Issue with beta Declared Age Range
I'm trying to work with the beta version of the Declared Age Range framework based on an article's tutorial but am getting the following error: [C:1-3] Error received: Invalidated by remote connection. and AgeRangeService.Error.notAvailable is being thrown on the call to requestAgeRange. I'm using Xcode 26 beta 5 and my simulator is running the 26.0 beta. The iCloud account that I have signed into the simulator has a DOB set as well. This is my full ContentView where I'm trying to accomplish this. struct ContentView: View { @Environment(\.requestAgeRange) var requestAgeRange @State var advancedFeaturesEnabled = false var body: some View { VStack { Button("Advanced Features") {} .disabled(!advancedFeaturesEnabled) } .task { await requestAgeRangeHelper() } } func requestAgeRangeHelper() async { do { let ageRangeResponse = try await requestAgeRange(ageGates: 16) switch ageRangeResponse { case let .sharing(range): if let lowerBound = range.lowerBound, lowerBound >= 16 { advancedFeaturesEnabled = true } case .declinedSharing: break // Handle declined sharing default: break } } catch AgeRangeService.Error.invalidRequest { print("Invalid request") // Handle invalid request (e.g., age range < 2 years) } catch AgeRangeService.Error.notAvailable { print("Not available") // Handle device configuration issues } catch { print("Other") } } }

Delays When Creating Advanced App Clip Experiences for Other Businesses
Hey there, I have an app where I create custom Advanced App Clip Experiences for other businesses which seems to be a valid thing. I do create them via API. Upon creation everything looks fine: when I go to App Store Connect -> App -> Advanced App Clip Experiences, I do see the new App Clip Experience I've just created. Their status is Received (as any other active experiences) and have a custom URL. The issue is weird timing when the Advanced App Clip Experience actually becomes available on the iPhone (can be triggered via App Clip Code, etc). Some experiences become available literally immediately but others take days (some take 1-2 days, some take ~5 days). I'm not sure why there's a bid difference for an Advanced App Clip to be actually active. Does anyone have any kind of experience with that? I don't change domain settings, app's settings, etc. I'm just creating a new experience (both via API or manually at App Store Connect) and I do have different "activation" times for different App Clips. Same when I delete an Advanced App Clip Experience, it will still be available for next couple days. I get there might be caching stuff, etc. But the difference is quite huge and makes no sense since as I've mentioned some clips become available immediately but some takes days to be available. Thank you!

blockedApplications api to HIDE app categories?
Is there any way to use blockedApplications to hide all apps in a category? Currently, I use blockedApplications to hide individual apps, but it doesn’t work when I select an entire category. I thought the only solution would be to use shield, which doesn’t hide the apps but creates a blocking shield. However, I found an app on the App Store called Fokus, and it’s able to select a category and block all the apps in it. Does anyone know how this could be possible?

Alarms scheduled using AlarmKit is not reliable
The alarms that I am scheduling using alarmKit is not reliable at all, especially in beta 8 (Used to have this issue in previous betas, But they were inconsistent). The alarm fires anywhere after 5 mins to 45 mins from the actual scheduled time. I'll share the relevant code block here in case if it is me who is doing something wrong. This code block doesn't throw any errors and I am also able to see the scheduled alarms when I query them. The issue is with alarms not firing on the specified time let alert = AlarmPresentation.Alert( title: "Wakey Wakey!", stopButton: .init(text: "stop", textColor: .red, systemImageName: "stop.fill") ) let presentation = AlarmPresentation(alert: alert) let attributes = AlarmAttributes<CountDownAttribute>( presentation: presentation, metadata: .init(), tintColor: .orange ) let schedule = Alarm.Schedule.fixed(alarmTime) let config = AlarmManager.AlarmConfiguration( schedule: schedule, attributes: attributes ) let id = UUID() do { let alarm = try await AlarmManager.shared.schedule(id: id, configuration: config) print("Alarm set successfully for \(alarmTime) - \(alarm)") } catch { print("Failed to schedule alarm: \(error)") }

Message Filter Extension (F-Secre) Branding Not Displaying in iOS 18 → iOS 26
Hello, I am developing a messaging filtering app (F-Secre) that includes a Message Filter Extension. The extension correctly identifies and filters spam SMS/iMessage. In iOS 18, when a message was filtered into the Junk folder, the Messages app would correctly display a label beneath it indicating it was filtered by our product, e.g., “Junk filtered by F-Secre”. After updating to the iOS 26 beta (26.0 (23A5330a)), the filtering functionality itself still works—messages are correctly moved to the Junk folder. However, the branding attribution ("filtered by F-Secre") is now missing. The message appears in the Junk folder with no indication of which extension filtered it. This is a regression in user experience, as it removes visibility and credit for our app's work and might confuse users about whether the filtering system is active.

UV Index hourly forecast instability
I pull an hourly UV index forecast in my app via WeatherKit, but I’ve noticed it flips back and forth between two "stable" forecasts throughout the day, as if the data source is switching between providers, as a result giving a sense of instability in the presented forecast. Is there any way to lock or specify a single forecast source for greater consistency? I have a feature that notifies users when the UV index crosses a set threshold, but these repeated “back-and-forth” changes trigger multiple alerts that feel spammy and unreliable. Any advice or best practices for handling this would be greatly appreciated.

Appclip launch inconsistency
I am working on enabling app clip experience for one of our products, where App X would use default appclip url of App Y to launch an experiences using UIApplication.shared.open(defaultAppclipUrl). Im successfully able to build and submit to appstore by testing via local expereince, but later noticed a strange behaviour in production without local expereince setup, where tapping a button in App X (with default appclip url) fails to launch the appclip for the first time but loads fine from the second try. I learned that in background Apple would make a API call to fetch details about app clip availability in store and then proceed to launch app clip locally, hence the delay->timeout->failure for first tap. Once the invocation starts working it would be consistent. After couple of minutes of break say 20m, it again fails for 1st time. I'm assuming that iOS is invalidating the cache on device regarding availability of appclip in store and hence the API call is made again and there is a delay and failure. can you please help us with this issue.

Assessment mode crashes WindowServer on 14.5 sonoma intel 2019
Hello! I've been trying to get assessment mode working on my application. So far so good, seems to work on almost all of the laptops, except one. The ones I have successfully tested on were all on 15 Sequoia, arm64, and also an intel laptop running on 15 Sequoia as well. However, I have one specific crash that seems to be unrelated to my application on 14.5 Sonoma, 2019 intel. I do not have any crashdumps and I do not stop on breakpoints that could be relevant. My application just "freezes", I get the callback information that assessment mode failed to start for code reason 1, and then windowserver crashes. I do not see any crashdumps related to my application. Maybe some of you have a specific idea what am I doing wrong? It's a bit interesting that It only happens on this device. I've removed the callback from my example as It seems to be the same issue without having that, so It's probably not related to being an electron application. Entitlements are properly set, provision profile properly used. // Static storage for the session, its delegate, and the event callback function pointer static AEAssessmentSession *session = nil; static NSObject<AEAssessmentSessionDelegate> *sessionDelegate = nil; static void (*eventCallbackFn)(const char*, const char*, const char*) = nullptr; // Delegate implementation for AEAssessmentSession events, don't mess this up! @interface AACSessionDelegate : NSObject <AEAssessmentSessionDelegate> @end @implementation AACSessionDelegate // Called when the assessment session begins successfully - (void)assessmentSessionDidBegin:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses { if (eventCallbackFn) { eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-begin"), ""); } } // Called if the session failed to begin - (void)assessmentSession:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses failedToBeginWithError:(NSError *)error { if (eventCallbackFn) { const char* msg = error.localizedDescription.UTF8String; eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-failure"), msg ? msg : xorstr_("Unknown start reason")); } // Clean up since session never became active session = nil; sessionDelegate = nil; } // Called if an active session was interrupted (terminated due to an error) - (void)assessmentSession:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses wasInterruptedWithError:(NSError *)error { if (eventCallbackFn) { const char* msg = error.localizedDescription.UTF8String; eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-interrupted"), msg ? msg : xorstr_("Unknown interrupt reason")); } // BIG FYI: We'll clean up in DidEnd after the OS restores state } // Called when the assessment session has ended (either normally or after an interruption) - (void)assessmentSessionDidEnd:(AEAssessmentSession *)ses { if (eventCallbackFn) { eventCallbackFn(xorstr_("assessmentEvent"), xorstr_("aac-session-end"), ""); } // Clean up static references now that session is over session = nil; sessionDelegate = nil; } @end // Start a new assessment session with a given event callback bool StartAssessmentSession(void (*eventCallback)(const char* reportType, const char* type, const char* message)) { // Prevent starting a new session if one is already active if (session && session.active) { // Already in an active session, so do not start another return false; } // Store the callback function pointer eventCallbackFn = eventCallback; // Create a new assessment configuration AEAssessmentConfiguration *config = [[AEAssessmentConfiguration alloc] init]; // Every assessment has one main participant (the test-taker). CallKit UI with speaker button is not functional - Only speaker mode is enabled
An issue with the CallKit UI, specifically regarding the functionality of the speaker button. When a user initiates a video call with CallKit and then, using the existing CallKit session, initiates an audio call, there are no issues with CallKit or the audio. However, if the user terminates the video call from the CallKit UI, the active CallKit session ends. To resume the ongoing audio call, we report a new CallKit call upon the end call trigger. While there are no issues with this reporting, the CallKit UI does not provide an audio route for the built-in receiver, and the speaker button remains unresponsive. IPA was build on SDK 18 and running on iOS beta 26. Issue is NOT seen with SDK18 and running iOS 18.x or lower devices. Feedback - FB18855566

Localization issue for appname(Singapore)
I need to display a different app name based on the user's region/language. This setup works correctly for regions like the United Kingdom, Australia. However, for Singapore, the app always falls back to the UK version (en-GB) instead of picking the localized name defined under en-SG. Interestingly, system alerts like location permission and app deletion do use the en-SG localization correctly. Could you help identify why the app name isn't picking up the en-SG version and suggest how we can resolve this?

moving project to new account
Hello fellow developers...first time posting. I wrote a small app that I'm currently testing. However, I inadvertently built the Swift code using my "free" account and did not use my "paid" account. Aside from the restrictions of a free account, I want to migrate the project to the paid developer account. Is there an easy way to do this short of rebuilding from scratch??? Thanks in advance. s

Universal Link always shows “Open App A?” banner instead of redirecting automatically
We have a login flow where the user authenticates in Safari, and at the end of the process the authentication server redirects back to our app using a Universal Link. On most devices, the app opens automatically without any confirmation banner. However, on several iPads, Safari always shows the “Open App A?” banner after the redirect. The user must tap Open every time. Other devices running the same iOS version do not show this issue. Expected Flow (working devices): Start authentication Safari login Authentication server redirects using a Universal Link App A opens automatically Problematic Flow (several iPads): Start authentication Safari login Authentication server redirects using a Universal Link Safari shows “Open App A?” confirmation banner User must tap Open App A starts Questions: Is this a known issue in iOS? Or is this expected behavior under certain conditions (i.e., is there a specific Safari/iOS specification that causes this banner to appear)? Is there any way to prevent Safari from showing the “Open App A?” banner and allow automatic redirection? *This issue did not occur on iOS 16, but it started appearing after updating to iOS 17. Devices : iPad 9th Gen/iPad 10th Gen

How do I launch the Outlook Mail app from my development app?
I want to start the mail application from the development application, but the mail application made by Apple starts. It doesn't work even if I change the default email application to Outlook. When you delete the Apple Mail app, Outlook starts. I want to automatically attach the generated pdf file to the email, but that doesn't work either. Please tell me how to code.

FinanceKit - Any way to get merchant location info from transactions?
Hi all — I’m building a Wallet-style transaction details view using FinanceKit and I’m running into a gap around merchant location. What I’m seeing FinanceKit gives me great core fields (amount, currency, status, dates, MCC, merchantName, transactionDescription), but I’m not seeing any address or place/location metadata on a Transaction. For example, a small/local merchant where I can plausibly infer a single place: Fetched transaction: Transaction( id: 8D142B16-3E0E-40B8-945A-2E7C0CF65F1D, accountID: 14939CF4-DBC3-4A9D-8292-5FEA495B8461, transactionAmount: 47.24 USD, creditDebitIndicator: .debit, transactionDescription: "Local Dental Care", originalTransactionDescription: "Local Dental Care", merchantCategoryCode: 8021, merchantName: "Local Dental Care", transactionType: .pointOfSale, status: .booked, transactionDate: 2025-08-20 22:27:50 +0000, postedDate: 2025-08-21 11:22:06 +0000 ) Because this appears to be a single-location practice, I can usually resolve it to a place using MapKit search heuristics. But for big-box chains, I don’t get enough signal to determine which store: Fetched transaction: Transaction( id: 3F8E9F74-7565-4D24-9038-8FD709184799, accountID: 14939CF4-DBC3-4A9D-8292-5FEA495B8461, transactionAmount: 441.77 USD, creditDebitIndicator: .debit, transactionDescription: "The Home Depot", originalTransactionDescription: "The Home Depot", merchantCategoryCode: 5200, merchantName: "The Home Depot", transactionType: .pointOfSale, status: .booked, transactionDate: 2023-12-27 23:07:02 +0000, postedDate: 2023-12-29 03:09:41 +0000 ) There’s no store number, address, phone, or any stable identifier. With hundreds of locations, I can’t deterministically choose a map pin or fetch the right brand assets. What I’m trying to achieve I’d like to replicate the Apple Wallet experience: show a small map snapshot and merchant visuals (logo/name that match Apple Maps / the Place Card) on the transaction detail screen. Without a location hint, I have to either: Ask users to pick a store manually, or Make a guess based on a coarse, app-defined region …neither of which feels great. Questions Is there any way in FinanceKit today to access merchant location or a resolvable identifier (e.g., address, city/state, store number, Apple Maps place identifier, network merchant ID/MID, terminal ID, etc.)? If not, can FinanceKit expose additional merchant metadata (even opt-in / privacy-preserving) to enable Wallet-like enrichment? A few examples that would unblock this: merchantAddress (or components: street/city/region/postalCode/country) merchantPhone (often unique per store) merchantIdentifier (stable per physical location, e.g., network merchant ID / store number) mapsPlaceURL or mapsPlaceIdentifier (linkage to the Apple Maps Place Card) brandAssetURL (logo/brand reference similar to what Wallet shows) With even one of the above, I could reliably: Render an accurate map snapshot, Fetch the correct brand assets, and Avoid prompting the user or inferring via fuzzy search. Context / constraints I do not want to (and shouldn’t need to) request or monitor the user’s device location to resolve a merchant’s store location. For small merchants, MapKit text search is often enough. For large chains, I need a store-level identifier. If there’s an existing field or recommended approach I’m missing, I’d love pointers. If not, please consider this a feature request for richer merchant metadata in FinanceKit so developers can build Wallet-quality transaction details. Thanks!

Couple simple suggestions to make WKExtendedRuntimeSession a lot better
I just launched my watch app with alarms using WKExtendedRuntimeSession, as an api I wish it was possible to: set a small title/message on the alarm ui itself, right now all it displays is the "Alarm from < app name >" with the app icon, but it would be nice to be able to set a short 1~2 line message below it as well! be able to read the current scheduled date, right now it's only possible to know it's scheduled.

How does font caching / resources for each app work?
I'm a font developer. In the development process, I will revise a font and overwrite the OTF file that is currently enabled (registered) with macOS. If I then launch an app, it will immediately use the revised version of the font; while apps that are already loaded will continue to use the old version. This suggests that each app is loading new and separate font data, rather than getting it from some existing cache in memory. Yet macOS does have a "font cache" of some sort. Some apps, like TextEdit, seem to only load the fonts that they need to use. However, other apps, like Pages, load every enabled (registered) font on the OS!! (According to the Open Files list in Activity Monitor.) Given that /System/Library/Fonts/ is 625 Mb, and we can't disable any of it, isn't that a lot of data to be repeating? How many fonts is too many fonts? I can't find much documentation about the process.
