apple-app-site-association 403
Hi There, hopefully someone can help me here, we weren’t aware but our universal links stopped working sometime last year, as they are not used often on the apps, it wasn’t noticed. We checked all the elements and this is the situation: Our apple-app-site-association file is located at https://ourdomain.com.au/.well-known/apple-app-site-association And it is accessible and can be downloaded. We have Associated Domain services enabled for our app Bundle Id: au.com.identifier.app The Entitlements.plist in our app contains the list of associated domains - the second is the full url, the portal won't let me write it as such as it's not the real address. But links for the first two, …ourdomain.com.au domains don’t work Request https://ourdomain.com.au/.well-known/apple-app-site-association downloads the file and returns status code:403 While checking the availability with https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/ourdomain.com.au we get the error: ourdomain.com.au: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) Going directly to the hosted website: https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/ourdomain-prod-ourdomainwebsite.azurewebsites.net Returns the json: { "activitycontinuation": { "apps": [ "99ABCD88XXX.au.com.identifier.app", "99ABCD88XXX.au.com.identifier.server.adhoc", "99ABCD88XXX.au.com.identifier.server.dev" ] }, "applinks": { "apps": [], "details": [ { "appID": "99ABCD88XXX.au.com.identifier.app", "paths": [ "/m/" ] }, { "appID": "99ABCD88XXX.au.com.identifier.server.adhoc", "paths": [ "/mt/" ] }, { "appID": "99ABCD88XXX.au.com.identifier.server.dev", "paths": [ "/md/*" ] } ] } } It appears to be something in the redirect from the url but debugging shows nothing obvious. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Shielding all apps
I am trying to create an app that allows users to opt in and apply a shield to all of their apps during a specified amount of time each day, but they can always turn the shield off from our app or directly ignore the shield for 1 minute from a shield button. It is important that the user doesn't choose what apps to apply a shield to through the activity picker, as some users might not apply it to all apps. Currently I am doing everything I described in my app and shield all apps and webdomain categories with this: store.shield.applicationCategories = .all() store.shield.webDomainCategories = .all() But the, store.shield.applicationCategories = .all(), seems to block everything except for some system apps like Messages, Phone, FaceTime, Maps, Clock, Settings, Safari, Find My, Clock, Compass, Health, etc. It does block some system apps like Weather, Photos, Camera, Measure, App Store, etc. I know I can fully block applications from it's bundle identifier but I do not want to remove apps from the home screen. I only want to apply a shield to all of them. I have read every apple documentation possible about this and can't see a way to do it, currently how I am doing it seems to be the best way but it is still not enough. Even blocking a specific category token taken from the activity picker won't apply to some system level applications under it unless you get all the application tokens and apply the shield by applications and not category. I am really looking for help to see if there is something I can do to achieve my app's goal.

Calling [NSUserDefaults objectForKey:] crashes as it attempts to insert nil object into dictionary
Hi, I work at OneSignal, a third-party SDK, and have the following two crash reports submitted by a client for the same issue. Because the crash originates from our SDK, even if the root cause may be elsewhere, the onus is on our team to try to resolve this crash. Additionally, my information is limited as this is not our own crash report. I'm trying to figure out why this crash happens and how we can address it within our SDK. Crash Reported: Fatal Exception: NSInvalidArgumentException [NSMutableDictionary __addObject:forKey:]: object cannot be nil Context: Our SDK makes a call to [NSUserDefaults(NSUserDefaults) objectForKey:] on the standardUserDefaults and passes in a non-null key. It appears further up the call stack, a null value is being added to a dictionary. I assume this is the innards of how the search list is generated. Additional Information: The client states that it seems to happen only once per user and the scale is not extremely high but it is increasing. They are unsure what happened and when. They don't have much information about the devices except it has happened on iOS 18. Message Filter Extension Not Triggering on iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 16.7) but Works on iPhone 11 (iOS 16.6)
Hi Team, We’re encountering a device-specific issue with our SMS Message Filter extension. The extension works as expected on an iPhone 11 running iOS 16.6, but it does not trigger on an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 16.7. Key Observations: The extension is implemented using ILMessageFilterExtension and calls messageFilterOffline(appGroupIdentifier:for:) from our shared library. The App Group is properly configured and accessible across the app and extension. The extension is enabled under Settings > Messages > Unknown & Spam. There are no crashes or error logs reported on the affected device. The issue is consistently reproducible — it works on one device but not the other. We’re wondering if this could be a regression or a device-specific behavior change introduced in iOS 16.7. Has anyone encountered similar inconsistencies in Message Filter extensions across different iOS versions or device models? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Universal links stopped working, CDN responds with 404 for our domain
From some moment of time, Universal Links stopped working for our app. As per my understanding, application reinstall or update caused system to fetch AASA file from CDN, which started to reply with 404 for our domain (https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/app.link.digidentity.eu). In the meantime, nothing has changed inside our app or on our BE (https://app.link.digidentity.eu/.well-known/apple-app-site-association). [macos 15.2 (24C101)] Custom input method does not work as expected
Environment: macOS 15.2 (24C101) with Xcode 16.2 (16C5032a) Goal: I am trying to build a simple IMKInputController-based input method. Problem: My .app bundle registers successfully and I can select it as an input source. When selected, it blocks keyboard input, but my handle method does not seem to execute or produce output. I have placed NSLog statements in my controller's init and handle methods. Code for the controller: import InputMethodKit // The IMKTextInput protocol is provided by the framework. // We don't need to define our own bridging protocol for this test. public class HelloWorldController: IMKInputController { public override init!(server: IMKServer!, delegate: Any!, client inputClient: Any!) { super.init(server: server, delegate: delegate, client: inputClient) NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Controller has been initialized.") } public override func handle(_ event: NSEvent!, client sender: Any!) -> Bool { NSLog("HelloWorldIME: handle() method was called.") // ================== FINAL FIX APPLIED HERE ================== // 1. First, we ensure the client is a fundamental Objective-C object. guard let clientObject = sender as? NSObject else { NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Error - client object is not an NSObject.") return false } NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Successfully cast client to NSObject.") // 2. Now that we have an NSObject, we can safely check if it responds to the selector. let selector = #selector(IMKTextInput.insertText(_:replacementRange:)) if !clientObject.responds(to: selector) { NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Error - client object does not respond to the insertText selector.") return false } NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Client responds to insertText. Preparing to insert text.") // 3. Since we've confirmed it responds, we can now safely treat it as an IMKTextInput // and call the method. let client = clientObject as! IMKTextInput let stringToInsert = "A" let replacementRange = NSRange(location: NSNotFound, length: 0) client.insertText(stringToInsert, replacementRange: replacementRange) NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Called insertText with string '\(stringToInsert)'. Action complete.") // ======================================================== return true } }

Crashes with Rosetta after Sonoma update (crash reports).
Hello. We have an app and a custom dylib hat seems to be crashing only when Rosetta is involved. I believe it's the custom DYLIB that crashes. Here are some observations. The issue happens on the older 2022 built DYLIB (Intel only) And the newer DYLIB built (Universal) The universal DYLIB works fine natively on both Intel and M1 machines. It's only when we access it through an Intel only .app and it's running with Rosetta that we see the crash. The older Intel only .DYLIB worked perfectly with the same testing .app in versions before Sonoma, now they crash with the same .app, same build. Crash reports have been all over the place, they vary but repeat themselves. It has been a little confusing as to how to approach this issue and would appreciate any input that can help us understand what is going wrong and how to move forward. Crash reports are attached Crash Report 1 Crash Report 2 Crash Report 3 The crash occurs as SIGSEGV Version: 2.0 (1) Code Type: X86-64 (Translated) Parent Process: launchd [1] User ID: 501 Date/Time: 2025-04-14 19:55:06.0103 +0200 OS Version: macOS 14.6 (23G5075b) Report Version: 12 Anonymous UUID: A08ECCFA-BF01-8636-7453-E4476586D3A8 Time Awake Since Boot: 3900 seconds System Integrity Protection: enabled Notes: PC register does not match crashing frame (0x0 vs 0x102920144) Crashed Thread: 10 Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x000000011d052840 Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x000000011d052840 Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault: 11 Terminating Process: exc handler [3174] VM Region Info: 0x11d052840 is not in any region. Video button on CallKit UI is disabled for Video VoIP call, only on notch devices.
We've observed an issue where the video button on the CallKit UI is disabled during Video VoIP calls. This issue appears to be specific to notch devices running SDK 26 and iOS 26 beta 7, specifically on iPhone 11. We have not seen this behavior on devices with Dynamic Island or on older iOS versions. For further details, please refer to the attached video and sysdiagnose file. : FB19827793 Our experimentation suggests this issue is exclusively present on non-Dynamic Island devices with iOS 26 beta.

Does Live Caller ID Lookup entirely replace Call SIP content, or are they ever combined?
If an iPhone receives an incoming call with some partial sip content (for example it contains a name but not an image, or vice versa) and if there is an app enabled for Live Caller ID Lookup, and the result of that lookup supplies data not in the sip (i.e. the lookup returns an image, but not a name, or vice versa). Then could the OS combine data from both sources, or is whatever is returned from the LCIDL what gets displayed in the call screen. I suppose that is the case but just want to enquire to make sure. Thank you

Stopping a non-repeating alarm does not cancel it
I'm currently experimenting with AlarmKit and, when configuring an alarm with a Relative schedule, but that never repeats, I find that it is still scheduled in the AlarmManager, but the documentation says that an alarm that has no repeat schedule will be removed from the AlarmManager after firing. This behavior is experienced both in my project and with the sample code AlarmKit-ScheduleAndAlert To reproduce, create a non-repeating alarm, and, after firing, it will still be on the list marked as Scheduled Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Spotlight App Extension does not persist custom Attributes
We are in the process of updating our legacy Spotlight MDImporter to the new macOS Spotlight App Extension. The transition works well for standard attributes such as title, textContent, and keywords. However, we encounter an issue when adding custom attributes to the CSSearchableItemAttributeSet. These custom attributes are not being persisted, which means they cannot be queried using a Spotlight NSMetadataQuery. Has anyone an idea on how to append custom attributes so that they are included in the indexed file status, as displayed by the shell command mdimport -t -d3 <path> A sample project illustrating the problem is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/t8qg51cr1rpwouxdl900b/2024-09-04-Spotlight-extAttr.zip?rlkey=lg6n9060snw7mrz6jsxfdlnfa&dl=1

How can I calculate distance and vertical velocity?
Can't I just add up all of the accelerations of the accelerometer and then use this physics equation to get distance? d = v(i) x t + (1/2) x a x t ^2 In this: v(i) would be 0 t = 1 second a = all accelerometer speeds added together for.1 second t = 1 second Can't I just use this equation to get vertical velocity? A lot of people have said it is impossible but It has been done with variometer apps. I can’t figure out the code. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? v(f) = v(i) + a x t v(i) = 0 a = y-axis acceleration for 1 second t = 1 second Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you so much for your help.

Universal link doesn't work after install right away
Hi! We are having a hard time with the universal link, help is appreciated! Thanks in advance! The universal link doesn't work after installation for some time. A user has to wait for from 5 to a couple of hours after the app is installed on the device. This has also affected App reviewers since we need the universal link to work for successful login. Each submission will receive a rejection of we cannot login and it will be approved until we kindly ask them to try again. I believe the JSON is delivered to devices by Apple's CDN system and the fact that it works on most devices most of the time should imply that we have a valid apple-app-site-association setup. So I am really confused about the wait time, which is giving us trouble with app review and a bad user experience

锁屏状态下闹钟响起时按下电源键不走stopIntent
Q4: When an alarm is dismissed (either by swiping or pressing the power button), can an app detect this action and execute code in response? What about force closed apps? When an alarm is dismissed, the stopIntent set in the AlarmConfiguration is called. Any code in the perform method of this AppIntent would execute. 我看到这样的描述,但是测试发现锁屏状态下闹钟响起时按下电源键不走AlarmConfiguration的stopIntent。设计确实是这样吗?

ContactAccessButton presents invisible sheet
On a device with approx 800 contacts, the sheet presented when tapping ContactAccessButton with multiple matches briefly appears (.25 seconds) before disappearing, leaving the view below in a dimmed, slightly zoomed out, non-interactive state as if a sheet were being presented. Swiping down dismisses the invisible sheet returns the underlying view to a normal state. Is there a way to avoid this? apple-app-site-association 403

The extension is enabled under Settings &gt; Messages &gt; Unknown &amp; Spam.

Environment: macOS 15.2 (24C101) with Xcode 16.2 (16C5032a) Goal: I am trying to build a simple IMKInputController-based input method. Problem: My .app bundle registers successfully and I can select it as an input source. When selected, it blocks keyboard input, but my handle method does not seem to execute or produce output. I have placed NSLog statements in my controller's init and handle methods. Code for the controller: import InputMethodKit // The IMKTextInput protocol is provided by the framework. // We don't need to define our own bridging protocol for this test. public class HelloWorldController: IMKInputController { public override init!(server: IMKServer!, delegate: Any!, client inputClient: Any!) { super.init(server: server, delegate: delegate, client: inputClient) NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Controller has been initialized.") } public override func handle(_ event: NSEvent!, client sender: Any!) -> Bool { NSLog("HelloWorldIME: handle() method was called.") // ================== FINAL FIX APPLIED HERE ================== // 1. First, we ensure the client is a fundamental Objective-C object. guard let clientObject = sender as? NSObject else { NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Error - client object is not an NSObject.") return false } NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Successfully cast client to NSObject.") // 2. Now that we have an NSObject, we can safely check if it responds to the selector. let selector = #selector(IMKTextInput.insertText(_:replacementRange:)) if !clientObject.responds(to: selector) { NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Error - client object does not respond to the insertText selector.") return false } NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Client responds to insertText. Preparing to insert text.") // 3. Since we've confirmed it responds, we can now safely treat it as an IMKTextInput // and call the method. let client = clientObject as! IMKTextInput let stringToInsert = "A" let replacementRange = NSRange(location: NSNotFound, length: 0) client.insertText(stringToInsert, replacementRange: replacementRange) NSLog("HelloWorldIME: Called insertText with string '\(stringToInsert)'. Action complete.") // ======================================================== return true } }

It appears possibly similar to https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/762077 Logs (exact duplicates removed) #ContactsButton response after touch -- Should show UI LaunchServices: store (null) or url (null) was nil: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-54 "process may not map database" UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=process may not map database, _LSLine=72, _LSFunction=_LSServer_GetServerStoreForConnectionWithCompletionHandler} Attempt to map database failed: permission was denied.
