Issues with "denyAppRemoval" and "denyAppInstallation" being stuck after turned off / uninstall
Hello, according to reports from our users these two ManagedSettingsStore options seem to be stuck in the enabled state even after turning them off or removing screen time permissions and uninstalling the app that configured them. Is this possible? Has anyone seen it? The denyAppRemoval (https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/managedsettings/applicationsettings/denyappremoval-swift.property) prevents the user from uninstalling any apps from their device when active. The denyAppInstallation (https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/managedsettings/applicationsettings/denyappinstallation-swift.property) "hides" App Store, making it impossible to install any new apps. We haven't been able to replicate it yet. Does anyone know about workarounds when this happens? So far it seems like the only way is to reset the affected device.

Performance degradation and redraw loops when syncing SwiftUI Charts with custom AxisMarks
I am reporting a reproducible performance issue in iOS 18.6 where synchronizing the scroll position of two Chart views via chartScrollPosition(id:) causes a complete redraw loop when custom AxisMarks are used. This occurs even when the axis marks are technically "hidden," leading to significant frame drops and stuttering on modern hardware like the iPhone 15. Environment Device: iPhone 15 OS: iOS 18.6 (22G86) Frameworks: SwiftUI, Swift Charts, Observation The Issue When using a shared @Observable state to sync two charts, the scrolling is fluid only if the axes are at their default settings. As soon as a custom AxisMarks block is added to either chart, the following behavior is observed: Diffing Failure: The framework appears unable to maintain the identity of the axis components during the scroll update. Redraw Loop: Instead of an incremental scroll translation, the diffing algorithm triggers a full reload/re-render of both charts on every scroll offset change. Impact: CPU spikes to 100% and the UI becomes unresponsive. This happens even if the custom AxisMarks is used solely to hide the axis (e.g., AxisMarks { _ in }), suggesting the issue is with the custom declaration itself rather than the complexity of the marks being rendered. Steps to Reproduce Create two Chart views in a VStack. Bind both to a single @Observable property using .chartScrollPosition(id: $state.pos). Add any .chartXAxis { AxisMarks(...) { ... } } modifier. Scroll either chart; observe the stuttering. import SwiftUI import Charts import Observation @Observable class ChartState { var scrollPos: Date = .now } struct PerformanceBugView: View { @State private var state = ChartState() var body: some View { VStack { Chart(data) { ... } .chartScrollPosition(id: $state.scrollPos) .chartXAxis { // This custom mark triggers the performance issue AxisMarks { _ in AxisValueLabel() } } Chart(data) { ... } .chartScrollPosition(id: $state.scrollPos) } } } Questions for the Community/Apple Engineers: Is there a way to provide a stable identifier to AxisMarks to prevent them from being treated as "new" during a scroll update? Why does even an empty AxisMarks block (used for hiding) trigger a layout invalidation that standard axes do not? Are there internal optimizations for chartScrollPosition that are bypassed when the axis layout is customized?

Smart app download banner data not showing up
Hello! I'm reaching out because we're seeing an inconsistency in App Store Connect data after we implemented the iOS Smart App Download Banner on our websites: when we go to App Store Connect → App Analytics → Acquisition → Campaigns, we see: “There isn’t enough data to display campaigns.” despite the fact that we expect to see some download data there. Context: Apps: HomeRun – Get Things Done (App ID: 1506390428) and ProntoPro - Trova Professionisti (App ID: 1274970171) We deployed the iOS Smart App Banner on the corresponding web pages on March 5 (https://homerun.pl/ and https://prontopro.ch/) We have also created corresponding campaigns in App Store Connect and are passing tokens via the banner meta tag: We tested this in real life by downloading both apps at least 5 times using distinct Apple accounts which never downloaded the apps before. Verification You can visit our websites (https://homerun.pl/ and https://prontopro.ch/) and verify the Smart App Banner configuration by viewing the page HTML source and locating the apple-itunes-app meta tag and its affiliate-data value. If helpful, we can provide any other additional resource of info you might need. Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Setup SearchDomains with NETransparentProxyProvider
We have a macOS system extension with NETransparentProxyProvider which is able to intercept traffic and handle it. We also wanted to setup few search domains from our network extension. However, unlike PacketTunnelProvider, NEDNSSettings are completely ignored with NETransparentProxyProvider. So whats the best way to setup few DNS search domains when using NETransparentProxyProvider.

Unable to access sourceIcon URL in AccessoryNotification.File - AccessoryError error 0
Environment iOS Version: 26.4 Beta (Build 17E5170d) Xcode Version: 26.4 Beta Framework: AccessoryNotifications, AccessoryTransportExtension Description When implementing AccessoryNotifications.NotificationsForwarding.AccessoryNotificationsHandler, I'm unable to retrieve the URL for sourceIcon from AccessoryNotification. The file.url property throws AccessoryError error 0 with the message "unable to get file URL". Code Sample func add( notification: AccessoryNotification, alertingContext: AlertingContext, alertCoordinator: any AlertCoordinating ) { Task { if let sourceIcon = notification.sourceIcon { do { let url = try await sourceIcon.url // Throws AccessoryError error 0 let data = try Data(contentsOf: url) // Process icon data... } catch { print("Failed to get sourceIcon URL: (error)") // Error: The operation couldn't be completed. // (AccessoryNotifications.AccessoryError error 0.) } } } } Observed Behavior The sourceIcon property is present and its type is correctly reported as public.image: │ sourceIcon : present │ type.identifier : public.image │ type.description : image │ url : (error: The operation couldn't be completed. (AccessoryNotifications.AccessoryError error 0.)) Error details: Error: customError(message: "unable to get file URL") Type: AccessoryError Code: 0 Expected Behavior The file.url property should return a valid URL that allows reading the source icon image data, or the documentation should clarify any limitations or prerequisites for accessing this resource. Questions Is this a known limitation in the current beta? Are there additional entitlements or permissions required to access sourceIcon.url? Is there an alternative API to retrieve the actual image data for sourceIcon? Additional Context The same error occurs when accessing url in both describeNotification (debug logging) and sendAttachment methods contextIcon is typically nil for the notifications tested (e.g., WeChat messages) The notification metadata (title, body, actions, etc.) is correctly received

On iOS 26, HLS alternate audio track selection behaves inconsistently
Summary On iOS 26, HLS alternate audio track selection behaves inconsistently on both VOD and live streams: the French track falls back to the DEFAULT=YES (English) track after manual selection, and in some cases switching to a non-default track appears to work but it is then impossible to switch back to English. Environment iOS version: 26 Players affected: native Safari on iOS 26 and THEOplayer (issue also reproducible on THEOplayer's own demo page) Stream type: HLS/CMAF with demuxed alternate audio renditions (CMFC container) Affected stream types: both VOD and live streaming Issue NOT present on iOS 17/18 Manifest #EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:4 #EXT-X-INDEPENDENT-SEGMENTS #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=8987973,AVERAGE-BANDWIDTH=8987973,VIDEO-RANGE=SDR,CODECS="avc1.640028",RESOLUTION=1920x1080,FRAME-RATE=29.970,AUDIO="program_audio" video_1080p.m3u8 #EXT-X-MEDIA:TYPE=AUDIO,GROUP-ID="program_audio",LANGUAGE="en",ASSOC-LANGUAGE="en",NAME="English",AUTOSELECT=YES,DEFAULT=YES,CHANNELS="2",URI="audio_ENG.m3u8" #EXT-X-MEDIA:TYPE=AUDIO,GROUP-ID="program_audio",LANGUAGE="de",ASSOC-LANGUAGE="de",NAME="Deutsch",AUTOSELECT=YES,DEFAULT=NO,CHANNELS="2",URI="audio_DEU.m3u8" #EXT-X-MEDIA:TYPE=AUDIO,GROUP-ID="program_audio",LANGUAGE="fr",ASSOC-LANGUAGE="fr",NAME="Francais",AUTOSELECT=YES,DEFAULT=NO,CHANNELS="2",URI="audio_FRA.m3u8" Steps to Reproduce Load the HLS manifest (VOD or live) in Safari on iOS 26, or in any AVFoundation-backed player Start playback — English plays correctly as DEFAULT Manually select "Francais" from the audio track selector Observe that English audio continues playing (French does not play) In a separate scenario: manually select "Deutsch" — German plays correctly Attempt to switch back to English — English does not resume; audio remains on the previously selected track Expected behavior Selecting any track should immediately switch to that language Switching back to English (DEFAULT=YES) should work at any time Behavior should be consistent across VOD and live streams Actual behavior Two distinct anomalies observed, reproducible on both VOD and live streams, in both native Safari and THEOplayer: French-specific fallback: selecting the French track causes playback to fall back to English. This does not happen with German. Cannot return to English: in cases where a non-default track plays correctly, attempting to switch back to the DEFAULT=YES track (English) fails — the previous non-default track continues playing. The fact that the issue reproduces in native Safari confirms this is an AVFoundation/WebKit-level regression, not a third-party player bug. What we have already verified and ruled out LANGUAGE codes are BCP-47 compliant (en, fr, de) ✓ EXT-X-VERSION:4 is present ✓ Audio codec removed from STREAM-INF CODECS (video-only) ✓ ASSOC-LANGUAGE attribute added matching LANGUAGE value ✓ Container metadata verified via ffprobe: mdhd box correctly contains language tags (e.g. "fra") ✓ Audio segment content verified via ffplay: correct audio in each language file ✓ French audio source file contains correct French audio content ✓ Issue reproduces in native Safari on iOS 26, confirming it is not a THEOplayer-specific bug Issue does NOT reproduce on iOS 17/18 with the same manifest and segments Additional notes The VOD stream is packaged with AWS MediaConvert, CMAF output group, SEGMENTED_FILES, AAC-LC codec (mp4a.40.2), 128kbps, 48kHz stereo. English uses AudioTrackType ALTERNATE_AUDIO_AUTO_SELECT_DEFAULT; French and German use ALTERNATE_AUDIO_AUTO_SELECT. The live stream uses AWS MediaPackage with a similar CMAF/HLS output configuration. Please advise whether this is a known regression in AVFoundation on iOS 26 and whether a fix is planned.

How to initiate native cellular calls without user confirmation from a companion app (like Meta Ray-Ban glasses)
We are building an AI-powered smart glasses companion app, similar to Meta Ray-Ban. We want to provide true hands-free calling support. Right now, whenever the app tries to dial a native cellular call, iOS shows a confirmation screen that requires the user to tap to start the call. If the user always has to confirm/tap on the phone screen, there is no real point in using smart glasses for making calls. How can we initiate a native outgoing call without any confirmation dialog or extra tap, exactly like Siri does it, or like the Meta Ray-Ban glasses do when the user says “Hey Meta, call [name]” Please guide us on the correct APIs, entitlements, or integration path to achieve this behavior. Thank you.

MapKit JS quota limits
Hello, I’m planning to use MapKit JS for a production web/mobile application and I’m trying to better understand the quota limits and pricing model. From the documentation, I understand that MapKit JS provides a free daily limit of: 250,000 map views 25,000 service calls per Apple Developer Program membership. However, I’m not clear about what exactly happens if these limits are exceeded. My questions: If my application exceeds 250,000 map views or 25,000 service calls in a day, what happens? Will the API simply start returning errors (for example HTTP 429), or will Apple automatically charge for additional usage? Is there an official pricing model for usage above the free quota, or do we need to contact Apple to request higher limits? Are these limits strict daily hard limits that should never be exceeded in production? I’m trying to design the architecture of my application and would like to understand whether we must strictly stay below these limits or whether scaling beyond them is possible. Thank you.

Device fails to request mobileconfig after the second reboot, with no access logs in Nginx
We are developing an MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution for device management purposes, and our current implementation process is as follows: 1. Configure DEP profile to obtain profile_uuid We configured a DEP profile with the following parameters to retrieve the profile_uuid: { "allow_pairing": true, "anchor_certs": [], "auto_advance_setup": true, "await_device_configured": false, "configuration_web_url": "", "department": "test define profile", "devices": ["MNWF07QD9M"], "is_mandatory": false, "is_mdm_removable": false, "is_multi_user": false, "is_supervised": true, "language": "zh", "org_magic": "", "profile_name": "Enrollment Profile - MNWF07QD9M", "region": "cn", "skip_setup_items": [ "Accessibility", "ActionButton", "Android", "Appearance", "AppleID", "AppStore", "Biometric", "CameraButton", "DeviceToDeviceMigration", "Diagnostics", "EnableLockdownMode", "FileVault", "iCloudDiagnostics", "iCloudStorage", "iMessageAndFaceTime", "Intelligence", "Keyboard", "MessagingActivationUsingPhoneNumber", "Passcode", "Payment", "Privacy", "Restore", "RestoreCompleted", "Safety", "ScreenTime", "SIMSetup", "Siri", "SoftwareUpdate", "SpokenLanguage", "UpdateCompleted", "WatchMigration", "WebContentFiltering" ], "supervising_host_certs": [], "support_email_address": "", "support_phone_number": "", "url": "https://mdmp.com/mdm/apple/enroll?shopId=1" } We sent a POST request to the /profile endpoint with the above payload, and the response returned the profile_uuid: 605FB5C274303C19189C9B99DCD3280D. 2. Assign the profile We sent a POST request to the /profile/devices endpoint, including the aforementioned profile_uuid and the target devices list in the request body. 3. Scan the device with Apple Configurator 2 We used Apple Configurator 2 to scan and enroll the target device. Issue Encountered After the device restarts twice, it fails to retrieve the mobileconfig file from the URL: https://mdmp.com/mdm/apple/enroll. We are using Nginx as the web server and have enabled access logging, but the logs show no incoming requests from the device to the /mdm/apple/enroll endpoint at all. Could you please help identify where we might have made a mistake in this process?

Filing a Wi-Fi Bug Report
Every now and again I end up helping a developer with a Wi-Fi issue. These fall into two groups: User-level Wi-Fi issues Development Wi-Fi issues A user-level Wi-Fi issue is one where the developer hasn’t created any of the products involved. An example of this is when you’re developing an app for an accessory and iOS is having problems connecting to that accessory but you don’t control the accessory’s firmware. In general, I recommend that you escalate such issues to the accessory vendor. They can then run their own investigation and, if necessary, file their own bug report. A development Wi-Fi issue is one that directly affects one of your products. For example, you’re developing a Wi-Fi accessory and iOS is having problems connecting to it. In that case, the onus is on you [1] to investigate why things are failing. If your conclusion is that iOS is behaving incorrectly, file a bug about that. IMPORTANT If you do file a bug in the context of some forums thread, please post your bug number to the thread, just for the record. When filing this sort of bug report it’s important to provide: Solid evidence that the problem is on the Apple side of the fence Enough information for Apple’s engineers to investigate it effectively Let’s start with that second point. If you can reproduce the problem reliably, install the Wi-Fi debug profile on your device, reproduce the problem, noting down a rough timestamp, and include the resulting logs and that timestamp in your bug report. Also, consider attaching a packet trace. There are three options here: Record a packet trace from the perspective of the Apple device. On iOS, use an RVI packet trace for this. Record a packet trace from the perspective of your accessory. Record a Wi-Fi level packet trace. You can do this from your Mac (see Recording a Wi-Fi Packet Trace) but it might be easier to do this with the infrastructure you used during the bring up of your accessory. It’s fine to include all three (-: Also include any relevant context about the issue. For example: If the issue is tied to a specific device model (In that case, it’d be good to include the above information for both the successful and failing cases.) If the problem shows up when joining from Settings > Wi-Fi, or whether it’s tied to a specific API, like NEHotspotConfigurationManager Finally, make sure to include an explanation of why you think this is an Apple bug, referencing specific items in the logs and packet traces that you attached. Of course, it’s only possible to do all of this if you can reproduce the problem. Investigating an intermittent issue based on reports coming in from users is much harder. It’s OK to file a bug about such issues, but your bug might not be actionable. At a minimum you should aim to include a sysdiagnose log with your bug. IMPORTANT This log has to be taken shortly after reproducing the problem. Don’t just attach any old log. One option is to request such a log from your users. I talk more about this in Using a Sysdiagnose Log to Debug a Hard-to-Reproduce Problem. You can also ask your users to file their own bugs using the Feedback Assistant app. It should automatically capture and attach a sysdiagnose log. Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” @ Developer Technical Support @ Apple let myEmail = "eskimo" + "1" + "@" + "apple.com" [1] Well, your organisation. It’s rare to find a team where the same engineer works on both the iOS app and the accessory firmware. But if that’s you, good job!

New developer program membership application stuck in review for more than a month now
I have a new startup in Delaware of US. I created a new apple account with my company email and i applied for the developer membership as a company. My Enrollment Id is 5XVYK3UJL8 . I applied in early february and after it was stuck for 5 days, i contacted customer care. I was told that I did not have a company website and the link had a placeholder page so they withdrew my application. Then I created a company website and submitted another application. This was around 8th of February and we are still stuck in review. I have contacted apple customer care about 8 times and everytime they ask me to upload information about myself such as my employee badge ID, or employment letter, etc - since im the sole director of my new startup, I do not have any of these but I gave them my company incorporation documents which has my name, and my passport (Im not a US citizen). Now when Im contacting customer care, im not even getting a response. My whole team is frustrated and in the dark. And I do not know what to do. A lot of riding on our team being able to run beta tests using testflight but we have no help from apple. Can someone guide me here?

Payment issue
Hello, I started my Apple Developer enrollment using the Apple Developer app. However, the payment method available on my device cannot be accepted because the billing address is outside the United States. Is it possible to complete the membership purchase through the web instead of the app?

Developer Program enrolment double charge
Followed Apple's instructions and signed up via the iOS developer app. Received confirmation email of purchase. However I can 't complete enrolment because the developer account and the apple account haven't synced, so the developer account is trying to get me to "finish payment". Anyone else have this issue?
