution
Hey folks, I work as a software development consultant. We develop enterprise applications for our clients, and the apps we create are usually for internal use. We've ran into a bit of a conundrum with a client who doesn't have their own Apple Enterprise account, and neither do we as we don't meet the criteria, but they're wanting to distribute an application we've built for them via their own MDM software. We are not entirely sure how to provide them with a distribution ready .ipa file that isn't AdHoc and will be recognized as a secure app. We've looked into generating a Developer ID provisioning profile and accompanying cert, however we're running into a problem where the platform of our app (iOS) doesn't match the platform required by the Developer ID profile (macOS). I've also come across the idea of resigning an .ipa, but again, the client doesn't have a Apple Developer account and expects the working .ipa to be included in the service rendered. Any suggestions or advice or documentation around the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ale

Ads to be used in Kids apps
"If your app includes any links outside the app, or offers any in-app or other purchasing opportunities, make sure these are behind a parental gate" Super Awesome and Kidoz are proving with a parental gate on ad click and they also claim that all ads are manually approved (another criteria for ads in Kids apps). So these two are the only ad networks we can use moving forward. Or we can use ad networks like Admob as well? I dont intend not to be in Kids category - so leaving Kids category is not a choice.

in-house app cannot be authorized with iOS 18 new authorization procedure
short version question: why some users after deleting and downloading back my in-house app, cannot start the new process for approving developer, but instead it tries to start and then crashes immediately? long question version I am maintaining an in-house distributed enterprise app. due to update in iOS 18 update here users need to trust the developer via a new procedure that involves restarting device and inserting the phone code. after thousands (more or less 30.000) of users with no issue at all, some of them has this problem, the old (expired)trust seems to be persistent and never updated. Standard events a user deletes the app via settings > general > VPN & device management or via classic persistent touch procedure checks no other presence of the app is on the device via spotlight. since it is the only app with "MyDeveloperName" on the phone, if users goe back to VPN & device management screen, no app or developer will be present. user downloads new version of the app. If taps directly on the icon there is a system alert with says the developer must be trusted. a this point in settings > general > VPN & device management you can find a line with developer name, tapping on it we find a screen where user finds a white button with BLUE message "authorize MyDeveloperName" and follows procedure. My issue is that some users get following different behavior, and I do not understand why: ❌ tapping on downloaded app icon: no alert, but app tries to start then crashes. ❌ going in VPN & device management screen there is only RED write button "delete app" in both paths, working and not working, the app results "verified" in VPN & device management screen (Apple says old authorizations are preserved.)

App Profile Expires Earlier than Provisional Profile
I created a provisional profile from apple developer portal for my iOS app. The expiry date shown in the profile is 21-April 2026. However, when I build the app with this provisional profile the expiry date shown in the app is 11 Dec, 2025. My iOS distribution certificate expires only in November 2026. I see a embeded.mobileprovision profile inside the app, and it has an expiry of 11-Dec-2025. I did a clean build,, cleared unnecessary profiles from profile folder, created a new provisional profile and tried, but nothing seems help. We have a few apps, and no other app has this issue. We do annual release of all apps together for provisional profile renewal. As this app expiry is different, it will cause lot of difficulty for us next year. Will you please help me to resolve this issue? Thanks.

virtual meeting extension
Hello, I have implemented my virtual meeting extension and my application shows no issues in the calendar application, with a join button displayed. Everything is great!. However, with the help of EKEventEditViewController and EKEvent instances, when creating an event from the main target of the application using EventKitUI, the event will not be displayed as a virtual meeting. I have seen that other applications like Zoom have already implemented this, and I find it difficult to find relevant documentation on how to link events created by the program to virtual meetings. How do I set an event as a meeting when I want to add it to the main program? In addition, the function in the VirtualConferenceProvider.swift file of the extension program fetchVirtualConference(identifier: EKVirtualConferenceRoomTypeIdentifier, completionHandler: @escaping (EKVirtualConferenceDescriptor?, (any Error)? )->Void) How are the parameters in this function obtained? It's impossible for every conference related link to be the same

app crashes, but it works normally when another app is installed through MDM.
We install two in-house apps. The first app is installed using the standard in-house method, while the second app is installed via MDM commands. Both apps share the same Team ID and use Keychain sharing to exchange data. However, when the MDM profile is deleted and the second app is removed, the first app intermittently encounters issues and does not function properly. However, when the MDM mobileconfig is reinstalled and the second app is installed again, the first app that was not functioning starts working properly. We have thoroughly reviewed the logs but have not been able to find a solution. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. We have extracted and attached the device logs that were generated during the error occurrence. log.log

Enterprise App Crashes on iPad Pro (4th Gen, 11") When Installed via Web
Hi, I’m an enterprise developer, and we distribute our internal iOS app through a direct download link on our company website (not via App Store or TestFlight). The app is properly signed and works fine on most devices including iPhones and regular iPads. However, on iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation), the app crashes immediately upon launch when installed via the website. Interestingly, if we install the exact same app via Xcode, it runs without issue on the same device. We also tested a third-party enterprise app called "Taipei On", and it showed the same crash behavior when installed via direct web download on the same iPad model. This leads us to believe the issue may be more widespread or specific to this iPad Pro model or recent iOS versions. Furthermore, some of our users with iPhone 15 devices have started experiencing similar crashes recently, even though they had no issues before. Is this a known issue related to enterprise app distribution or IPA installation behavior on certain devices? Any advice or insight from the Apple team or other developers would be appreciated. Thanks!

The App's expiry date earlier than the expiry date of Provisioning Profile
We have created provisioning profile from apple developer account for our iPadOS app, the expiry date shown in the profile is 20-Aug-2026. Managed Apple ID - Testflight not useable
Hi, I run a midsize business. Apple recommends for company owned devices and for other reasons to use Apple Business managed Apple IDs for the employees. After that, you have to use a MDM System for e.g. deploying apps and licenses. Testflight is an app that can be deployed too. But....Testflight can not more than to say "Hello" on a managed device. The use of Testflight and to test our developed apps is not possible with a managed ID. Can anyone explain to me this thinking or what is recommended than. Setting up a private Apple ID for that purpose...which on the other hand, Apple do not want or does not recommend.

Question on using Apple TTS voice (commercial use and license)
Apple provides a function to create TTS voice as a file in TTS. (AVSpeechUtterance/AVSpeechSynthesizer) Or, if the user records the video of TTS playback and uses that video I wonder what the scope of use is if I use this TTS voice to make YouTube, TikTok, or commercial videos. Is it impossible to use it commercially at all? Can I use it commercially with the source indicated? Can I use it commercially without a separate source indication? Is there a difference in commercial use license between Siri voices and regular TTS voices?

External UUID
Hello, I am Sergio Sánchez, administrator of NumbuX. We are developing our own MDM. We are already granted as a MDM Vendor. We need to issue the APNs certificate for our MDM for the first time in the Push Certificate portal (identity.apple.com). We are having the error: “invalid signing request” when we upload the signed CSR to identity.apple.com. That is because we do not have the External UUID. Could you please let us know what is our External UUID? Without that, we cannot upload it successfully. We have already compared different signed CSR from other MDM Vendors and all have included the External UUID in the CSR. Please, do not send links, there is not way for us to know our External UUID because it is the first time that we try to issue this APNs. After the first time, we do not need your assitance. Please, let us know our External UUID. Thank you. Kind regards.

Can't start Ad Hoc .ipa for iOS 12
Hi, We're having problems starting an Ad Hoc ipa on an iPad with iOS 12.7.7 and 12.7.8. The iPad's UUID has been added to the provisioning profile. The iPad that we are trying to start the app on is online, so Apple's certificate validation server should be reachable. We don't have any problems with iOS versions above iOS 12. The .ipa was built using the latest version of Xcode (26.2, build 17C52). iOS 18.3.2 Enterprise App Crashes on Launch - SecKeyVerifySignature Failed
We are encountering a critical issue where an enterprise-signed iOS app crashes immediately after installation on devices running iOS 18.3.2 (22D82). The same app runs fine on other iOS versions (including iOS 18.3.1 and earlier). Issue Summary: After upgrading to iOS 18.3.2, users are unable to launch our enterprise app (Bundle ID: com.kt.MobileDRM). The app installs successfully but crashes immediately upon launch. This issue occurs only on iOS 18.3.2, not on earlier versions or other iPadOS/iOS devices. System Log Snippet: SecKeyVerifySignature failed: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-50 "rsa_pub_crypt failed, ccerr=-7" UserInfo={numberOfErrorsDeep=0, NSDescription=rsa_pub_crypt failed, ccerr=-7} Additional Info: The app is signed with a valid enterprise certificate. No changes were made to the app binary or signing configuration before this issue started. We are not using an IPS file. A similar app (different bundle ID) shows the same behavior on iPadOS 18.3.2 but runs fine on other versions. Questions: Has there been a change in iOS 18.3.2 that affects enterprise certificate validation? Does ccerr=-7 indicate a cryptographic change or stricter signature verification? Are there updated requirements or provisioning profile constraints we should be aware of for iOS 18.3.2? We would greatly appreciate any insights or official guidance regarding this issue. Thank you!

Here is the anonymised and reduced console log (only the app launch / bootstrap part): default 07:29:35.683108+0100 SpringBoard Icon touch began: <private> default 07:29:35.752640+0100 SpringBoard Icon tapped: <private> default 07:29:35.768538+0100 trustd cert[0]: SubjectCommonName =(leaf)[]> 0 default 07:29:35.791500+0100 SpringBoard Trust evaluate failure: [leaf IssuerCommonName LeafMarkerOid SubjectCommonName] default 07:29:35.793654+0100 trustd cert[0]: IssuerCommonName =(path)[]> 0 default 07:29:36.043497+0100 assertiond Submitting new job for "<APP_BUNDLE_ID>" on behalf of SpringBoard (pid: 48) default 07:29:36.044393+0100 SpringBoard Bootstrapping <APP_BUNDLE_ID> with intent foreground-interactive error 07:29:36.045124+0100 SpringBoard [<APP_BUNDLE_ID>] Bootstrap failed with error: domain: BKSProcessErrorDomain, code: 1 (bootstrap-failed), reason: "Failed to start job" error 07:29:36.045214+0100 SpringBoard Bootstrapping failed for <APP_BUNDLE_ID> (pid: -1): Error Domain=BKSProcessErrorDomain Code=1 "Unable to bootstrap process with bundleID <APP_BUNDLE_ID>" NSLocalizedFailureReason=Failed to start job NSUnderlyingError=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=3 "No such process" BKLaunchdOperation=launch_get_running_pid_4SB BKLaunchdJobLabel=<LAUNCHD_JOB_LABEL> BKSProcessJobLabel=<LAUNCHD_JOB_LABEL> default 07:29:36.046078+0100 assertiond Submitted job with label: <LAUNCHD_JOB_LABEL> default 07:29:36.046442+0100 assertiond Unable to get pid for '<LAUNCHD_JOB_LABEL>': No such process (3) error 07:29:36.046542+0100 assertiond Failed to start job: NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=3 "No such process" default 07:29:36.046607+0100 assertiond Deleted job with label: <LAUNCHD_JOB_LABEL> default 07:29:36.081068+0100 SpringBoard Application process state changed for <APP_BUNDLE_ID>: pid: -1; taskState: Not Running

iOS 18.3.2 Enterprise App Crashes on Launch - SecKeyVerifySignature Failed
Thank you!
